Nº 7 in 16 in Martigny-Combe

comment_iconOpinions

Absolutely dreadful experience. We stopped to rest after a long time walking in very steep terrain and the owner told us that we could either consume or leave. We left but asked if we could take water from the tap. He told us we could but it was disgustingly dirty. Overall very unkind behaviour. And about the beauty, there are far more beautiful places in the area.

Closed before mid-September and announced as open. We should not then complain that the walkers spend nothing. I make it a point of honor to eat in alpine refreshments to support the Alpine economy. But if they don't play the game, we shouldn't complain afterwards that making ends meet is difficult. I was by far not the only one who wanted to eat. Not to mention the damage done to other refreshments and cabins.

We stopped to rest a little in the shade and while we were thinking about whether to have something or not, a waitress told us that either we should have something or we have to leave. All this while sitting in a corner, since we didn't want to occupy the pretty tables with umbrellas until we decided if we were going to have something to drink. Come on, at 2000 meters of altitude and in the middle of the TMB they don't even let you be in the shade if you don't consume. This is neither reasonable nor moral in a mountain environment.

A magnificent setting, we will enjoy stopping to eat and drink in this setting, among the cattle of the alpine pastures and the mountains. Downside on the prices of drinks and dishes, slightly too high.... 8€ per beer is excessive. Otherwise, the setting is worth the detour even for those who wish to stop without consuming, which remains a significant advantage. To have

A place on the TMB route with a very nice view. We ordered one coffee - it was bad - a teaspoon of instant coffee with water and milk, and a peach cake, which was dry and only had fruit flavor. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the cake was quite tasty. The coffee was tasteless, not to mention the behavior of the staff. We got there during a sudden break in the weather. There was noticeable dissatisfaction on the part of the people running the place because people wanted to find shelter with them. Guests were being chased away unless they ordered something - absurd. You could feel the waiters' eyes on you as to whether your order had already been eaten - if so, you were asked to leave. It was a sad sight when one of the tourists, after ordering scrambled eggs, received them outside during a heavy downpour. After drawing attention, he was informed that he could open an umbrella. There would definitely be enough room for him inside. I absolutely do not recommend it, a tragic testimony of Swiss hospitality.

The dish we ordered was given to someone completely different because the young guy who works there doesn't know the difference between an omelette and a rosti. After pointing out that someone else had gotten our meal, we were informed that a new one would be prepared for us. After an hour of waiting and calling attention again, we were told that the kitchen was already closed and we could only get a refund. When it comes to service, the lady who takes orders is nice and has no problems with communication. The elderly lady who prepares the meals shouted at us when we pointed out that we had not received our meal. The young guy who works there doesn't know what's on the menu and confuses dishes. We lost an hour and left this place even hungrier.

Went to Bovine just after the school closed and I was unpleasantly surprised to see all the outdoor trash left by the establishment!!! Behind the small cabin is an area where trash cans were probably burned since there are still half-burnt objects and other charred ones that will end up blown away by the wind and therefore into nature!!! This waste should have been taken to a recycling center and never burned as was done! This is simply unacceptable and we intend to inform the local authorities.

Only one star for this shelter. I will only give my opinion about the execrable reception we received, not having had the opportunity to taste anything. Indeed, after 3 hours of going up to the refuge, in the rain and the cold, we finally arrived at the refuge and before placing an order, we asked for access to the toilets to wash our hands and relieve our two children who were with We . We received the response that we had to consume before, in a more than unpleasant tone and obscene gestures from, it seems to me, the manager ( ). On the entire TMB route, it is unfortunately the only refuge that received us like this and it is very sad...
