Really great ambience, incredibly good food, wonderful delicacy and very competent and friendly staff. I can recommend it to everyone. Beautiful in the old Torkel.

What a wonderful experience! Outstanding Michelin Guide restaurant with a Bib Gourmand rating, though it deserves a star! Creative, well-thought out menu with local ingredients and a variety of wine pairings for every dish. The restaurant is located in the middle of the Bündner Herrschaft vineyard region and sources its wines from the finest manufacturers in the region. The view of the vineyards, even on a cloudy day, is fantastic. On the inside, the restaurant is meticulously decorated as a charming, rural Swiss winery. Meat lovers will enjoy the Alter Torkel with its mouthwatering foie gras, perfectly cooked Swiss beef fillet, venison, duck breast and more. The service is both friendly and professional, the staff combine a nice sense of humor with timely service and knowledge of the wine list. For those who would like to take home a souvenir, there is a sizeable, reasonably priced offering of local wines for sale, which are packed into portable and sustainable cardboard boxes. Not that you should reserve in advance, this restaurant is in high demand even on weekdays.

Great ambience. Excellent service (cheerful, courteous and committed) we could enjoy a late lunch with great wine accompaniment. It would be even better outside but rather difficult in cold temperatures.

A wonderful place, as already described several times. Certainly in the high price segment, which is why expectations are raised again. Unfortunately, the Baba Ganoush was far too salty for all of us in a group of four and tasted especially of garlic. We were offered to replace it, but after discussing it in the kitchen we were told that it had to be that way and that if we got it replaced, it would taste the same again... So three out of four simply let it go back, without replacement . There could have been something else as a substitute or they could have prepared a baba ganoush for the guests with less salt and garlic, even though we all seem to be wrong about the taste. It's a shame, I expect a different approach.

Great atmosphere, very friendly employees. Unique wine list, all wines from the region. Unfortunately, these are greatly overpriced, which spoils the experience somewhat.

We enjoyed a wonderful 6-course meal with wine accompaniment. This restaurant is worth a visit, even in winter. Because the ambience inside is also very nice.

The most beautiful location in all of Grisons and the food was fantastic.

Unfortunately it is no longer as comfortable as the “old” Torkel that was run by Susanne and her team back then. Back then you were greeted warmly and the service was very accommodating. With the new tenants, Torkel has become elitist and narrow-minded and no longer has anything to do with the region, apart from the wines. In the past, after a walk on the weekend, no matter what time of day, you could comfortably stop by and eat whatever you wanted. Today the shift principle prevails. When your time is up you have to leave. Locals don't come here anymore.

Food good, ambience great, but, but... - Prices too high (especially when it comes to the wines) - Branding / look doesn't convince me at all, menu looked like a flyer, cutlery too rustic, the whole thing somehow doesn't fit the elegant image that they otherwise want to convey - Service friendly but with small errors - Menu: Selection too wide / no well thought out concept

Beautifully located, poorly managed, unfriendly service, completely overpriced. A sad example of inhospitability. We left after 30 minutes and a glass of mineral water.

Inconspicuous from the outside but a top address! Rather expensive but very competent and attentive service, beautiful terrace with a view, perfect for wine lovers with a large selection.

Last Saturday we spontaneously went for a good lunch in the old Torkel. The warm welcome from the staff created a good atmosphere. When we were shown the reserved place, we were able to COMPLETELY escape everyday life from the moment we dismounted. There was even a water bowl ready for the dog (100 points) We were served extremely professionally by Bettina. The young lady knows her trade and has a lot of wine knowledge, which made us as restaurateurs very happy. The menu was a hit for everyone and let me tell you. The food...pure enjoyment at the highest level! The dishes were selected to accompany the wine. That was fun. At the end there was a flambéed Kaiserschmarren (in front of the guest (!)) (insider tip) It is rare to give full marks. But the old fool deserves it. ..see you next time!

This is our 3rd time here and it’s been consistently great each time. They only serve wines from the region and have a nice variety which has been different each time. Service is friendly and knowledgeable and the view is gorgeous. Inside during bad weather is also very nice and cosy atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting!

Location is beautiful. With an impressive overview from Bad Ragaz to Trimmis. The AT is very nicely renovated and cozy. Every dish is something very special. It all depends on the wine. At the top is the wine and at the bottom are the dishes recommended with it. The staff is very nice, helpful and extremely competent. Thank you for the top service!

We stopped for a quick lunch at Alten Torkel. The food was wonderful, the wine list is impressive. Highly recommended. The only downside: the parking lot is a bit far away. If the weather is right and you're good on foot, that's not a problem. Otherwise it can become a challenge.

the parking lot is very far away from the restaurant for guests who have difficulty walking. The fuss with the barrier rope to the guest garden is unpleasant. The menu is quite difficult. The toilet facility goes down a very dark staircase...dangerous. The staff was quite friendly and the food, tataki, was good. When we went out, we were blocked again by a rope that no one opened for us and we had to close again ourselves.

