Very beautiful view! Great staff! Delicious food!

It is simply incredibly beautiful

The Älplibahn is a cable car in Malans. Trips should be reserved in advance as capacity is limited. Once at the top there is a small restaurant that lovingly offers small dishes and drinks that can be enjoyed with a wonderful view. The hikes from there offer fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Highly recommended!

After the morning hike to the Vilan ⛰️ lunch break in the mountain station "Beiz" with a delicious daily menu that is reasonably priced considering the alpine location 🍛 and looked after by very friendly, attentive waiting staff 👯 After enjoying the great view over the extensive mountain and landscape backdrop, then with us Comfortably chugged down to the valley on the train 🚡. We'll definitely come back 👍

You can tell that everyone here puts their heart and soul into it. From the train staff to the service, everyone has a smile on their face and enjoys their work. The food at Älpli above (after 2 days of outdoor camping we were all in the mood for a colorful salad and a homemade dessert) is super delicious and the view is simply stunning! As the icing on the cake, you can also go hiking in the area, but I would also gondola up to Älpli “just like that”. Always happy, thank you very much for your commitment!

Enjoy a beautiful view with a cold drink or a delicious coffee. Just a dream up there. Very nice service. Were very attentive and friendly. Prices are ok. 4.50chf for a beer is nothing to say for the amount, I think. If you're not too good on foot, you can easily go up with the gondola. The small hut is also right next to the cable car. We enjoyed it very much, would be happy to do it again! 🥰

A perfect starting point for hikes and a great view of the surrounding mountains from the restaurant terrace. Nice service and fine food.

The Älplibahn consists of two 4-seater gondolas (aerial cable car), which take approx. 15 minutes each way. Advance reservation necessary. Family and lovingly cared for. But I think CHF 18 for there and back is a proud price. I can only praise the apple pie in the lovingly looked after restaurant (I didn't try anything else). A beautiful circular hike (2 - 3 hours) can be done from the restaurant. Good footwear required and there are also short, nutritious climbs. 😊

Very impressive cable car and good restaurant with the best view.

If the weather is good, a reservation for the train journey is recommended. The restaurant terrace is right when you get off the cable car at the mountain station. From here you have a wonderful view of the Chur Rhine Valley. There is a lunch menu and various cold dishes and sweets. The drinks menu is just as varied. The service is warm and familiar and so are the prices. A trip that is worth it.

Well, the cable car is safe, not safe. It is served by retired volunteers. It can be ordered for the exact time of the journey there and back. About 38 chf for two return. We completed the ascent to Vilan following the red mark. Comfort, safety .. beautiful environment, juicy digestive tract and cows graze on it at that height above 2300 m 😊

Starting point for a beautiful hike. Magnificent view. Friendly and quick service. A ride on the gondola must be reserved.

You should actually give this five stars, but there is one negative point for barley juice lovers: after eight and a half hours of hiking, we got a warm beer! Otherwise you can only praise the Älplibahn and all its supporters. What is done here with volunteer work is second to none. Even if you don't go hiking, it's worth a visit just for the fantastic views!

Wonderful train with a very beautiful hiking area. The Maiensäss Valcaus is also great for drinks and small dishes.

The Älplibahnverein Malans does excellent work. It is an experience to travel by train. The Älpli offers a magnificent view of the valley and the surrounding mountains. Starting point for many hikes, can be booked individually or under expert guidance. The integrated bar also has its charm. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for service, so the time for the reserved descent was rather short. We had to ask if it was self service or served. Only then did movement come into play.

A great stopover after a hike and very good food. Friendly service and a cozy place. However, you have to reserve the train journey. On the terrace there is a great view of other mountains, depending on the weather ;-)

It was a beautiful autumn day, we were able to sit outside in the sun and enjoy our lunch. Fine food and friendly service. The railway people also have everything under control during this Corona period. We liked it very much.

From 580m to 1801m in 10 minutes with the Aelplibahn. Once you reach the top, the cozy Aelpli pub awaits you with inexpensive, good food. Friendly welcome and service. When the weather is nice, there is a large terrace with a fantastic view of Chur. Again and again

A small gondola operated with a lot of passion and friendliness. The journey takes just under a quarter of an hour and you have a fantastic view over the Rhine Valley. The mountain restaurant invites you to linger and is a must-visit. The warmth of the staff leaves nothing to be desired. The menu offers something for everyone and the food tastes very good. The prices are reasonable. We'd love to come back.

8 people per trip every 15'; this is just pure luxury without “overtourism”!!! Bravo bravo bravo Älpli Railway Club!!!

This view! As far as I know, the restaurant at the mountain station is run by volunteers from the club. Very personable, always friendly and attentive despite the "full house".

Privately run cable car with friendly staff in the valley and in the restaurant. Very good and fine daily plates with a final dessert at a low price 👌. Of course, nothing stands in the way of a hike up the local mountain, Vilan. Good shoes, a bit of fitness and off to the post office. Once at the top you will be rewarded with a 360° panorama including a marmot greeting. The route to Vilan is also very suitable for a long day hike.

Restaurant that is very cozy and serves very tasty food. As well as the mountain station of the Älplibahn. From here you can hike to the Vilan in 2 hours, which is really a wonderful experience.

The small restaurant is basically the mountain station of the Älplibahn. Even if you notice that the employees are not "professionals" but rather voluntary laypeople - which should be commended here - you will still receive friendly and polite service. The food and drink menu is kept small and the daily menus vary - but that's not a bad thing! Because they are each freshly prepared! The terrace is shaded with large sun blinds and the view is beautiful. If the weather is bad or cool, you will be given woolen blankets so that you can still sit outside and eat something. Important for dog owners to know: Since the kitchen is right next to the entrance area and the tables inside the restaurant are adjacent, dogs have to stay outside due to legal regulations.
