Bären in Einsiedeln

Attentive, friendly service. Nice ambience, great food! Price/performance is right, keep it up, we'll be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, we had to leave the restaurant we were visiting with three people, after 10 minutes a tea was served but after more than 20 minutes the chocolates we had ordered at the same time were not served and we walked past guests twice who were proven to have clearly ordered after us. The restaurant on the upper floor was about 2/3 full at the time we ordered, and the staff was inattentive and inflexible. Despite our repeated contact with the service staff and at the buffet, the drinks that were visibly provided were brought to other tables with the information that they were intended for other tables. We would now start preparing our chocolates, but 'unfortunately' something had been mixed up. We decided not to do that and left the restaurant after almost half an hour without our two drinks.

Really nice looking place with a bakery at the front, tables at the back and a terrace behind. We enjoyed a family lunch very much. A good mixture of light and more filling dishes. Excellent ambience and service.

We ordered a smoothie and something sweet with it. The smoothie was very tasty, but for 8.10, 2 dl a very steep price. We would have expected a little more for the price. The cherry cake was a little too sweet for our taste. I also missed the cherries. The waitress must have had a bad day.

I had breakfast brunch last Sunday and I have to say it was the best. (Not for the first time) If you like different cheeses and breads, there is a LARGE selection available.

Last Sunday 1st floor, left. Disastrous service. Long waiting times. Unfriendly tone and inattentive. Hire more staff!

Very nice restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, good and customer-friendly service and very tasty food. The braised beef and orange risotto are highly recommended. The speed of service can suffer somewhat when there are large numbers of customers. Nevertheless, we would come back at any time and recommend the restaurant without reservation!

Friendly service with good products. At typical local prices

Restaurant, confectionery, cafe and pastry shop, on two levels. All in one place. It seems quite difficult to find a table, but the hosts always find a solution and you don't have to wait that long. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service as well. I ate fish with rice and a very good salad. Schwarzwalder torte lecker! I always come back here with great pleasure, not only to visit the Monastery, but just to serve something good or even take away.

I was really satisfied with the dishes they served here. The ambient of the store was really nice, and there was a tiny play area for kids. However the waiting time took a bit, about 5 - 15 minutes, but besides that, everything in this restaurant is amazing. We will come back here another time

Very neat, the charging options for an electric car are very limited, only one guest can charge and that with 230 volts and 16 A. Charging is free.

Everything was tip top, but it's just a shame that despite the very good overall impression, the egg dishes still have to be paid for extra.

After a hike and a relaxing post bus ride, we stopped at the restaurant. Although the place was busy, we were greeted very friendly and shown to a free table. The dessert we ordered came quickly and tasted very tasty. The selection of fine cakes and patisserie will make any gourmet's heart beat faster. I thought the prices were reasonable and the quality was right for us. Ps. The elevator is 😎.

Very fine baked goods, but they have their price. The sausage salad sandwich was a real highlight and very tasty. Unfortunately, the service, especially outside, leaves a lot to be desired. Waiting 15 minutes for coffee is simply too long. Overall good for the palate, but patience is required.

My wife misread the menu and thought she ordered something else. She didn’t want what was brought to the table so they took it back and she didn’t get anything else. I was still charged for the food. I asked why because that is what she ordered. Then I asked for it back they said sorry that’s it. So be carful if you make a mistake because you can’t understand a different language because there was not a English menu available.

Friendly, clean and the food tastes very good.

Price quality in relation to the place: good but expensive! Good regional dishes and fast but cold service.

We went to the Bären with a valid voucher for a bakery morning. Unfortunately, although the morning was expressly mentioned on the voucher and no amount, we had to pay an additional 4 francs per person. Very petty! Since there isn't even an egg for 33 Fr. and it's not exactly clear what drinks are included in the price, we were disappointed. Despite the very extensive selection, we would not book such a breakfast again... the price/performance ratio is not right for us. It's a shame, it could be more customer-friendly... less patisserie, but an egg would be more obvious for breakfast.

Very good restaurant with very friendly service. The pastry shop is next door and you can buy something delicious beforehand and enjoy it with a coffee in the restaurant. The Bären restaurant is located opposite the monastery, which means you sit in the restaurant directly with a view of the Einsiedeln monastery. It couldn't be nicer!

Cute Café, Cakes & Bakery. Idyllic location across from the square from the Cloister. We had breakfast with fresh breads, ham, bacon and eggs, the fruit, berry and chia bowl plus fresh squeezed OJ and super coffees. The kids have a play area with a smart learning centre too. Excellent facilities and charming decoration.

