Very good food and nice atmosphere

Very long waiting times, unfriendly and overwhelmed service, quality doubtful (chicken not cooked through). Price -Performance unsatisfactory.

I have to be honest, we didn't eat better! However, the portions are far too small for this price! My husband and I both had sweet and sour chicken/ I with rice, my husband with noodles. However, it was very little! And so we ordered another portion of noodles for both of them (an extra 8.-) The service is very nice, but you waited far too long for the food! 5 tables were occupied… and we waited about 45 minutes for them. However, the ambience is beautiful! Our decision... we won't come back again, even if it was good, the price was way too overpriced!

The meal was excellent. Fie Ftühlingsrolle as a starter and the chicken satay were really very good. What's not okay is that a service employee doesn't know a word of German. First someone had to come who could speak German. Ordered a martini as an aperitif. Unfortunately there was far too much water in there. It would also be good if you put a rechaud on the table so that the food stays warm. The bill could not simply be taken from a receipt and brought to the table. The invoice belongs in a folder.

The food is delicious, but the rice (in the shape of a heart) was brought earlier than the accompanying dishes, so it was unfortunately cold. My father had ordered a dish that was said to be not spicy - but it later turned out that it was too spicy... The prices in this restaurant are rather higher, there is no main course that costs less than 24 CHF, although the side dish, such as rice or pasta, costs extra. The decor is very nice and there is even a place where you can sit on the floor, but it was a little cold in the restaurant. There is still parking space outside for customers.

The service started excellently, but unfortunately there was a change during the main course and then it felt like we were no longer there. The coffee we ordered is probably still under the coffee machine. This was still the case when paying. Very unfortunate

Buffet is a great idea. Some of the curries are really tasty. But it's no longer what it used to be, dry meat & soggy rice & spring rolls tasted like hay Sometimes long waiting times until all the cafing dishes are full... Unfortunately it's simply no longer authentic.

Wow, just wow, this has to be by far one of the best thai restaurants ive had, outside of thailand, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and most of all delicious, impeccable food, highly recommend!!! (Only a bit on the pricy side, but this is Switzerland to be fair)

Take Away à la carte: Very disappointing. The fried rice was a tough mess, the meat in the wok dishes was dry and the dishes were generally bland and didn't have enough sauce. The Thai salad also tasted like it was a bit old... a shame, because we had good experiences here before!

I have been a regular visitor to Asia Lotus for years. Unfortunately the restaurant has been deteriorating for some time, which I very much regret. Has there been a change of ownership? Or what is going on there? The food is still fine, but the selection is a lot smaller. The price for the lunch buffet is also CHF 3.00 higher - so smaller selection, higher price. The service used to be more personal and friendly. A pity!

I went there for lunch today. I waited for 20 minutes and no one approached me. They had a few small groups but they were by no means busy. I finally left and went somewhere else. I would give them zero stars if I could. Don’t go as a single diner as you will be ignored. Much better service in Thailand.

The restaurant is nice and well maintained and the service is friendly. Unfortunately the food was disappointing, papaya salad without papaya but with lots of chili! When she saw the plate empty she asked if it wasn't spicy, had the cook done that on purpose? Unfortunately, the wok vegetables were also simple (only carrots, peppers, cauliflower and broccoli) and not very Asian.. then I wouldn't cut the vegetables with the Demidov knife.. aren't very Asian either.. I forget to say that Can't recommend it, but because the service was really friendly, I give it 2 stars.

Change of ownership...? Just a shadow of its former self. Only 1 chef today. Staff overwhelmed. Buffet is 70% empty at 12.30pm. Curry just watery. Meat not cooked through. The selection is getting smaller and smaller. Pasta with vegetables. If nothing changes here, the customers will stay away. A pity...

I've been coming here for lunch every now and then for many years. Unfortunately, over time and changes of ownership (it seems) the quality has declined. The lunch offer with buffet “all you can eat” for CHF 22.00 is generally a good offer. However, you should also make sure that the buffet is constantly replenished and that you don't always find yourself standing in front of empty dishes. The taste is okay, but it was better. Unfortunately, you also save a bit here if the 2-3 meat dishes only contain chicken. Unfortunately, plates were not cleared several times. There is definitely a lot of room for improvement to become GOOD again.

