Was in trouble twice. I ate both osso buco. Absolutely great the first time. The second time I only received some kind of meatballs. No bone, nothing. When I asked the waiter where the bone was, they said it didn't exist. So for me it's more of a ragout and not an osso buco. The taste was okay, but it was just too expensive for a ragout. It's a shame that the quality at Vogeögryff apparently can't be maintained.

A hidden pearl by the Rhine River in Basel: The restaurant is located in the second ancient alley of the Rhine River in the center of the city. The restaurant is designed to be warm and romantic, and the food is served hot. It is delicious and beautiful, especially in large portions. We ordered Autumn game, fried wild boar and stewed venison, served with chestnuts and typical birds in the German-speaking area 🐦 spaetzle noodles are very delicious, the plate is full of autumn flavor, this is a restaurant with both Italian and Swiss styles, look at the seats next to it The spaghetti and pizza we ordered were also very fresh and large portions (the boss lady is from Belgrade, and the portions are typical of their generous portions). The service provided by the boss lady and the other two ladies was also very professional, warm and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended!

The staff were attentive and although there wasnt a free table in the restaurant, nothing was too much trouble. Absolute must if in Basel.

When I'm in Basel again I will definitely visit the restaurant again and will recommend it to anyone who plans to come to Basel again...
