AYVERDI'S in Zürich

Hello, today I had a terrible experience in this store. I placed my order 30 minutes before pickup at 8:00 p.m. At 8:00 p.m. I was waiting at the counter for my food. A pizza was taken out of the oven, but it seemed like the mushrooms on it had been forgotten. After a brief discussion, the mushrooms were simply slapped onto the pizza and served to the customer. An employee mentioned something about "poison" to the customers. Then several employees gathered and began to tear apart the chicken pieces one by one. When I looked closer, it looked anything but edible. It seemed kind of gooey. I'm not 100% sure if the chicken was replaced after that. After seeing this, I pointed out to the employee taking out the orders that I wanted my kebab with regular meat. It then turned out that a Dürüm was already ready for collection. She said to her colleague: "He saw the thing with the chicken." From that moment on I couldn't understand the world anymore and was just shocked. When my order was ready the fries were missing. I went back in and pointed it out to her. There was also mayo and ketchup in the bag. She questioned the customer and said in a funny voice, "There's sauce, but no fries?" I knew there was no point in complaining to her, so I'm writing this review even though I don't usually write one! Ayverdis was one of my favorite shops in Zurich. Now I won't think about eating in Oerlikon anymore. Too bad. Also, my kebab was somehow cooked incorrectly, with too much sauce, everything thrown in unevenly. Kind regards and Ramadan Mubarak.

Ayverdis Oerlikon is a great kebab shop with takeaway options. The fresh ingredients, generous portions and authentic taste make it a popular destination for delicious food. The staff is always very friendly, it's always a pleasure to eat there! Unique in taste, I can only recommend it.

Don't quite understand the hype. the meat was fatty, sauce nothing special, paid 2.50 for 1 teaspoon of guacamole. The flatbread broke off immediately because it had probably been in the oven for too long. There are much better and cheaper ones!

A bit expensive... A kebab costs CHF 15.50, but I think the service staff is great. 👍🏽🫡

Great place for great shawarma (doner kebab). Clean. Nicely decorated and comfortable setting areas for casual dinner or quick bite. Plenty of choices and very well organized order process (machine). My favorite is the gourmet truffle kebab roll. Highly recommended 👌

Unfortunately, meat is only heated with water on a hot plate. For me it has nothing to do with kebab. Prices far too high for quality.

Some of the best kebabs I've eaten in Zurich! Ayverdi's is very popular at lunchtime and it's sometimes a miracle to find a free seat. Unfortunately you can't reserve tables, but with a little patience you're sure to find something. In summer, Ayverdis sets up additional tables outside. The kebabs themselves are really tasty and have everything you need. Juicy meat (in large quantities), fresh salad, delicious sauces. I recommend trying the gourmet versions, e.g. B. with truffles or with cream cheese & honey. You definitely won't go out hungry. The service is very nice. The last time I ordered I got a second drink for free! Highly recommended and I will certainly come back often.

The best kebab I've eaten so far. The ingredients taste fresh. The sauces were homemade. The dosage of all ingredients are coordinated and round off the taste experience. Employees/service friendly and clean appearance. So far I have only ordered a kebab in flatbread. This is on collection. Price performance is rather expensive, but I'd be happy to come back.

On my child's recommendation, I visited Ayverdis in Oerlikon for the first time. Unfortunately, the first contact wasn't promising, but I was ready to try the "best kebab in Zurich". Even though the shop was almost empty, I waited more than 20 minutes for my simple kebab for 16 CHF and coke for 5 CHF. My thoughts were that there were probably people in the back of the kitchen slaughtering and preparing a calf 😝, but instead it was just one employee who seemed half asleep and had little desire to prepare the kebab. I had ordered a kebab in flatbread with a little salad and spicy, but for 16 CHF I got a salad with little meat, great. In short, the quality was below average and the taste also left something to be desired. While young people may come here to meet and make their presence felt, for me Ayverdis is way behind the much smaller kebap houses in Basel, Buchs AG, Stefa, Rüti, etc. in terms of quality. The concept has long been seen at McDonald's and Burger King, but that doesn't interest me. I want an ambience where I can feel the real taste and smell of kebab. Using Swiss veal and pulp for this price is nonsense. They certainly can't count on me as a customer anymore.

Ordering at the ordering terminal is not that easy; the menu navigation in the ordering process could definitely be simplified here. My food was of good quality, the meat was at a pleasant temperature. I found the preparation time to be reasonable. The restaurant was extremely clean, the tables were wiped down and there were no leftovers from the previous guest on the floor. All in all an experience. Bon appetite

Kebab is really tasty and has a few different variations. Allow for a little waiting time for takeaway and the price is rather high but it's worth it.

The concept is cool: like at McD or BK, you can put together and order your food on monitors. But does that justify a price of 16 Chf for a kebab box? The high prices are probably also due to the (too) many staff. I would even be willing to pay a little more because of the cool location, but unfortunately the consistency of the meat is a bit chewy, both here and in Badenerstrasse. Conclusion I'll come back, but there are definitely better kebabs in terms of taste.

