Second Swiss meal under a Singapore tour package. Went to check the reviews right before entering it and so I was slightly apprehensive. We were served a huge salad bowl as appetiser. It was basic, not much else to say. Too much dressing. Then came the cheese fondue and bread. I have to admit I didn’t read up on Swiss fondue beforehand, so I was surprised that we are meant to dip bread into cheese. The cheese was real salty which made it a weird pairing with bread. Either way I only had a nibble… I might have liked it more if the bread wasn’t cold and soft 😶 After that came fondue chinoise, where we stuck pieces of raw meat into hot oil to cook. I was thinking why they couldn’t directly serve us cooked meat, until I googled and found that this vs is how the Swiss traditionally have “hotpot” 😅 Respectfully, I’d much prefer Chinese style hotpot because it only takes 10-20s to cook a piece of meat, but in this fondue it took 3-5min per piece 😬 Notwithstanding method of cooking, the meats were pretty good and I liked to dip them in belacan sauce. Rice and fries served were decent too. Dessert was chocolate fondue with fruit. The fondue was thin and dripping… it wasn’t enjoyable given the fruits were still cold inside. I was expecting a thicker consistency like chocolate fountains in SG 😭 The boss entertained us throughout our meal. I’m at the furthest end of the spectrum from his ideal audience, but at least I can say A for effort esp to a lukewarm SG group. Really gimmicky tho (or maybe I’m just a boring customer who prefers a peaceful, no-frills meal 🤷), but from the many poor reviews I don’t think I’m wrong to say that this is more targeted towards unsuspecting tour groups 🥴

I have already brought groups from the Far East here several times, the atmosphere is guaranteed!😂 The boss is especially guest-centric and a master of fun! The service is fast and everything is fine every time! I will come next month too!

Maybe Taiwanese people have a lighter taste and may find it a bit salty. In a restaurant with a great atmosphere, the owner will interact with the guests and is very friendly and approachable.

Truly horrible. Establishment to avoid! The waiter spoke no German or very poorly. We order a fondue which is already quite expensive, the quantity for two people is worth for a small eater. We don't even talk about the taste, a four-year-old child could do the same... The homemade bread was far from fresh... We were seated without cutlery or napkins! You had to ask and what's more, it's not super clean. I will definitely never set foot there again, no thank you.

I didn't know that fondue had a stronger wine flavor than I expected and that the cheese tasted bitter. I guess I had high expectations because it was my first time trying fondue. In particular, the bread that came with it was dry, and the vegetables were slightly cooked, but the vegetables had a unique smell that made it difficult to eat. The salad I ordered seemed to be the most edible. In the review, they said they didn't want to eat it because there were vegetables that weren't fresh, but I was glad that the salad consisted of vegetables that were in good condition. Because it is a restaurant targeting tourists, the turnover rate is fast, but the menu is not something I would recommend. There were many good reviews, so I visited with high expectations, but the taste was very disappointing. Still, the servers were very friendly.

I had the cheese fondue it was quite expensive and it was just ok. Also, ordered a sandwich and it wasn't tasty as I expected. It was a simple sandwich which you can make at home. Anyhow, the restaudant ambience looks good but needs to improve the quality of their food.

My husband and I came over for a drink last night and everything was fine, but when we were finishing the check, the clerk who took the payment made me feel very unhappy! She asked whether to give her a card or cash. We only took the card with us when we went out and asked for the card. When we were about to swipe it, I asked to see the receipt before paying. I found out that I had to pay 0.5 CHF to pay by card, so I asked if I could go back to get cash instead. She said no because I just asked you whether you wanted to pay by cash or by card. Her attitude was very bad, so I said, but you didn’t tell me either. The card will be charged, but we don't know. She said very impatiently that every family is like this. Finally, I would like to say that I personally do not recommend this store! Very bad attitude. It’s not that we can’t afford the 0.5, but as consumers we should know. Your store clerk didn’t inform you and had a bad attitude. This makes me very unhappy!

