Berghaus Elsigenalp in Frutigen

For me as a Thun resident there are clearly 5 stars here. I was a guest at the Berghaus with my extended family for a week. The team was very friendly and warm. The offer was adapted to our needs. The mountain house is 20 meters from the ski lifts, slightly elevated, in a prime sunny location. We really enjoyed our stay in the holiday apartment because we were able to cook together. The furnishings are good and the kitchen is very well equipped. The food in the restaurant is really excellent. I had the impression that a star chef was at work here. The soups have that certain something and the menus, in addition to being of high quality, also provide the amount you need after a long day of skiing. The fire on the terrace after the sunset was also a highlight for us. The facility is managed in a highly professional manner in all aspects. Given the current challenges for small and medium-sized ski areas, I hope to be a guest at Berghaus Elsigenalp for many years to come.

Very family-friendly mountain house ideally located for relaxed ski holidays. If you just want to switch between finches and ski boots for a few days, you've come to the right place!

I'm giving it 5 stars because I'm fundamentally against bad reviews on Google. We stayed in the Berghaus with our two children. Room was nice and clean, breakfast ok. On the first evening (Monday) we received great service at dinner. Thank you. I will not rate Tuesday and Wednesday. I would like to emphasize the positive. Price/performance ok for us. We will therefore be happy to come back next year.

There was a long wait and poor service. Completely ignored. Further feedback and answer: > “You have to wait an incredibly long time” --> how long did you have to wait? We waited about 30 minutes until someone served us. We saw 2 other groups that waited so long that they finally left. > «very bad service. Completely ignored.” --> What exactly was bad about the service? We asked waitresses twice if we could order and they said someone was coming. There was only one person who could take orders. He saw us at the beginning and brought us a menu, and then didn't come back until we asked (about 30 minutes later). > Have you already given feedback on site? Is a larger mountain restaurant, staff is friendly. Food was good

Nice sun terrace. Self-service completely overwhelmed, no organization, very long waiting times, broken drinks tap, empty coolers... a shame for the beautiful restaurant

Cozy, sunny, fries rather spongy... (too bad)

Price performance great. Despite the hectic pace, always friendly staff. That was 5 years ago. New tenant...what a shame Update from February 11, 2023: Large portion of fries, normal size, Fr.10.-. A few Wienerli without anything, no bread nothing, Fr. 6.-. That's too much of a good thing.... The price of electricity is probably to blame. ;-)

Prices are steep, self-service only at eleven is too late with families, so very unfriendly for families in contrast to the ski area!

Was a very pleasant stay. The food was also very good.

1st day of this year's summer season. Long waiting time to order. Dry breaded schnitzel, chicken nuggets are terrible industrial stuff. Very nice fries! Croissants with Bolognese in the children's plate were charged to us as a large portion for Fr. 20.- instead of Fr. 13.- When we asked, the service staff said that they would then ask in the kitchen whether there had been a mix-up and it was taken care of for them. We will definitely NEVER come back like this!
