It was an instructive course and a very friendly teacher

My week at the Zurich bar school was an absolute dream. Every day was exciting and I learned so much from Alex that I feel ready to really start my career as a bartender. Hopefully my dream of running my own bar will one day come true.

Alex taught us everything in a great and exciting way. I was thrilled and can highly recommend the course :)

Alex offers an outstanding course that he has been running successfully for years. I can recommend this course to anyone who would like to learn hard and fairly how to become a bartender. Drinks are mixed non-stop here and learning is not only theoretical but also practical! I'd love to come back😉

The bar course with Alex was great fun! We learned a lot of cocktails, how to deal with guests, wine education and much more. The lessons with Alex were very instructive and cool!!!

We were at Funmixing as a group of 7 people. We really liked it. You learn a lot about spirits, cocktails, how to prepare them and get lots of tips for home. All in a relaxed atmosphere. Alex entertained us really well and impressed us with his great specialist knowledge. Of course there will be enough to drink and try 🤭 By the way, chips are also included as a snack and there is a recipe book to take home with you. It was a well-rounded affair. The Zurich Bar School offers an excellent bar professional course. The teaching content is comprehensive and practice-oriented, the course instructors are highly qualified and the atmosphere is motivating. Bar course was great! 5 days of training on drinks (theory and practice), history and etiquette in service - very down to earth

We spent our company party at Alex's and had a great time together. The different cocktail mixes gave you a great insight and were able to try new spirits. The recipe book invites you to try it at home :) I would recommend the course to everyone.

I can only recommend the bar course. Theory and practice are well linked and Alex has exciting experience for practically every topic. During the course you quickly notice that he has a lot of experience in the bar profession. There were 8 of us in the September group, which resulted in a pleasant learning atmosphere.

Cool bartender course with a distinct focus on practical matters. You get a self-developed course book and a recipe book with close to 300 drink recipes. The recipe book is thoroughly curated along drink categories and allows you to put together your own drink menu in case you want to open your own bar. Apart from all the stuff you learn, you also try roughly 120 drinks (obviously only small doses per person otherwise you‘d walk out like a vegetable). Half-day you also spend with a wine expert learning the basics of wine making and trying a few glasses. In a nutshell: Absolute recommendation.

I can only recommend the Funmix course as a company event! Alex gave us a lot of background knowledge and we were able to mix and try many drinks ourselves. Thank you very much again!

Very cool course. You can try a lot of drinks and learn an extraordinary amount. The course materials are excellent. What’s also included is a short wine course. This is also great for non-wine drinkers. The interaction with the course participants is very collegial, which always creates a relaxed atmosphere. The only thing that could be criticized would be the bar stools. These can become a bit uncomfortable over time. It can also get a bit crowded if there are a lot of people taking the course. Again, if there were fewer, you wouldn't be able to try as many drinks because you'd get drunk quicker.

The professional bar course was very interesting, with different stories about various drinks. It was a very educational week with everything you need in terms of prior knowledge to start a job as a bartender. The opportunity to taste the different drinks and the different stories and easy-going personality of the instructor are additional pluses!

I completed the Bar Profi intensive course and it is really recommended. You learn a lot about the production and origin of the spirits, you can mix many cocktails yourself and of course taste them. There were also good tips and tricks for future bar life.

The course served me for travel purposes and work abroad and therefore gave me a lot of input thanks to the experiences from the course. The course is very intensive and was a lot of fun.

The course materials are great and also include a recipe book with over 200 drinks. Alex tells interesting and amusing stories from his over 30 years of experience. We did a cocktail mixing workshop with my colleagues as a part of the Christmas celebrations -that was such a great fun! Alex is not just a skilled barman but also quite some entertainer, has been telling stories about how certain cocktails have appeared, told many relevant stories and jokes. A very professional, entertaining service - I can only recommend it, my colleagues (and I!!) have loved the experience. You just really have to try that out.

I attended the one-week intensive bar professional course. As a career changer with mixing as a hobby, I was able to improve my skills and learn some new ones, mainly in the areas of efficiency and different methods. However, I was able to benefit most from the many inputs on bar operations and the hospitality industry in general. Another big plus for me was the opportunity to taste well over 100 different cocktails and to hear many anecdotes from Alex about their origin, history and development. One afternoon we also learned many details about wine production and tasting directly from the wine merchant. Thank you for the educational and entertaining course. I definitely recommend him and would visit him again in a heartbeat.

The seven of us attended a three-hour “hobby mix course” with Alex (head of the bar school and also our course leader). It was a thoroughly successful afternoon! Room size for our event: perfect. We learned an incredible amount and laughed at least as much. Alex shared his enormous knowledge with us with a friendly ease. You can tell right from the start that a professional is at work here. We learned much more than you would expect from a hobby course. Not only did we mix and taste over 20 drinks - no, we also talked about the ingredients, the different ways of "making" a drink, the origin of the names of drinks, etc. What we found particularly exciting was the different qualities to learn. It was fun from A - Z and anyone who gets involved will experience a very entertaining and at the same time extremely instructive course. We were allowed to take the recipe book we received home with us, very great. This means you can not only remix the drinks you've learned, but also try out more. Thanks Alex - we all had a lot of fun.

Awesome course! I was on the 9-5 course for one week. The course started with the basics and advanced throughout the end. You get great documents to take home and improve your skills. You can always call alex or reach out to him if you have any questions or want to repeat the course for free!! You will also learn a lot about the different stories of the various Alkohol. And how to create your own drinks. The Selection of booze is huge and great to improve your skills. Great investment!

Great experience!! I would take this course again at any time. You learn a lot about the history of the different drinks and of course how to mix them. Our course leader, Alex Armbrüster, created a pleasant learning atmosphere, was very patient and explained certain things to us five times. I feel much better prepared for everyday life behind the bar.

Had an awesome week learning the ins and outs of bar keeping! It was both insanely informative and very fun. Came out not only knowing how to make great drinks, but with loads new historical context and jokes.

This man Alex is straight up the G.O.A.T., as is the Greatest Of All Time. Straight up funniest dude I have ever met and for sure the funniest teacher I have ever had. You straight up feel like he’s your homie that has unlimited knowledge about drinks and mixing. The G.O.A.T. 11/10 and whoever doesn’t agree with me can meet me outside.

Barkurs was appealing, good entertainment. But the price-performance ratio is not right at all: 100 CHF per person. There were 13 of us, not all of us could drink a whole drink... The operator did not respond to this notice. Update: The bar school has contacted me. Based on the descriptions and circumstances, they easily offered to repeat the course. We are excited and looking forward to the evening in ZH.

Very good course, even for people who don't work in the bar, as you get a lot of knowledge about the different drinks and spirits, which gives you a deeper understanding of the taste. I can highly recommend it.

We were four friends who attended the Hobby Mix course. The course was very humorous and educational at the same time. It was great fun. It was a successful surprise for one colleague on her birthday.

The intensive course to become a bar professional is, as the name suggests, intensive. The pace is very fast but just right for the amount of information. The knowledge is conveyed with a lot of humor and every student has plenty of opportunity to mix things themselves. You can see that the school or The instructors spend a lot of time and energy on the material and the lessons. I will definitely take advantage of the offer to repeat the course!

I've learned so much this week. This bar course was an amazing experience. Alex definitely knows what he is talking about, is fun to be around and is a good teacher. We surely made over 100 different drinks (yes, with the real & correct ingredients) and were able to taste them as well. There was a great balance between theory and practical experience. Couldn't have wished for more. It was definitely worth every cent.