I feel like I am always being rushed to eat, and I am always in a hurry to collect the plates and serve the next dish. They will schedule the tour groups very close together, making people eat in a hurry. The steak was said to be medium-rare, but it was cooked as if it were well-done. Someone ordered a super-rare steak, but it came out medium-rare. I don’t think it was cooked backwards, because only one person ordered it well-done and the others ordered it. They all order medium rare, but medium rare is the same as well done... The food is also very salty and oily. I feel like the cooking is very perfunctory and careless. There is really a big difference between medium rare and well done. Worst European steak ever If it was arranged by a travel agency, see if you can eat somewhere else. This restaurant is really not recommended.

I had no choice but to come because it was a package.. Wow, it was so bad that I wondered if there was a place like this in Switzerland. The salad was made with wilted lettuce, a sour sauce that looked like ranch sauce, and the pork steak felt like an American-style pork steak made by a Chinese chef. The draft beer called Glacier Beer was Minmingu Japchae. If you happen to come here with a package, just say you have a stomach ache and run to a nearby McDonald's. Please.

We loved the place, very cozy atmosphere and wonderful service. The only negative point is that the meat in the Cordon Blue dish was raw in the middle. But the fondue was delicious.

Awful. Please be warned — this place is being run as a scam in my view. Rushed and unfriendly service, awful food, annoyingly-loud music. All the side dishes of our meat fondue were missing, but when we asked we were given what appeared to be stone cold leftovers. The cheese fondue was barely edible, too salty, and came with cheap-tasting bread (not what you expect for the price). The waitress came and turned our meat fondue off half-way though our meal, I have no idea why! I do not feel this can be an honest representation of Swiss food, or service.

Looked appealing from outside but food was quite awful if I’m honest. We ordered the deluxe fondue which was cheap cheese and a schnitzel I could barely eat. I ordered a gin and tonic for $30 Australian dollars that was flat tonic and no ice. I was hoping for an authentic Swiss experience but I left robbed.

I share what this Jordan Veitch said, one star is too generous. The tunes were lackluster. The additional charges were many by golly and the good times were few. Don't go here.also, Grindelwald is the bad guy in those new harry potter films. I didn't enjoy them as much.

Zero recommendation! This restaurant is full of bad odor and bad taste. Food does not worth the money at all. You can only find Korean cusotmers here because their package trip includes this restaurant. If your travel package includes this restaurant, I bet you can cancel your travel package immediately.

Fries were lukewarm. There was a good 4dl in the 5dl wheat beer glass. I complained and the answer was that that's just how the machine does it... and if you don't speak English you can't communicate with the employees

We ordered chicken cordon bleu, and the chicken was raw. I can't believe it. If you're going here and you ordered the chicken cordon blue, please please please just check your chicken before you eat. The owner was pretty funny, but it wasn't funny when he served us the raw chicken. However, he was pretty responsible when we told him and showed up at the condition of the chicken. He gave us a new plate. However, when I ate the second plate. The chicken was really smelly. It felt like it was rotten. If you're going here, just be careful. The cheese fondue, i thought it would be better, but no.

Came for cheese and chocolate fondue on Christmas Eve and they pulled out all the stops. Waiter was super friendly and they hooked us up with ice cream and they even blew “the horn” for us

Really don't go there. The package travel agency must have been involved here. It's a fondue restaurant. Say it's a joke. Since it is a group reservation, they will tell you that at least one team cannot be left out. Fuck it. Say your body hurts so much. And just Jungfrau, don't add fondue. Just find it and eat it if it has a high rating. It's not tasty and the staff are strange. While I'm eating, I clean up the dishes.

Came here for chocolate fondue (18.90) and it was good. Came with orange, apple, marshmallows, strawberry, banana (last 2 not pictured as they brought it later). It was good. There is a 0.5chf fee for card so I asked to pay with cash instead and they let me.

