Bao Gong in Spiez

Chinese people can come and eat Chinese food with confidence! Very tasty! Especially the roast duck recommended by the chef. The duck skin is fragrant and crispy, and the duck meat is very tender. The level is even better than that of Chinese restaurants! I’m so happy to be able to eat such satisfying Chinese food in a small Swiss town.

Six of us went there to try it out, but unfortunately most of us were disappointed. Eating meat has little to do with meat and you can't call it Chinese either. The service wasn't very friendly either. Unfortunately I can't recommend the restaurant so I'd rather go 2 km further to Beluga in Hani.

A Chinese restaurant that discriminates against Chinese! We obviously ordered before the foreigners but had to wait for the dinner before them. After waiting for 40 minutes, we asked the female waitress how long our meal would be. She also asked what we wanted to do. She was told that we had to wait until other customers were served. We ordered fried rice and fried noodles, but we waited so long and had such a bad attitude... and then simply left!

Discriminating against Chinese people. After waiting for half an hour, they didn’t even give them a glass of water. They even cooked the foreigners’ meals first!

Very nice staff, food very good and yet inexpensive. Unfortunately during the week it's often almost completely empty, which I really don't understand 😕

We were happy to eat there as a family of five because the food was said to be very good. Unfortunately it didn't come to that. The condition treated us very unfriendly, even at the reception, and walked away from us during the ordering process without a word, annoyed, because our children hadn't quite decided which menu they wanted. It also smells like a toilet. A pity! We didn't get to eat anymore. We got up straight away and left. You don't have to put up with that!

Most of the dishes are exactly the same as those eaten in Asia, even better than some local Asian restaurants, and there are candle holders to keep the ordered dishes hot, which is considerate. However, the water is provided by the cup. It feels like it’s troublesome for the boss to run around. Next time, you can prepare a pot. If someone needs it, just give a pot directly. You don’t have to run around.

Very long waiting time, more than an hour after ordering even though there were only a few guests in the restaurant. Drink selection limited. No children's portions. Prices are premium, I'm sure I won't be coming back.

The food is the best that we had in Switzerland, and my Asian tummy can totally testify it. The meat is tender and richly flavoured. We loved it and will recommend it to all.

The food was ok, compared to the price the portion was very small, hardly any pieces of meat, we ordered chicken kung pao, it was mentioned spicy but we got it a bit sweet and in that pineapple was also there which I first Times saw.

I was surprised by the small amount of food, we ordered a sweet and sour pork which cost 24ch and had literally 5 pieces of meat, the industrial spring rolls (not homemade) and also very small at the price of 15ch for two mini units, the menu was only in German. As a positive point, they were friendly but I wouldn't go again.

We were there last Sunday and were very impressed. The food was very tasty and there was a large selection! The house wine is also highly recommended and went perfectly with our food! Takeaway is also possible. We'd love to come back!

Wie waren schon mehrmals da Essen und es war jedes mal sehr gut. Die Bedienung ist immer sehr freundlich und es gibt auch eine tolle Auswahl an Gerichten für Vegetarier. Mein Lieblings Gericht ist der fritierte scharfe Tofu.

Wir haben schon mehrmals im Bao Gong etwas zu Essen geholt (Take Away). Die Familie welche das Restaurant führt ist sehr lieb und freundlich! Das Essen schmeckt mir auch sehr. Das Einzige was zu bemängeln ist, ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ich persönlich finde die Gerichte etwas zu teuer.

We received a very friendly welcome and felt very attracted to the atmosphere. The map is very understandable and the advice is optimal. There is nothing to complain about in terms of food and drinks. We were able to enjoy perfect hospitality all around. Thanks.