Restaurant was very cool. Shivered the whole time. The service is clumsy. Not paying enough attention. The food was great, it was a shame that the food was served on cold plates.

Probably the best thai food in Swiss

A good restaurant with fine food and friendly service. We always enjoy coming back and we always have a fine beer from Asia with our meal. There is parking in front of the door and you can also pick up the food, i.e. take it away. The restaurant itself does not offer a delivery service.

Very authentic and delicious food! A diverse menu, which is very exciting. Everyone took something different and so everyone had something from the other and could get an idea. Really delicious!! The service was courteous and good. The atmosphere was cozy and invites you to linger with a glass of wine. To recommend!

Very friendly staff and very accommodating. Always come to the table and ask if everything is okay and refill the drinks from the bottle. The lunch buffet was super tasty and very varied. The small spring rolls as a starter are great

Update Nov 2021: Unfortunate this place has rapidly declined during the covid times. Below you can find my original review. All of the mentioned signature dishes have disappeared from the menu, placing the menu in the middle of the average range offered by many Chinese/Thai restaurants in Switzerland. The ambiance remains as it was before but that is attributable only to the interior design, they drastically reduced the staff to the point where those left over are having a hard time keeping up during peak hours. The food was ok but didnt specifically stand out for the refined specific flavors I used to like this place for. Some dishes have become unreasonably expensive compared to their peers while the portion size has not changed or in some cases even became smaller (specifically the thai salads). For me there are just too many changes that have pushed this restaurant of my radar. I wish them luck and hope they can climb back. Old review: This place has great food. They employ an authentic chinese chef and an authentic thai chef. Dishes are excellent and authentic but there are the occasional variations. In the weekends I reccomend NOT to take the Panag curry (thai dish). Its not bad, but in the weekends tehy have a different thai chef. I eat here frequently and I prefer the flavoring of the other chef :-) The portions do tend to have small variations, sometimes they are truly huge, sometimes just about adequate. Once you know the difference, you know. The restaurant is nicely decorated and this creates a good atmosphere. An ownership change has seen a reduction of serving staff and this sometimes has a negative effect on waiting times. Surprisingly they managed to keep a high level of food quality and taste. Prices are a few swiss franks per main course higher than comparable prices in other swiss based chinese or thai restaurants but they are fully in line with Zurich prices which makes them seem expensive to some people. I find the quality and taste of the food to be authentic and at a consistently high level (even including the weekend chef) and worth every cent (or Rappen). In a lot of chinese restaurants I find that they do two or three dishes exceptionally well and the rest is mediocre. In this place I have at least 8 dishes I find they do extremely well. Recommendations: Malay Chicken, Panang Gai, Shaday (beef or chicken), Fired shrimp with Garlic and Pepper, Heijiao chicken, Duck in coconut sauce, Fried beef strips in a sour and sweet sauce (not same as sweet and sour). Lunch buffet: Quality of the food in the medium poor segment. I went there again because I think you have to give everyone a second chance, but they failed again the second time. Not recommended at midday.

Extremely disappointed, been going to this restaurant for 15 years, it had changed owners many times but was always very good in every aspect until now. Recently it was renamed to Thai Style with new owners/management. It seems there are half the staff now, one poor waitress to serve the complete restaurant. Meat was found in my vegetarian order, not acceptable at all. Attention to guests is almost absent. The menu is limited in comparison to previous owners but worst still there is NO dessert menu, simply an offer of ice creams. It’s hard for the new owners to meet the previous high standards but not even offering a dessert menu is a big mistake. I hope the new owners can read their customers. A disappointed evening for a couple who chose this restaurant on one of their very rare child-free nights.

No comparison at all to the “old” Asia Lotus! No interest in guests (had to wait a long time despite calling). In addition, with a reservation they wanted to seat us at a table with other guests we didn't know without any distance. That's it; never again...