Excellent culinary experience I recommend it

Plus: GREAT VIEW!! Beautiful! Inside and out! Sweet little restaurant with attention to detail! As a small device there was delicious bread with a lime dip! Very refreshing! I didn't even know it until then. My dish (cod with mini hash browns, eggplant and vegetables) was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! The desert was also really good! The service was friendly. Minus: We had reserved under the pergola but were seated against the wall (reserve space??!). There was nothing with a view! What a shame! I was disappointed... I find it quite cheeky and brazen to charge us 12 CHF for a liter of wine...according to my friend, it was the cheapest on the menu. Conclusion: Despite minus points, we will definitely go again...but this time UNDER THE PERGULA! WITH A VIEW! Not on the wall!

We had dinner there today on a hot Saturday. Although the restaurant was very busy and we didn't reserve a table, we were quickly offered a sunny spot. A child seat was automatically provided for our daughter. Even though our daughter (1.5 years old) kept throwing the spoons on the floor, the service staff reacted brilliantly! They broke out the small various toys to play with and with a wink they said that they would be happy to throw them on the floor. I think it's great that the staff made our evening so much better. The food and wine was great! Thank you very much! Family-friendly is a top priority for you. We're coming back!

Pure disappointment: A friend reserved a table for two people at Torkel as a birthday surprise. Wow, I was very happy - super nice location, cozy and perfect to enjoy. But the enjoyment came to an abrupt end (the aperitif plate was ready, but we still had wine)! The service person came and said that our table had been reserved again and that the gentlemen were already here (although a little before the reserved time) but that we now had to release the table... but we can finish drinking the wine downstairs by the woven chairs ! We were actually at a loss for words, since I wasn't that fit yet after an operation, the deep seat option didn't work. So down the not cheap wine, pay and go! Simply unacceptable for the prices there, I am extremely disappointed.

A beautiful restaurant with an incredibly great terrace. Nice staff that was always there. The only thing we complain about is the price/quantity ratio of the food. The main courses are clearly missing the savoring supplement. The food itself was very good and tasted great, but for 29.- you only get a large slice of bread with a few slices of beef at Vitello. Which as I said was very tasty but just not enough. My husband did it himself with the chicken for 39.- and hardly any side dishes. A little more garnish would be good here.

We were there for lunch today. After more than three years we wanted to go to the old Torkel again. Have never been to the new hosts. We received a very friendly welcome and each drank a glass of totally overpriced Pinot Gris. For lunch my wife got cheese spaetzli that were completely overcooked and had a strange taste. I had a tartare as my main course and was looking forward to the large portion. Large??? There came two small, less than 80 gram tartare on two untoasted white rolls. Complete. No butter, no toast, nothing. The whole thing for 52.- unbelievable! I miss the hosts! The young waitress gave us water on her left hand! Restaurateurs know what that means! A pure insult and it would have been time to just leave. It's a shame for this restaurant. The predecessors did that much better. We're not coming anymore.

Short stay in the afternoon with a glass of wine (1 dl) and a small snack (AT flatbread). Everything for 58.—🤨. For me the price-performance ratio is not justified. I won't be coming back there again!

At the Alten Torkel in Jenins you can not only enjoy a huge selection of delicious Graubünden and Dominion wines, but also an inviting and pleasant atmosphere, whether in the view, in the interior design or in the service. If you look closely, you could even say that Old Torkel Jenins enjoys Christmas all year round.

We stayed at the old Torkel in Jenins in December '22. The atmosphere was great and the food we ordered was also good. However, in my opinion the price/performance ratio is not right. The prices are rather high for the quantity served. Luckily there was also good bread and a good dip. The margins on the wines on offer also seem to be on the upper side.

The Alte Torkel in Jenins is a restaurant where you simply feel good. The interior, the dishes offered and the recommended wines make the visit recommended. The staff is great. The accompanying children also receive a lot of attention. The landlord Olli and his wife have really created a remarkable gem of hospitality here. There are enough parking spaces and the view from the outside area of ​​the beautiful landscape is beautiful.

It was a lovely culinary evening. The food tastes excellent and is beautifully prepared and the staff explains what you are eating. We had the 6-course surprise menu, which was accompanied by very good wines. You can also do this without the wine accompaniment, then the price is cheaper. Is recommended.

Beautiful restaurant with a great garden terrace and an incredible panorama in the middle of the vines. The menu is well coordinated so that everyone can find what they are looking for. A wine recommendation is listed by the glass to match each dish - a great thing! The food is sensational and beautifully prepared. The service was very attentive and friendly.