21.50 for pocket bread + drink... you can also get it cheaper. Kebab tasted ok, nothing special. I've had much better ones at a better price. Value for money not guaranteed.

Great kebabs and other things with a restaurant feel. Something different than the usual kebab shop (not meant in a negative way!). It can be eaten in the restaurant or you can order in advance or take away from the restaurant. Food is great, highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the prices for the food are extremely overpriced and the taste is one of the biggest disappointments ever. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Ayverdis at all.

It was one of the best doner kebabs I have ever eaten in my life. The bread is also delicious, but I recommend you eat it as a wrap.

I can't understand the 25 minute wait for a classic Dürüm at lunchtime... plus from 16.- upwards... the ambience and food is very good!

The taste of the food was very good and the staff were very friendly. However, when I left the restaurant I had extreme stomach pains which have lasted until now (1 day later).

Definitely tastes great. Unfortunately, at peak times I often find that the contents of the kebab are cold.

Came to this place and had very nice food and ayran. The restaurant was not very tidy, and we went through 4 sets of cutleries to find something clean. Very crowded and loud, so not the best if you’re looking for a place to relax a bit. But again, the food is very very good.

Unfortunately, this is the third time I've gotten the wrong kebab... I'm having a bit of trouble with a lot of people and I'm glad to be outside again quickly and unfortunately I only noticed it on the way home. The food itself is really good, but it's just a shame because it costs so much if you get the wrong thing. If you get it under control again, I can give a better rating!

The absolute most expensive & delicious kebab I have ever eaten. You easily pay twice as much as a kebab shop in the country, but it was really worth the money to me. No other kebab comes close to this one!

We went to Ayverdi's this Sunday evening, January 14th, 2024, with high expectations, as we had already heard a lot of good things about the founding story and the success of the brothers. Service/Order: I didn't find the ordering process pleasant because of the huge panel. The restaurant was packed and there were always new customers. That was quite a push to have to complete the order quickly on the panel. I would have liked to have special requests, such as no sauces and a lot of tomatoes. It was confusing when ordering and wasn't entirely clear to me. I wanted to order without sauce, but then I had sauce twice in the order and food inside. It was probably my mistake. I thought the waiting time of about 20 minutes was ok. Eat: I looked for a long time for the typical kebab meat taste with roasted aromas in the kebab. Only in the middle of the kebab (in the flatbread) was the ratio of taste and meat very good for me. The taste of the meat and also the taste/smell of the bread were lost on me and my companion. Somehow just not that much intense meat taste. As if the meat was just seared very quickly. The shop was completely full and one meal after the other was being served over the counter. I can well imagine that the employees could hardly keep up with the cutting and it had to be done quickly. The size of the kebab is very generous! The fries were very fine, but had a lot of salt on them. Not ideal for children. Ambiance: It was very crowded and really loud. Left and right we heard various customers' cell phones with loud videos. For me it's a sensory overload. I felt like I was at McDonnald's: order quickly, eat quickly and then leave. I missed the Turkish flair. Very clean! Staff: The staff was nice. However, I barely had any contact as ordering and picking up the food was impersonal. I didn't see any staff at the tables in the restaurant, apart from the cleaning lady for a brief moment. We were very anonymous here.

The concept is really cool and the different types of kebab are also delicious. Employees are super friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. Rather on the expensive side compared to others. The quality (and size) of Dönner is very good, but also comparable to other providers (e.g. Zurich Bistro). Fries very fresh and well seasoned. What makes this place different (compared to other usual kebab places) is the cleanliness! All areas were very clean

15 francs for a mediocre kebab. Never mind, it's so much better! Overrated juice drawer. Anyone who has had a kebab worth 15.- has never eaten a real kebab!

Great kebab place. First time to go to the Oerlikon restaurant. I usually go to the one in Wiedikon whenever I'm in Switzerland. The food is consistently good.

Always a blast coming here, the kebab is perfectly done, good quality (14 chf per Kebab), I love truffle pommes they’re amazing how they do it here. And they’re really fast if you think of the amount of people that they have (yesterday were like 40 clients seated and 4 persons to prepare the kebabs) and I’ve waited like 10 min max

One of the worst kebab I ever had and totally overpriced. The restaurant is nice. Good kebab is not easy to find in Switzerland, but this one is certainly not a good reference.

One of the best Kebabs I had so far. The atmosphere is fantastic and the idea with the airport code for the order is amazing. The kebab tasted absolutely fantastic. You can see that it is prepared with love. The pommes with truffle were amazing too. If you love kebab then this is the place to go. Highly recommanded.

Yes, unfortunately it just became expensive otherwise. Yes, it makes it slow and enjoyable and not just one number and next.... And more meat, instead of more salad, or ask people who wants what more, so that it all balances out.

The doner they serve is a mix between chicken and beef also it’s highly customizable you can add and remove so many things its amazing and delicious , also the baklava ice cream is good The prices are not cheap tho , my Doner costs 23CHF but i did add alot of stuff in it

In this kebab shop you will experience a real treat. The juicy meat skewers are masterfully prepared and wrapped in soft flatbread with fresh ingredients. However, a more comfortable interior could complete the overall experience. Nevertheless, this kebab shop is an excellent choice for everyone who appreciates authentic enjoyment.