Asia Lotus was my favorite Asian restaurant. I was there today for the first time after the reopening. The food was now prepared completely differently, carelessly and very simply, not like back then. Unfortunately the food didn't taste good. Too bad. The service was very friendly. I still wish the new owner much success.

A rich buffet service, where you can even serve yourself twice. A menu, with different courses and quality of curry, is however present, professional and kind. The food was excellent, for lovers of Thai cuisine.

Something changed at the restaurant - we're not sure if it was the chef or owner- but the food at the new Asia lotus is really not good. The flavors were completely off for all three dishes we ordered. We were extremely dissatisfied and ended up throwing away all three dishes. We've had and enjoyed Asia lotus many times over the last years, but unfortunately we won't be returning.

...or new Asian style....Crispy duck...once with fried rice, once with fried noodles. Well...the duck was OK, the rice too. The noodles were packed into a small round rice bowl and could only be served in lumps. The quality would have been acceptable if everything hadn't been served in completely cold plates. We complained about this... a coffee as a sorry... no... an expresso instead... and paid for... it didn't taste good either... no wonder... it was a caffeine-free one We didn't order like that... 😝....Asia Lotus...Bye Bye and for us it's no longer worth a visit. For 150.- without wine...def. too much for what is offered.

Asia Lotus is now called Thai Style... Asia Lotus had VERY good dishes. What's on offer now is just some crap that has NOTHING to do with Thai cuisine.

Food good but way too expensive. I ordered sweet/sour chicken but didn't get what I actually ordered and then at a price of 9 Fr more. Splashed white wine 12.50 Fr way too expensive. Ice cubes without asking about 6 pieces and more. A bottomless impudence. The guest is really being ripped off. But what is really a disgrace: Receipts VARIOUS...SIMPLY 1FR. CHARGED. TIPS That is not how it works. I will never eat there again. I'd rather go back to Suan Long (the previous restaurant was great) which is now in Opfikon.

Waren am 25.12.2019 dort essen. Der Service war sehr gut und das Essen hervorragend. Zur Vorspeise kann ich die gemischte Variation für 2 Personen nur empfehlen. Achtung... die Portionen sehen zwar nicht gross aus... Aber man ist danach sehr gut gesättigt!

The food was really good and beautifully presented. Nevertheless, a lot has to change for me to come back. I would like the staff to be less hectic. When we arrived I hadn't even taken off my jacket before the Sprise card was handed to me. As soon as I sat down, I was asked three times by different people if I wanted something to drink, even though I explained that I wanted to choose my food first. Furthermore, the plate I received wasn't clean, so when I asked for a clean one they looked at me strangely.

Ich würde am liebsten dieses Restaurant mit Null Punkten bewerten, wenn es gehen würde.Heute 22.12.2019 waren wir zu dritt mit Freunden bei Asia Lotus und wurden mal wieder enttäuscht.Ein schlechter Punkt ist zum Beispiel diese Ladyboy Kreation.Extrem unfreundlich.Das Zweite wäre, wir hatten alle Haare im Essen. Ich weiss nicht, was die in der Küche anstellen. Eventuell sind die Köche Affen.Ich bin mir zu 100% sicher, dass ich dieses Restaurant nie wieder besuchen werde.Totaler Abturn.Ps: Untersucht das Essen jedes mal nach Haaren.

The best Thai food I've eaten out of Thailand, strongly recommend

This restaurant offers an excellent quality of Asian food. I go from time to time with business colleages or I take my family's favorite at home as they offer take away. In sommer it is nice outside.

Gemischter Salat auf zu kleinen Teller serviert. 2 Tomaten und 2 Gurken Scheiben sowie nur kabis. Ist kein Salat. Masaman, oh Schreck mit bratensauce hergestellt. Kartoffel nicht geschält kein Geschmack Huhn war so klein gut für 1 Jährige Kinder. Alles in allem eine Katastrophe.