FOOD: The pastry offering is very good and varied. I appreciate the quiet corners. In summer you should definitely enjoy the terrace. STAFF: The staff is competent and very friendly. LUNCH: There are many people who come here to eat. The kitchen here is TOP. Plates are beautifully decorated. Service top. LOCATION: very close to parking spaces. PARKING: Paid. It has enough. It can be tight on weekends. WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE: Yes including toilets.

Experience report on the terrace facing the street: The cake selection is made at the counter and is also paid for there. You have to bring your own plates. Drinks are ordered on the terrace, served and then paid for by the waitress. Everything tasted very good. The procedure was just a little unusual.

We were here for starting coffee with a SAC hiking group. Everyone commented positively on the large selection of fresh sandwiches, tarts, nut bars and other pastries. Likewise about the quality of the coffee. Everyone was served quickly and friendly. In short: great!!!

The Bären restaurant in Einsiedeln is in a good location, you take the path from the train station up towards the monastery. Lots of shops something there.Toilets clean and contemporary.I would be happy to come back here and recommend it to others.

The Bären restaurant is located opposite Einsiedeln Monastery and is very easy to reach on foot. There is enough parking space on the monastery square. The restaurant has a pastry shop/confectionery with a large selection of delicacies, especially "monastery specialties" etc. The service staff is very friendly. Also highly recommended for families with children.

Excellent seasonal cuisine. We always enjoy coming to the Bären and being pampered. Be it for a snack, lunch or a fine dinner with an excellent drop of wine.

Very centrally located, the “Bäre” is an institution in Einsiedeln. Good home-style food, practical ambience, varied menu at reasonable prices. The restaurant is therefore always well attended.

In the Bären guild house, FRAU-MANN is always served very friendly and competently in the bakery shop and in the hotel restaurant and the food is delicious.

Very nice café and restaurant in the heart of Einsiedeln, a 2-minute walk from the monastery church. In the entrance area on the right is a bakery/pastry shop with very fine baked goods that are traditionally made with a lot of peace and quiet from locally produced flour. The café itself is spacious and also has an outdoor terrace at the back. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating, we were there with several children, so of course we needed extra napkins, plates and cutlery because everyone wanted to try each other's cakes. For the children there is a nice play area with toys and touchscreens under the stairs. Café and cakes were excellent. There is a lift up to the sanitary facilities which is very helpful if you have a buggy with you. We would love to come back there.

Upscale and elegant eatery in the very heart of Einsiedeln, just a few steps from Einsiedeln Kloster/Cathedral. Zunfthaus Baren is tucked away on the first floor, past the bakery. Cozy and welcoming, yet unmistakably upscale vibe. Food and drinks are of stellar quality. Beef burger was moist, succulent and immensely satisfying. Beef soup with mushrooms was truly soul-warming, a must have on a chilly or rainy day. Thumbs up!

Yesterday we were guests in her house and wanted to eat a delicious dessert. 3 times vermicelles with meringues and cream and apple strudel with Valiieglace. After waiting half an hour, the rather snippy service employee came and announced that the apple strudel was now in the oven and that we would probably have to wait another half hour. That was too long, another dessert was ordered. The three vermicelles came without meringues and when we asked, there were a few crumbs on a coffee saucer. I asked if that was for all three, and again I got a snippy answer; yes, that is for all three. She then brought us some more, but our appetite wasn't really there anymore. The whole situation seemed very unpleasant to the four of us and when we, understandably, decided not to tip, the farewell was very icy. Is this how you treat guests?

(My) discovery! I have enjoyed the excellent pumpkin soup several times, which was always served to me with a smile by the very friendly service staff. For me personally, this is a very important point because I want to feel welcome as a guest and this is definitely the case at the Bären Zunfthaus! I also appreciate the “greetings from the kitchen” and the generous number of wonderful, warm rolls that are served with the soup. Truly a remarkable exception! One of the reasons why I always leave a little earlier for my regular appointments in Einsiedeln so that I can visit the Bären guild house to have something to eat. Even with a little less time, I don't miss a short break with a coffee and something sweet (from the rich selection of patisserie). Thank you for your hospitality and see you soon!

Incredible - worth seeing is the variety of delicacies, breads and dessert selections that you see when you enter the store!

I ate game, mushroom soup as a starter and deer as a main course. It tasted good.

Perfect food and service! Immediately again.