Food was very well done, but in my opinion it's not worth it for this price.

I went back after a long time because a friend's story convinced me to stop by. I regretted the visit. Mainly because of the service: it was exceptionally rude, which I also observed with other guests; In particular, the gentleman was visibly annoyed when the food was delivered. When you obviously wanted to pick up the food too early, he stubbornly replied that you had only recently ordered (approx. 10 minutes had passed) and it couldn't be ready already , without explaining that you can compare the code from the receipt on the screens, or so you can know when your personal meal is ready. The food itself, or Meat is mediocre/acceptable; like any other kebab, but not worthy of the upscale advertising (oversalted and overpriced), at least for the type of meat/minced product that is offered to you. The ambience is the only thing that defines this store; pleasant lights, high walls, clean tables etc.

You have the experience...a simple calculation...inform people when ordering that they have to wait at least 30 minutes (I was able to order straight away without queuing) sorry, that's not possible at all. Yogurt sauce was also out at 7 p.m.?! Finally waited 40 minutes...Kebab and fries were good as always.

Very flavourful food, well prepared, well thought out, effortless process, allowing customers to focus on the key point of why they are there. The only issue I found was a fly caught inside the restaurant enclosure without being able to figure out where to escape from. 😄

I had a kebab, and I must say I don't understand all this hype around them. It was good, don't get me wrong, but nothing special.

I picked up kebab from Ayverdi's in Oerlikon 2 weeks ago and was completely satisfied with the taste. At the beginning, order processing is similar to that at Mc Donalds. You choose at the ordering station (touch display) what you would like (+ extras or what you don't want) and pay for the order by card or however you want. The order will then be placed in a queue and you will be notified via an online form when the order is ready for collection. The taste of the kebab was excellent, both the meat, the bread and the sauces were very good. There are clear differences in quality in Zurich and the surrounding area, especially when it comes to bread and sauce, whereas the kebab in Switzerland is generally a little worse than, for example. B. in Germany. Ayverdi's can compete very well with German doner kebabs and I fully recommend it. We will definitely come back PS: The baklava was also very tasty because it wasn't too sweet but had a rather dominant nutty taste

I don't like the new pocket bread anymore. It just doesn't have any real taste anymore, it's very bland, especially if the pocket bread isn't fresh out of the oven and is cold. The meat and ingredients no longer come into their own with the new pocket bot. I have known Ayverdi's Taschenbrot for many years, where there was only a branch in Affoltern. During that time, every bite was a pleasure, but over the years it wasn't the same. But now there is practically no difference to other kebab offers. Would recommend going back to the first pocket bread where Ayverdis made it big.

Great place, good food, quick friendly appearance. They have really built a strong concept that has improved and expanded over the years! If you want a great kebab shop you should definitely take a look there. Anyone who wants to eat well anyway! Despite the store being full, the cart runs perfectly, waiting time 10 minutes, absolutely within limits for such a large restaurant. Thumbs up really good, over the years you've gotten even better and clearer! Bravo

Super Kebapstore. Modernly furnished. By this in my opinion also expensive. However, it is worth it. The quality of the food is good. The interior does not correspond to me so. Too narrow, much too loud. The staff are not really particularly friendly or helpful.

Unfortunately, as is often the case in Switzerland, some of the meat is cut raw. Let the spit turn for another 2 minutes...The quality of the meat is certainly in need of improvement. Competitors now have steak skewers, which is what I would expect for this price.

The kebab was very delicate and made a good amount. 😋 🔝🤩 I find ordering via your tablet on site to be pleasant and very eloquent. When I order via tablet, I can see which sauces and other ingredients are possible. A possible request like at the counter is eliminated. 👍

The best kebab I've ever had. Who knew a little mozzarella could be such a big update. I've been there several times now and the performance has remained consistently great. The price is also justified.

There are better and cheaper kebabs. The ambience is right and good music. Here you pay, for the most part, for the name.

I went there to eat Kebab, and disliked it completely. It has cocktail sauce instead of sauces that correspond to Turkish and Arabian culture. Then, I started to like buying French fries for take away. They were not cheap but they were really good. I bought them 2 or 3 times until one day they gave me the take away box half full. Today I went to try their baklava, and it was very bad. It was very cold, just taken out of the fridge, and had a taste of garlic and kebab spices, which hints that it was probably uncovered in their fridge, next to the seasoned meat.

It's difficult for me to rate Turkish restaurants as having lived in East London, Mangal 1 is simply the best restaurant I've ever tasted a kebab in (and probably always will be). Nonetheless, the kebab I had at AYs was definitely up there! Very tasty indeed and packed with fresh ingredients. Whilst in Zurich we stayed at the nearby Ibis, which was only a 2 min walk, however it's definitely worth a visit from whatever part of Zurich you are staying in. Highly recommended!