An Asian restaurant where you can eat well, but the price level is on the higher side. But the dishes are really good and the selection is also considerable. The service is friendly, but unfortunately not always attentive. After eating we had to ask for a cloth ourselves to clean the table, which we soiled slightly. When the weather is nice you have the opportunity to eat outside in the garden. The restaurant has its own parking spaces.

Wir waren früher Stammgäste (mind. zweimal-dreimal pro Monat) in diesem sehr guten Thai Restaurant. Es gab da das beste Pad Thai in der ganzen Stadt.Nun waren wir am 6.8.2019 wieder dort. DEFINITIV das LETZTEMAL!Die giftige Chefin (Ladyboy) gab uns einen schlechten Platz inmitten anderer Gäste (wir waren zu viert). Als ich sagte, dass wir diesen Platz nicht wollen (da im hinteren Teil alles leer war) und gehen würden, da platzierte sie/er uns widerwillig an einem der vielen freien 4er Tisch.Das Personal spricht praktisch KEIN Wort deutsch und auch English verstehen sie nicht richtig. Praktisch immer kommt etwas falsch. Dann sind die sonst so lächelnden Thai Frauen unaufmerksam, und kein Lächeln, keine Kopfneigung oder Händefaltung, was früher äusserst aufmerksam und freundlich war.Das gesamte Personal wurde ausgewechselt, als der Ladyboy neu im Restaurant begonnen hat zu arbeiten. Wir haben nichts gegen ihn/sie, aber wenigstens freundlich und lächeln könnte er.An besagtem Abend dann bestellten wir 4 Pad Thai (mit Ente, mit Poulet, mit, Crevetten, mit Rind) Es kam zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten auf den Tisch und nicht in der bestellten Variante. Auch die etwa dazu bestellten frischen Chili waren vergessen. zweimal fragten wir nach. Nach dem dritten Nachfragen kamen dann einige Chilis. Da wir sehr scharfes Essen lieben, versuchten wir nochmals etwas frisch geschnittenen Chili zu bestellen. Nach 2 Versuchen kam dann eine Chile Schote. Wir bestellten dann nochmals ein drittes Schälchen, das dann kam.Schockiert war ich, als dann die Rechnung gekommen ist. Der Chili wurde extra verrechnet (1x Zutaten a Fr. 1.-). Eigentlich lächerlich, Aber das war der Gipfel. Wir essen sehr viel asiatisch (mein Partner ist aus Indonesien) und wenn wir auswärts essen, bevorzugen wir die asiatische Küche. Aber noch nie in meinem Leben (bin über 60) ist mir dies irgendwo auf der Welt passiert, dass ich für Chili extra bezahlen musste.Ich habe dann die giftige Chefin gefragt, was dieser Betrag sei, da sagte sie, dass der Chili zu bezahlen sei. Spätestens da hätte sie realieren müssen, dass man dies bei Gästen, die so häufig kommen, nicht machen darf.Das Essen ist auch deutlich schlechter geworden, aber immerhin noch mittelmässig (früher Extraklasse). Was aber nicht geht ist, dass die Bedienung so schnippisch und unfreundlich ist, dass niemand richtig Deutsch versteht und die Bestellungen praktisch immer falsch serviert werden.Wir werden NIE mehr hingehen, solange diese giftige, unfreundliche Chefin dort ist und mit ihrer eingebildeten, arroganten Art auch alle das andere Thai-Personal verdirbt.Ich muss die vielen schlechten Kommentare echt bestätigen:giftige, nicht kompetente Chefin (Ladyboy)unfreundliches Personal mit schlechten Deutsch- und EnglishkenntnissenFrüher immer eine Freude dort zu Essen, auch mit fröhlichem Personal, die die Freude und den Respekt gegenüber dem Gast zeigen konnten, uns zugebunden haben etc.Jetzt ist alles NICHT MEHR LOHNENSWERT.Es ist schade fürs Geld und die Laune.Dear Manager of the Asia Lotus: i think you should really think about to change your concept and sometime you have to ask why the guest are not coming anymore.in my report i told you why.

Unfreundlich schon beim parkieren hat die möchte-gern chefin mich angeschnauzt.Nie wieder im LOTUS !!