Twas a cold afternoon in Grindelwald and starting to get dark. Food: As expected, bit expensive with £28 for a burger. BUT... The view form this restaurant overlooking grass carpeted village nearby and the swiss mountain alps as the background is worth it. Clasped hot coco in hand, I enjoyed the quietness and the surreal feeling of a holiday movie. In addition, staff were friendly and very accomodating! :)

In the first place, the clerk was Asian, so I should have canceled the order when I entered the store. I ate cheese fondue in Interlaken, but it was too salty to talk about. We recommend eating cheese fondue at other restaurants or in Grindelwald. There were really a lot of Asian people, so the taste was not like today's. And it's expensive!

I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone who visit Interlaken . Be careful when they ask you if you want to pay by card or cash. NEVER ANSWER TO PAY BY CARD! Cause, they will charge you 0.50CHF more, as this was the fee for the card payment. And THEY WONT LET YOU CHANGE YOUR PAYMENT BACK TO CASH!!! I've never experienced anything like this in Switzerland. I hope this review will help people who are trying to eat here from getting charge for no reason.

I think the location is the only reason this shop survives, being right next to the station. We wanted fondue, and this was the only place open at that time. Fondue was expensive compared to other prices we had seen and the taste completely missed the mark. Very salty with a strange flavour to it that i could not figure out. The staff were dismissive, almost unhapoy that we were there. The toilet also had the most offensive smell I have ever experienced in a bathroom. Not your usual bodily smells or cleaning smells. Almost like something was rotting in there

Was here in September, I love the Swiss music playing, the owner playing the alphorn. I tried the Wienerschnitzel, the Alfredo and the Alpner macaroni. All were good, the Alpner macaroni is a small portion, but still good. Restaurant is also in a great location. The meal prices are normal for Swiss restaurants, around $24 Swiss franks a plate is the normal.

We came for the early lunch, waiter recommended us to try cheese hot pot, so we ordered cheese’s hot pot, chocolate’s hot pot and burger, all the food are delicious.

Unfortunately a failure. None of the employees spoke German and the boss recommended the typical Swiss dishes until he realized that we were Swiss. When we got to the reserved table, there were already faded jugs of tap water and brown plastic cups on the table. First we ordered real glasses. But the water tasted like soap. The cutlery looked like it had been in use for several decades. Hunger was a good cook, but the food didn't really taste good. For example, the fries were hardly seasoned. They also didn't have jalapeños, even though that ingredient was in one of the burgers. We ordered onion rings as a starter, but they were served to us with the main course. During our stay, three Asian tour groups stormed the restaurant and were dispatched within a short time. The boss put on a show for each group with flags and an alphorn. The supposedly “Swiss music” was unfortunately German hits. I didn't like the boss's sayings, but that's a matter of taste. I would not recommend the restaurant to anyone who appreciates good Swiss cuisine. For a card payment you had to pay 0.50 more, as this was the fee for the card payment. I've never experienced anything like this in Switzerland. I hope the criticism can contribute constructively to improving conditions in the restaurant.

The food at restaurants for Asian group travelers can only be described as appalling. If you eat at this restaurant with a group, it is recommended that the travel agency eat at another restaurant to avoid ruining the fun of the trip!

I visited with a travel package that included 3 types of fondue for dinner. It didn't taste good and didn't look very hygienic. It feels like a store where Korean guides bring groups of tourists with group packages, but it is noisy so it is not recommended for those who prefer a quiet place. The cheese is not as tasty as we think, but it is salty and smells like fish sauce in the store. I skipped lunch, so I'm a little angry that my stomach is full after eating white rice and meat fondue haha.

I was told it was a famous place for fondue, but it was so salty that I couldn't eat it after two or three servings, the salad was terrible, and the sausage was so salty that it was hard to eat. Overall the food quality is noticeably poor. The owner tried to cheer people up by singing, playing musical instruments, walking around, and providing a lot of chocolate service, but I think the atmosphere should be improved so that the taste of the food can be improved. The staff were busy with many group tours, but there is room for improvement in customer service. Overall, the restaurant is a bit noisy and doesn't seem like a comfortable place to eat. Most of the people I went with had already visited Jungfrau, so I was hungry so I ate a little, but I left a lot behind.