The high rating must be fake. I would rate it zero star if I could. My wife and I were misled by this fake rating and went to the restaurant for dinner after a long day of travel. The experience was absolutely awful. It started with a cold face of the owner when we entered the restaurant. We had no idea why the owner of the restaurant was so unhappy when she saw us. Since we walked over 20 mins to the restaurant in pouring rain (because upon several days of travel we wanted some authentic Chinese food), we decided to stay in spite of the lack of hospitality. We quietly sat down and waited for 10 minutes. Nobody even bothered to bring us the menu. I walked to the front desk and asked about the menu. This time the owner pointed to a pile of menus with her chin and suggested me pick one up myself. I took the menu and returned to the table. The menu was a disappointment. The dishes on the menu were not authentic Chinese food at all. It seemed that they were crossing a handful of sauces with different meats to create the menu. No idea how could such a restaurant get a 4.2 rating. That's not the worst. We would have tolerated the non-authentic food if they bothered to serve it. But we waited and waited and waited. No one came to our table, not asking what items we wanted, not asking whether we wanted any drinks. Interestingly, a little bit later a white couple walked in and sat down at a table right next to us. This time, somehow magically the owner remembered that she's in restaurant business and walked right past our table to welcome them, give them menus, and asked them what they would like to drink. She then returned to serve drinks to that couple, took their order, and went back to the front desk. In doing so she walked past our table several times but never bothered to stop. My wife and I were astonished by such treatment and finally decided to leave. My wife and I have been to many countries and restaurants. It is the first time that we were treated with utter contempt and negligence like this, as if we were some low life. It was definitely sickening and chilling. Strange enough, we received such treatment in a Chinese restaurant by a fellow Chinese owner! We would not want anyone to be treated this way and that's why we are sharing our experience. It is actually our first review on Google, simply to alert potential customers who can be similarly misled by the 4.2 rating. Beware! =========================== 我们打算同样留下中文的建议给那些看到评分后想要尝试这家餐馆的华人。可惜google review不让我们留下0 star的评价，否则我们一定会打0分的。 这个奇葩的故事是这样开始的。多日的旅行让我们夫妻非常想吃一次正宗的中餐。我们从谷歌里搜到这个这个餐馆，4.2的评分让我们眼前一亮，尽管外边下着小雨，我们还是决定乘坐火车从旁边的因特拉肯赶来。让我们没有想到的是，我们一进这个餐馆的大门，迎面就得到了餐馆老板娘的一个黑脸，好像我们的到来给她带来的不是生意，而是霉运一样。好吧，也许我们多心了。我们很自觉地找了一个桌子安静地坐了下来。然后就是漫长的等待，大概等了10分钟左右，居然没有人来服务，没有菜单也没有人来哪怕说一句话...... 我便自己主动走过去问老板娘有没有菜单，老板娘冷淡的示意我自取，然后就不说话了。我很没趣地拿了菜单回来，然后和妻子打趣道是不是以前在哪里见过这个老板娘，得罪了她？讲实话，拿到菜单后一看，心里就凉了半截，这菜的名字总结下来就是用5-6种酱料炒4-5种肉，豆腐，和虾等，然后就是排列组合。本着对4.2评分的好奇，我们决定还是尝一下味道先，也许味道十分惊艳？接下来又是漫长的等待，大概又过了10分钟，居然还是没人来问我们要点什么...... 然后故事的高潮来了，我们等待的时候进来一对外国人，紧挨着我们坐到了我们的桌子后边，这次老板娘的眼睛居然能看见了！老板娘主动上去搭话，然后问了要喝什么，完全忘记了我们比这对外国人早来很长时间。然后从我们身边走过，依旧一句话都没和我们说，仿佛我们不存在...... 其后她给那对外国人上了饮料等数次从我们桌旁经过，仍然对我们无视。。。又等了大概5分钟后，我们决定离开这家餐馆。 我和妻子去过很多国家旅行，也尝试过各种华人的餐馆。这是平生第一次见到这样开餐馆的，也是第一次在餐馆里感受到了一种赤裸的种族歧视。没想到这一次的经历居然还是在一个华人餐馆里被华人歧视，实在是匪夷所思。这个4.2的评分非常不可信，从菜单看，3分都嫌多，再加上这极品的服务态度，1分我都嫌给多了。中餐馆做成这个老板娘这样，怎么可能会有好评？话说回来，我们进店的时候就发现这个店里的几桌顾客完全没有华人，不知道是不是和这个有关。这是我第一次写这种餐厅的评价，老婆说一定要留一个给以后的华人，爱惜自己的时间和钱包，远离这种奇葩的餐馆。

The Asian/Chinese food restaurant that has verryyy gooooddd taste. Recommended to try! Any asian tourist/visitor in Spiez that craving for asian cuisine, come to this restaurant. We order their Cantonese fried rice, Noodle with pork, Chicken fried rice (with chili/spicy). They also have very chinese decoration and atmosphere like calendar, painting, etc.. Even the tea pot also using an authentic chinese style 👏🏆 Note: I've made the video of the food but it can't be uploaded. so the picture just the screen capture from my video 😏

This Chinese restaurant is very good. If you are from south east asia, you will definitely like the chicken fried rice, cantonese fried rice, noodle with pork. The meat are soft and tastes similar or better compared to most restaurants in Indonesia. If you have the chance to talk with the chef directly, I think you will get customized food tailored very close to your home country in Asia 🙌

It makes a rather modest impression from the outside, but inside the restaurant it's pretty much outdone: Menu offering is convincing and affordable. Friendly and prompt service in a Chinese atmosphere.

Waited far too long for service to come

We have visited this restaurant several times over the past few years. The restaurant offers the classic selection of dishes, i.e. a few basic menus in combination with chicken, beef, pork, etc. The fresh taste of the dishes was positively noticed; this is where the restaurant scores points compared to similar competitors, who may make more compromises when it comes to price . We would have liked to have seen that special something in the menu that sets itself apart from other Chinese restaurants. The hospitality of the operators is remarkable; socially disadvantaged people are also served here, even if the prospect of payment is not particularly high. The restaurant itself is decorated in the usual style and is very clean. We use the sufficiently large guest parking space for our mobile vehicle (maximum height 2m). Conclusion: Anyone who just wants solid Chinese food is well served here.

The order was taken quickly and the drinks and food were quickly at the table. Everything tasted great and there is no reason to complain. Unfortunately only four stars because that certain “something” was missing. Still recommended.
