I had the pleasure of visiting this fantastic restaurant and I absolutely loved it. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive from start to finish. I was warmly greeted as soon as I entered, and the waitress made us feel comfortable from the first moment. The atmosphere of the restaurant is attractive and inviting. The tasteful furnishings and atmospheric lighting create a pleasant environment for an unforgettable dining experience. Now to the highlight of the visit - the food. The menu offers an impressive selection of dishes and I was more than happy with my choice. The dishes were not only visually appealing, but also a real feast for the senses in terms of taste. Fresh ingredients and sophisticated preparation techniques made every dish a delight. The service deserves special mention. The waitress was not only knowledgeable and attentive, but also extremely friendly. They were always willing to make recommendations and ensure that each guest had a personalized and first-class experience. The drink selection was equally impressive and the waitress was knowledgeable in advising on suitable drinks to accompany the meals. In summary, I highly recommend this restaurant. It combines excellent service with a delicious menu, creating an all-round successful dining experience. Super good Mexican dishes! Group meal, we priced the menu at 37.- and were not able to try everything because it was so busy. The taste of the dishes was very satisfying! Original and colorful decoration. Not easy to find in the evening, the entrance is not well lit. The restaurant is located in the basement. Very small tables with reclaimed chairs of all kinds which provide a pleasant setting. But be careful you will leave there with the smell of fried food on your clothes and hair, because the kitchen is open to the small dining room.

Very good service!! But food and location were disappointing. Not sure we will go back. We tried tacos de pastor - meat was very chewy, and tacos vegi - tasted more like a quesadilla. Selection of aguas frescas was limited (tamarindo and limon). Guacamole was avocado and nothing else. Location looks like a squat, with lots of shambles around. Would deserve a bit more maintenance. We sat outside.

Great nachos, tacos with 10 pieces and torta de carne, it was super good and very tasty. What I personally didn't like was the ventilation. It was very hot when it was busy and the smell from the kitchen could also be felt on the clothes. That's the only deduction, otherwise it was great.

The ambience and service are good. However, the vegetarian burrito with vegetables was carelessly prepared and served. It tasted bland, fell apart and was more reminiscent of Tex-Mex. At a price of CHF 25 I would have expected more love and taste... 💔 I suppose the meat dishes are better based on the positive reviews.

Very good authentic Mexican food, unfortunately a very small, cramped restaurant. When the restaurant is busy, the ambience becomes a bit uncomfortable as it becomes very warm and cramped.

Look, you will only find AUTHENTIC mexican food... in México. Because ingredients are everything and they're hard to come by. That said, this is THE place in Europe that really gets as close authentic as possible. The food is super nice, and the portions are generous. My compliments to the chefs. Do yourself a favour and avoid the nachos, that's TexMex. But you can go for the burritos, they're nice too. And this is the only place where the salsas actually taste like mexican salsas. Go for a tostada, it tasted like my grandma's tostadas. And please stop complaining about the price. This is Switzerland and you're in a speciality restaurant, if you want authentic mexican food you won't be paying 20CHF. Only bad thing was it takes long to get your food. But hej, that means it is fresh and carefully made!

I’m so sad in giving 3 stars out of 5 to this place. Let’s first speak about the food. The food is great. Some stuff is more texmex but the original Mexican food is actually really good and I overall enjoyed it. I enjoyed also the margarita. So speaking about food, I would gladly review it with a 5. Location is fine. A bit difficult to find since there are no indications of advertisements. Anyway, it looks a bit rustic but overall enjoyable. The problem comes when we talk about the service: When we sat down, one of the tables lost a screw and fell. Fortunately nothing was on it and no one got injured. Then, one of us took some sandwiches and they got served half an hour after we finished eating the other stuff (lots of it). We asked for some other food after the first ordination and they said “we don’t know, it may need lots of time to be prepared since there are other people”. I mean, fine? Also, it was a work dinner, our company agreed to pay 500 euros for the dinner with the restaurant. 500 is not a few bucks right? Overall the bill was like 472. We asked for another round of margarita which was 41CHF. So the total was 513CHF. We gave a tip of 50CHF but they also wanted the 13CHF that exceeded the agreed amount. Nice way to keep customers

Unfortunately, they seem to have increased the prices significantly in the meantime since my last visit (March 2023). Unfortunately, I no longer feel that the new prices are justified and I no longer see Bigote Verde, which I have been visiting since it opened, as an option. I understand the price increase, it is happening everywhere, but in my opinion the new price level is no longer justified. Otherwise extremely delicious food and authentic ambience.

Overall a decent restaurant. One of the only taquerias I've found in Europe so far (after a month of travel). That said though, Switzerland is known for being expensive and goly was this place expensive. I got vegan tacos (comes with 4 tacos) which cost me 22.5 francs (~25.30 USD). The margaritas were great and quite strong, but cost ~16.9 USD. The food was very tasty, but I don't think it was worth the price, especially since they don't take credit/debit cards! I had to frantically pay via PayPal because I don't have the swiss equivalent to Venmo (TWINT) nor any swiss francs on me because I assumed a restaurant would take a credit card. This information would have been great to have available to us the moment we walked in.

Without a doubt the best Mexican restaurant in Bern. Came here for dinner on a date. The place looks a bit random from the outside but once you go in, you will be surprised! Inside the place is decorated with super fun graffiti and it makes the whole place quite special. Atmosphere without good food would ruin any date and all I can say is the food doesn't disappoint. It's as close as "real" Mexican food as it gets. We had Tacos and Torta and it was really really good! Service is helpful and on point. The price is definitely in the higher bracket (especially the drinks!) but I think it's well worth the quality and how genuine the food is. We enjoyed our meal here and will definitely come back. I can only recommend you try out this place. As a final note, reserve if you can. We were lucky to get a table but the place is quite popular!