For the most part, we enjoyed our food. Had I read the reviews, I wouldn’t have come here. However, we were hungry and they had fondue. The fondue was oily and a smaller portion than I was expecting. Maybe it’s normal, but it was oily and smelled sour. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The Apfel Macronen was very yummy. We sat outside because the inside smelled way too smoky. Our server was very friendly, helpful, and had great suggestions on places to visit in the area. So overall we enjoyed our meal, though I wonder whether we could have had better quality food elsewhere.

Swiss hot pot is actually fried meat. It is not breaded but only seasoned. It tastes good but not that special. It is still possible to experience local flavor meals.

Beware, tourist rip-off! Unfortunately, this restaurant only aims to take money out of the pockets of tourists, mostly of Asian origin. The food is sold as Swiss with appropriate music in the background. It's really outrageous how disgusting the food is and then also the price. Yes, Switzerland is more expensive, but what is sold here for that money is unfortunately just sad.

The menu suggests traditional CH cuisine, but what is served here has nothing to do with that. Hands off. Burger and fries ok. Staff friendly, but not up to the task. Minimum knowledge of German would certainly be important. For the same price there is something better a few meters away.

This restaurant was the worst place I’ve ever been to. I waited over an hour for the food, starving. The waiter kept saying “Your food is coming” and “be patient” but actually, my order didn’t even reach to the kitchen where the food is served. Thanks to this terrible restaurant, I was able to enjoy the wonderful and gorgeous meal in the another place nearby.

The servers were incredibly friendly, efficient and hardworking but this may have been the worst food we have ever had. I can’t even begin to explain all of the deficiencies.

Food is terrible, in my opinion sweet potatoes are not real but a product of them, the salad is “homemade” but comes from the Coop, nachos have a bland taste and not enough cheese. The chicken pieces are tasteless and dry. The waitress doesn't speak German and doesn't understand you. The ambience is on a busy roundabout and everything else is pleasant. And Cola is Pepsi but that's just a detail. Conclusion: Avoid this restaurant if you are hungry. I can only talk about the food I tried.

Came in here as a couple and felt forgotten about... We were the first people in the restaurant that evening and were served pretty quickly. Drinks were quick and food orders taken fast too. Then the large tour groups came in and we were forgotten about. Their food came out before ours. Food was average at best. Beer on the other hand was great. Lots of flies in the building. I'd usually turn a blind eye to this, but everywhere else we ate whilst in Interlaken did not have this issue... Little improvements could make a huge difference here!

We just had a drink, just before the train left. Unfortunately, the staff only speaks English and even then they hardly understand you. Service took quite a long time.

This is the second time here, (was here a year ago). And forgotten How BAD the food was, not even carbon in the cola!! Twice!! The view from the balcony is stunning, and thats why i forgot how bad the food was last time. Schnitzel and frites is like eating a greasy shoesole, bad fries, bad little lettuceleaf and a dead tomato. And they charged me around 30€ for it!! Discousting!! Close it down, and get new owners!

We went to try the fondu and were disappointed. We chose the meat fondu and it was the worst I've ever had. The rice was a block of brick (stale and bland). The waitress made it better by offering us extra potatoes. The show leaves something to be desired. I will never repeat.

Not recommended at all….bad service and misbehaviour by the assistant manager and the manager….on pointing out their mistakes in food delivery, they didn’t really care and never bothered to apologise! Where are the service ethics and standards these days…didn’t expect switzerland to have such ill-behaved servers….the restaurant should be ashamed of giving us an appalling experience on our holiday👎👎

Staff is good but food is awful

Any Swiss would burst into tears if they saw what they were offering there as Alpine macarons. The Cordon Bleu was actually a schnitzel with a bit of cheese in the middle. Worse than any frozen product. At least the salad was good. That was by far an experience that I no longer want to go through. More designed for groups from the Far East. During our stay, two groups were fed, it's crazy how that happens. If you don't know anything about food, you shouldn't come here.
