Clean, rustic hotel in a great location by Lake Oeschinen. Very nice and helpful landlady! Next time we'll definitely try the hash browns!

I can't judge the rooms but typical restaurant! Fondue at the top. Well of course we would have liked some cold meats with it but a priori not possible.. Huge half portion of fries! French speaking boss! We didn't feel rejected being French tourists... in fact almost the entire room was filled with French people ;)

I can only judge the food here, not the rooms. We had a cheese fondue and vegetable rösti, it was good value for money and it was good home cooking.

“Give us today our daily bread” or something similar, sometimes also in Alpenblick. Go there for lunch every now and then and there is definitely more than just bread. Thanks to the service... We don't use the rooms.

Five stars for the restaurant, because I didn't sleep here. The room is nice, has a nice outdoor area, the lady is very kind, and you can taste typical dishes of the area without spending too much like in the other restaurants in the centre.

I booked the hotel using Smartbox. Everything went smoothly! The aperitif and the morning meal were great. It's small but nice. The staff (the Schmid-Ogi family) were very friendly 😊 👍🏻

The room is very old but the price is very good. The toilet and shower are in the hallway for room 14. The staff is very friendly!

Rustikal, währschaft und gut in gemütlicher Gaststube, freundlicher Bedienung und zu sehr fairen Preisen.

Ich war mit meiner Mutter zum Abendessen im Alpenblick. Wir hatten beide einen grünen Salat mit französischer Sauce (sehr fein!). Zur Hauptspeise assen wir eine wunderbare Walliser Rösti. Das Dessert war super (siehe Fotos)! Die Chefin wünscht persönlich einen guten Appetit und verabschiedet sich persönlich. Im Allgemeinen eine familiäre, entspannte und angenehme Atmosphäre. Danke !

Stopped by at this local place for a dinner before catching a bus back to Frutigen. We were very pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere and the delicious food! We ordered rackets and bacon rosti and the house specialty — beef on a skewer that they light up on fire in front of you before serving it! Those two items were simply incredible, I even ordered one more rosti! The only thing we didn’t enjoy that much was the house mixed salad — it had a little too much dressing and not enough fresh veggies to my taste. Otherwise, highly recommend to stop by here if you’re hiking Oeschinensee!

Schönes Chalet mit gutem Schweizer Gericht. Musik ist vielleicht besser. Die Preise sind sehr gut und nicht zu teuer

Wir besuchten speziell die Rösti und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Essen war sehr gut, genauso wie der Service. Unser Essen war sehr heiß und wir haben es sehr genossen!

Rosti ist die Spezialität in diesem kleinen informellen Restaurant, und es war gut! Freundlicher Service und sogar ein Plausch mit ein paar Einheimischen, die dort essen. Würde wieder besuchen.

Superb view, very warm welcome, clean and close to the slopes

Nous sommes allés dans ce restaurant pour son cadre rustique. Nous avons été très bien accueillis. La serveuse faisait des efforts pour parler français. Elle est vraiment très sympathique. Nous avons pris des röstis et des croûtes au fromage. Assiettes généreuses. Tout était EXCELLENT ! Nous y retournerons certainement !

Kleines Restaurant an der Hauptstraße, gut gelegen, mit wunderbarem persönlichen Service. Gute Auswahl auf der Speisekarte. Mehrmals im Monat gibt es abends sehr authentische Musik und Jodel.

Wir hielten in Kandersteg zum Mittagessen auf dem Weg zwischen dem Wallis und der See von Luzern. Zwei Großeltern, Mutter und ihre zwei kleinen Kinder. Wir waren auf der Suche nach etwas einfach mit Sachen für die Kinder würden essen (schwer!) und Alpenblick war auf dem Weg. Wir wurden sehr herzlich und ohne zu fragen begrüßt die Kellnerin brachten sofort Malbücher und Stifte für die Kinder. Sehr zu schätzen!Das Essen war einfach und lecker. Der Rösti war sehr lecker. Zusätzliche syrop war für die Kinder ohne gefragt zu gebracht. (Kinder trinken syrop Grenadine und Wasser ... ) war der Preis moderat - gutes Mittagessen, Getränke, Kaffee für unter 100 CHF.Das nächste Mal, wenn wir das Auto-Zug nach Kandersteg werden wir wieder hier übernachten.

Gutes Essen verstärkt mit Rösti und Bier für CHF 21. (Viele tägliche Menüs beschrieben in der Gegend waren ca. 20 /CHF) Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam.

Lors de notre passage à Kandersteg avec logement dans l'hôtel du même nom, la patronne nous a réservé une table dans le restaurant ce qui simplifiait bien des choses pour les enfants ! La carte est simple, elle comporte quelques spécialités à base de fromage, de simples salades, quelques viandes, et surtout la grande spécialité de la région de Berne, les Röstis. Il s'agit d'une sorte de galette de pommes de terre agrémentée de fromage, de jambon, de lard etc. C'est ce que nous avons choisi. C'était gouteux, copieux et rapidement servi. Vu la quantité de lard et de fromage (c'est très salé), personnellement j'aurais dû également prendre une salde verte. Les autres clients semblaient aussi heureux de leur choix, qu'ils soient de passage ou, nombreux, en demi-pension. Le service m'a semblé un peu bougon. L'atmosphère était aussi très lourde, il faisait plus de 25° à l'extérieur et aucune fenêtre n'était ouverte sauf celle du local fumeur. Cela m'a donné une excuse pour reprendre une excellente bière blanche, mais bon c'était un peu inconfortable. Finalement, on regrettera les prix très (trop) suisses : 15€ pour une galette de pomme de terre même si on y met du fromage et du lard, cela reste un peu excessif ! Avec une salade verte et une grande bière on serait vite arrivé à 23€ !!!

Wir hatten ein wirklich sehr, sehr schönes Abendessen im Alpenblick, gleich neben unserem Hotel befindet. Das Essen war wirklich gut, eine schöne Weinkarte, und wirklich sehr, sehr schönes und einheimisches Personal!