Früher war es echt gut. Sind gestern wieder mal essen und sind extrem enttäuscht gewesen. Es hat sich massiv verschlechtert. Es fängt mit der Bedienung an, die einem nicht richtig versteht. Wir haben 1 Vorspeiseplatte und 2 Hauptgänge bestellt. Es wurde die Platte und 1 Hauptgericht(Shrimps) zusammen gebracht. Darauf mussten wir ihnen sagen das die Shrimps eine Hauptspeise ist, und mit der ander Hauptspeise gebracht werden soll. Als die Vorspeiseplatte auf den Tisch gestellt wurde fiel eines der Satay Spiese auf den Boden. Die Serviceangestellte lachte nur und verschwand. Wir mussten eine andere Serviceangestellte darauf aufmerksam machen um den Missgeschick zu reinigen. Und nur nach wiederholten mitteilen hat sie uns dann gesagt sie bringe 1 neuer Spies. Aber nicht nur die Bedingungen ist schlechter sondern auch das Essen. Bei der Vorspeise wurden 4 Soucen dazu gebracht. Dabei war Ketchep und Balsamico!!! Als wir die Bedingungen danach fragten, sagte sie nur das 4 Soucen dabei sind damit wir selber entscheiden können, lächelte und ging wieder. Bei der Hauptspeise ging's weiter.. sie brachten die frietierten Shrimps, die vermutlich die längste Zeit unter der Wärmelampe lagen, und die waren natürlich ziemlich ausgetrocknet. Im Gegensatz zur Ente die in einer verdünnte Souce serviert wurde. Kurz zusammengefasst. Absolut schlechte Bedinung, und das Essen sehr verbesserungswürdig.Asia Lotus hat uns das letzte mal gesehen.

Wir sind schon einige Jahre immer recht zufrieden gewesen. Mal sehr gut, mal okay, selten schlecht. Unser letzter Besuch war leider nicht so toll! Draussen im Garten gibt es an den 4er-Tischen leider nur Holzbänke - geht gar nicht! Ferienzeit, nur halb voll, haben wir uns selber geholfen und zwei einzelne Stühle von einem leeren 2er-Tisch ausgetauscht. Als endlich eine Bedienung auftaucht, macht sie nur Grimassen, statt uns behilflich zu sein! Vorspeise Larb-Gai ist gut, schön scharf, jedoch sehr übersichtlich! Das rote Curry bestellen wir bewusst etwas pikanter, da wir gern scharf mögen. Leider ist dieses Hauptgericht dann alles andere als scharf. Auf unsere Reklamation meint die Kellnerin schnippisch, sie sei nicht von der Küche! Das war alles. Es hat nicht viele Gäste - aber genug Personal herum stehen. Die unterhalten sich und kichern auf Thai herum. Auch der Lady-Man wirkt nicht sympathisch. Man bekommt den Eindruck, dass niemand wirklich Spass am Job hat. Das Personal wurde offenbar Anfang Jahr komplett ausgetauscht - früher war alles besser!

Nous avons été manger hier soir avec notre ami de passage à Zürich.Complètement par hasard nous avons décidé de ne pas trop nous éloigné de son hôtel.Et nous avons eu raison car ce restaurant Thaïe est vraiment très bon. La nourriture est très bien présentée et surtout cuisinée de façon très fine.Les parfums recherchés dans ce type de cuisine sont bien présents.Tout a été très bon,frais.Le cadre est joli.Le service a été très agréable aussi.Bonne adresse pour un prix extrêmement démocratique quand on sait que nous sommes en Suisse.

Once upon a time, we were our favorite Thai. The food has deteriorated extremely and unfortunately so has the service. A month ago it was already inadequate, but this evening the bow was exceeded. The green curry was not green curry, but floating chicken in pure oil. Totally unacceptable and I'm really not picky about it. The well-intentioned criticism stated succinctly that this has to be the case. Our neighbors at the table heard the complaint and said that they too had to revise their previous good experiences, that they were no longer satisfied and would probably not eat here again. It's a shame, I've never been served something as bad as today in my entire life.
