Backpackers Lucern in Luzern

I had an incredibly great stay. The 4 bed rooms are all newly renovated and each bed offers privacy thanks to a small wall that can be pushed in front of the headboard. There are lockable compartments for each guest in the room. There are two kitchens that are generously furnished, as well as dining areas and a kind of living room and balcony. The interior design is excellent and the division of the rooms is homely, so you can feel at home. You are right on the lake. Highly Recommended. There's probably more that I didn't see since I was only there one night. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area. A little tip for those traveling by car. There are parking spaces in the street behind the Backpackers where you can buy a day ticket. This saves parking fees.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Backpackers Luzern hostel and I recommend it to everyone, who is looking for a hostel near the lake. :) We were welcomed so warmly by the lady at the reception, when we arrived at the hostel yesterday in the evening. She gave us nice fresh bed accessories and towels and explained everything very well, how to use the room keys and where we could fine nice brunch options in the city the next day. The hostel doesn't offer breakfast, that's why we asked for yummy options nearby. The lady at the reception took her time and shared her valuable Lucerne knowledge with us + on top of that some precious Swiss German skills. That was so kind. I liked our room with the huge double bed for two people. We had a metal closet, where we could store all of our clothings. Bedside lamps with a warm light standing next to the bed. There was also a table with two chairs where you could relax. Everything was clean and the shared bath rooms as well. I had such a cosy night and had a fresh start filled with full energy into the next day. I also enjoyed the view from the balcony. I really liked the overall ambience of the hostel. The decoration was very inviting, plants everywhere, cool postcards to take home, suitcases stacked in a vintage look right next to the reception, a kitchen for cooking with important household appliances such as a kettle, sofas and also a play corner with board games and a separate smaller play corner for children. The location was alright. The hostel is not super directly located in the center of the city, but since Lucerne is a small and cosy city, where everything is reachable easily, we enjoyed the short walk of just 15 minutes along the beautiful Vierwaldstätter Lake to the city center with all the cute swans swimming around. Very beautiful hostel in Luzern, close to Lurcern station. We stayed in 2 bed dormitory and the location is adjacent to Lurcern lake. If you want to have budget stay then this place can be preferred. Stayed in October 2023.

The BEST HOSTEL ever!! I’ve stayed in many hostels and that one was the best one! I found it through booking and the price for the service and the room was an amazing deal.value for money 100%. The room was so clean, and the view was amazing. From my room, I could see directly the lake . In the room, there was also a desk and its bed have its personal lamp so you don’t annoy the other roommates during the night. The bathroom had always hot water, and it was perfectly clean. I didn’t stay at the public spaces, but they were beautifully decorated and neat. In most of the hostels it’s just a bed, a kitchen and a bathroom but in that one It felt that they actually made an effort to make it comfortable and enjoyable. I had a great stay there I would definitely recommend it without a second thought.

This was my first time using Backpackers, so I wasn't sure if it was like a hostel. There are two shared kitchens and they were well maintained. The accommodation was nice because it had a veranda, but in order for three people to stay together, someone had to go up to the high second floor, which was inconvenient. It was nice that there were many shower rooms and toilets so I could use them right away without waiting. The location is a bit further from Lucerne Station than expected. It is a good idea to check the check-in time carefully before checking in.

One of the nicest places of our trip. The rooms were spacious and everything was clean and tidy; the bed was comfortable and the view of the lake is stunning. It was warm and noise insulation was excellent as we didn't even realised it was pouring outside until we open the window. The hosts were helpful and kind, offering us a room upgrade as they were not fully booked that evening. The only thing I'm sad is that we couldn't stay longer. Luzern has so much to offer and next time we'll definitely be staying here again. (I believe this is standard in the area but I'll mention it anyway: for your stay they'll give you a pass/card. You can access many discounts within town and also ride the public transport for free!)

The establishement was very good. It has a charming atmosphere. The woman at the receptionist was nice. From a quality-price standpoint, it was excellent. Though, there was a bit of dust under the bed :( but still it was fine.

Around 1.5 km from the Train station, the hostel is located alongside Lake Lucerne at a calm place, provides neat and clean dormitories, washrooms and a self-service kitchen associated with a decent dining/ sitting area. The managers/ front desk staff (Andrea and Marina) were courteous and nice to me. Thanks and best wishes to Andrea and Marina from Pakistan.

It's a really friendly and clean place. It's a bit far from Lucerne Station, but it's worth a walk to see the scenery.

I thought this hostel was near to the station, but it's so-near-yet-so-far. On foot, it took me around 12-15minutes; but walking to the "nearest" bus stop took 7minutes. The hiccup I encountered was at check-in. I didn't realise that the desk was not manned from 2pm-5pm. I reached around 3pm+ n had to wait in the lobby until a staff member came in. The 4-pax dorm was of decent size, and beds were sturdy. But there's no electrical outlet on the lower bunks, except at the table. Lockers in the room was very useful too. I like that it's a mixed design of sinks, toilets, showers. And there's wall-mounted hair dryers at the clean and bright washing area too! I found (non-stop floating) debris in the electric kettle and pointed out to staff. It's either nobody reported, or nobody noticed or they didn't care cos on the day of checkout, the kettle was still there. Overall, the stay was comfortable, but the next time when I return to Luzern, probably I would stay elsewhere, if I feel lazy to walk to the bus stop.

No courteous service, no matter-of-fact staff on the phone. Short-term cancellations due to illness were not accepted and not respected, although the hostel could take the reservation back.

Da in dieser Zeit wegen Corona nicht sehr viele Leute da waren hatten wir auch ein eigenes Zimmer mit Balkon und die Küche war immer frei damit wir uns etwas leckeres Kochen konnten. Leider durfte man auf dem Balkon nicht Rauchen da man aber gleich gegenüber eines Parkes und dem Vierwaldstättersee war, war dies nicht so tragisch.