I was quite disappointed... I had dinner here yesterday with two colleagues. I contacted the restaurant beforehand about decorating the table because it was my colleague's birthday yesterday. They assured me that they would decorate the table... when I arrived and asked about the table, the service person just said "I didn't have time, I'm alone, just take a seat somewhere" sorry but if you don't have time for 3 customers He could have written to me quickly and I would have come earlier and decorated the table myself. I find that very unfortunate… And the food we ordered only came cold. For the starter there were nachos (sorry but CHF 25.00 for such a small portion is not possible). They sat on a tray for about 10 minutes and the people in the kitchen were just talking! The main courses (tacos mixtos and torta de carne) tasted ok but these dishes also came cold. When I asked him about it, all he got was “ahh ok” I'm quite disappointed and wouldn't go there again or recommend it! —> to your answer: I even have a text message saying that the decoration is possible and that they will do it + I NEVER called about a free meal, I just wrote a text message ;) I would be happy to do the same for you still send. I think it's a shame (not just with my recession) that some people can't handle criticism! My friends can also agree with the cold food and even the unfriendly manner 😉

Excellent service!! Really the same experience of flavors as if you were in Mexico, authentic place, Latin atmosphere, fast service, friendly and very fun. I recommend the really good nachos, they have a delicious and exclusive tequila, the unique margaritas of the place... thank you very much for the very welcoming treatment.

The best Mexican restaurant I have tried in Bern and I will be interested to know if there is a restaurant of such quality and authenticity as Bigote Verde. The menu offered is very varied and as soon as you set foot in this restaurant, you feel like you are in Mexico. The atmosphere is good, especially with weekend concerts that take you on a journey to Latin America and warm you up in winter. Very friendly team as well and top service! Great restaurant! At Bigote Verde you can really switch off and enjoy a lovely afternoon on the terrace with a fresh agua de limon or spend a Friday evening listening to great live music. Great atmosphere, good food and great drinks. 100% recommended. A petite bulle de bonheur in Berne!

Great place overall the beef is just ground beef it should/ could’ve been carne asada like flank steak, the lettuce in the burrito is warm and wet should be put in after the grilling of the burrito. No one likes warm salad. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is nice and different. A lot of cheese which isn’t necessarily a bad thing especially if hungover or drunk. A bit pricey but not too bad. Probably the best Mexican/ South American food in Bern but idk if that says a lot. Overall couldnt decide weather to give it 3 or 4 star but decent place worth checking out!

Bigote verde was my happy place whenever I felt homesick! Original taco and Mexican taste, staff is friendly. Last time I went craving tacos a bit late for Switzerland, they received me super good. I hope they offer more variety now but still tacos and tortas 10/10!

VEGETARIAN OPTIONS available. Authentic and very tasty Mexican food! The furnishings are not luxurious but very suitable for the ambience. Prices are rather expensive but justified for the quality of the food. Just a little tip: it could definitely be better marked from the outside and nicer.

Mmmmm! The torta al pastor and the quesadillas, as well as the home-brewed beer were delicious! Nothing Tex-Mex - there's real Mexican taste here! The brewery looks very cool and invites you to linger with friends. Everything went great with the online reservation! 🤙🏼 Our suggestions for improvement: - Close the door when it is cold outside. Then you drink one more beer or a coffee at the end. - Make the plates cheaper so everyone can order two OR add a filling side dish. 🙌🏼 Still 5 stars and we'll be back!! 🍻 All the best and stay tuned! The food is outstanding! The operation is a bit long, but you can overlook that. The atmosphere is also special, casual.

This must be one of the best Mexican restaurants in Switzerland. Of course, the highlight are tacos, and you can even smell the real corn tortillas all the way to the outside. This is one of the very rare Mexican restaurants in Europe that have real tortillas for tacos, they don't use the ones from supermarkets. Atmosphere and staff are also very friendly and nice. Would be great if the menu got expanded with more dishes: I miss a guacamole as a starter, and a mole as main dish.

I had dinner at Bigote Verde this week. As always, the food was very good and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, only one person from the staff had a mask on. What really bothered me was that no one checked the certificates, neither for me nor for the following guests. I will report the restaurant and will not eat there again in the future. A pity

The location is a bit secluded, but it has a great atmosphere. The staff are great and the chef is amazing. The food was delicious, I really recommend trying the different tacos and eating them with the regular hot sauce! All in all, amazing Mexican food, and very authentic as well :)

I liked it very much. * * We both ordered the tacos. 3 small filled tacos came with some salad as decoration. Taste was ok. But nothing special for me. A bit blandly seasoned. But maybe this cuisine has to taste like that. Costs per person: CHF 23.- x 2 = CHF 46.- It was a kind of chicken meat like from a kebab rotisserie. Menge: In my opinion, it was more of an appetizer. * * Also 2x CHF 4.50 homemade ice tea with lemon. It was very good! And the price is good! * Unfortunately, the waiter didn't understand my request to close the door even when I asked for the third time. It was cold. For the whole evening... I assumed he didn't know my language. * For me the price/performance ratio is right relationship when eating. * In addition, the service could be of better quality in relation to these steep prices. Such as basic service knowledge and no language barrier.

That is not Mexico for tourists, that is the true taste of wonder of that country. A delicious meat pie like I have rarely tasted.

Tried once to take a beer there and and only a very expensive Mexican and bad quality beer was available, "because the tap was inoperative".
