bimano in Bern

Was there today with my 2 grandchildren. I wanted to read and have a drink in the Zent. The children play in the arcade. I paid 15 each for the kids. I should have also paid 5 francs for myself. Reference to the rules. There was something about the post-corona period. We were there at 3:00 p.m. and the restaurant closed at 4:00 p.m. due to closed society. Ultimately I didn't have to pay 5 francs for myself. Because I fought back. Dear people, if you ask for money when someone sits down in your restaurant to read a book, that's weird. If the reason for this is Corona, then the hygienic measures should be clearly visible and everything should be spotlessly clean. But as it is, it harms you.

Boulder routes okay, but not suitable for beginners. Handles super dirty :-/

Magnificent! We need more places like this. The children loved it

An aircraft hangar sized play area for children. Ideal for rainy day activities or if you just want to wear out the little ones! There are lots of things to do and toys to take around the area. There could however be a bit more supervision upstairs in the ballpit. Older children tended to get a bit too boisterous and several parents had to intervene to calm them down. Don't be put off by the seemingly neglected third world derelict look of the toilets. This is apparently "skater chic" and the toilets were well maintained and clean.

If I had to summarize my experience and impression, it'd be mediocre. The bouldering scene is booming right now and you definitely feel it when you get there. It's overcrowded and the rent shoes overused. I booked a crash course in Bouldering. The teacher was obviously experienced but not ideal for the introduction, as he forgot to give crucial pointers for beginners (shoe size, using which grips when, safe falling) which I found after a quick internet search afterwards. The changing room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few weeks with a broken sink and dirty lockers. After the finished session I headed to the changing room and a lady came right after, washed her feet in the sink tracking water everywhere, let's just say I decided against filling my water bottle there. For some this might be in the realm of acceptable, but I want and expect more. To me, bimano seems like a derelict building that is ready to be demolished for good, but is desperately clinging to life.

Large indoor playground with lots of options for the little ones. There is also a climbing hall for the big ones :)

The staff have no idea at all, when you ask a question they look blank. It is definitely not a suitable place for children as it is a dirty place with no connection to hygiene whatsoever. I definitely won't be coming back. 1. Dirty, water drips on the ceiling of the toilet 2. No person checks the interior to see if there is dirt on the floor 3. Staff unfriendly 4. For a 2dl iced tea 4.- (2/3 of it is water) 5. Entrance fee, food, etc. too expensive

Too dirty and too expensive. No one controls the interior. Staff only in the restaurant and behind the cash register. Too bad for the place😔

Great for young and old. There is good food and drink, and a lot to discover. Thank you for the beautiful place.

It was okay. My godchild was able to let off steam, the dirt and cold that are often mentioned in other reviews didn't bother me because I was able to adjust to it. So clothes that can get dirty and 2 pairs of socks are recommended. I found the open screws on the ship's amature a bit dangerous, that would be great if you could repair them. A larger wardrobe and larger lockers would be practical. But since nothing was stolen from me, it was enough. Overall a great trip. But not so exciting that I really want to go there again.

Was there for the first time. Hardly anything is explained to us except that you have to pay an entrance fee. The gentleman at the checkout didn't understand where the toilet was etc. A pity. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired…

The place to be - if you have children who want to let off steam and play extensively (almost) without rules. Really beautifull. There are also treats and good coffee for parents in the bistro. Everything is somehow alternative and not off the shelf. Really very nice 👍🏻 keep it up 👏🏻

During quiet times it's fab and I love going there with my kids. The ball pool is really lovely. For babies it is really cool. but during busy times it's not as good. Older kids take over baby areas, the usual issue of such playgrounds forms too where parents don't always look after their kids and unsafe situations form.. I broke a serious argument between kids where one kid was being held by other kids and almost burst into tears. The cafe is very small so in busy times it's hard to get a place. They have a few larger tables but when we asked if some chairs / corners were free, everyone immediately responded that it's not and their friends are joining - I think nobody whom I asked had any more people joining at the end. So people going there aren't too friendly and it's hard to get a table. The menu is also very limited - I think there are maybe 3 options for the main meal and 2 or 3 for the kids menu.

Could you clean better? Restaurant doesn't offer any classics and is rather expensive for the amount of food.

Were here with the family this Wednesday. The bouldering hall was stuffy and overcrowded. The service was very unfriendly and anything but helpful. However, routes are good and it only has a few wobbly holds.

Cool location in the old Zent area. We enjoyed excellent tavolata with good wine. Lots of opportunities to get active: bouldering, skating...

A great playground where children can let off steam. No run-of-the-mill playground equipment, but individually manufactured. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The most beautiful indoor playground, perhaps in all of Switzerland. The pleasant acoustics also make the visit pleasant for the parents.

It's a little bit dirty/dusty for my taste but with "easy to start" all the way to "extremely challenging" boulders!

This is the best indoor playgrood i've ever seen. You pay only for your child 15 CHF ( babies are free ) , and you can stay as long as you want. They have a restaurant there, you can eat some food and drink coffee, or you can eat your brought food there. Simply, it is the most amazing place for kids and enfants as well. My kids were having a lot of fun there, especially my 4year old son. I recommend this place very warm, and i will go soon as soon as i get free day of work.

The bouldering room is good, although it is a little dilapidated, however the sockets are very dirty and it is difficult to find a small brush to clean them, plan to take your own! The children's area is very good, my 2 year old son loves it! 😁

Very interesting and fun for children, but some areas seem dangerous to me if they were very crowded (skate area between smaller children's area). The problem with my visit is that we are in the middle of a heat wave and the place is not prepared for this weather, so being here today is unbearable.

I am very disappointed with the place. It is neither userfriendly nor childfriendly. Accessibility is poor. There are only a few parking spaces and public transport is a hassle. It is very poorly marked, you would need to have binoculars to be able to read the signs. Elevator broken so with the stroller it's horror. It was under renovation and child safety was not taken into account. Lots of screws, bolts, cables on the ground where the children could play. For the catering part, the prices are incredibly expensive, no possibility of heating the baby's food/bottle. The concept is interesting in itself but it is far from being completed. The safety of children is at risk. I definitely won't come back.

Our children aged 3 and 10 enjoyed the place and had fun there. As a parent, I remain very reserved when it comes to safety. The establishment should improve this important point.

Very nice indoor children's park. Not so noisy and discounted due to ongoing renovation work. I really like the recycled side of certain games. Bring non-slip socks if you don't want your children to walk barefoot on the concrete 😉

It's a cool place for families but in my opinion 15 francs per child is only OK if you only have one child. For larger families it can be expensive. Perhaps the fee should be designed so that a fixed amount is paid per family.

The Restaurant is nice. Boulder area a bit dirty and to much peoples but really nice boulder problems allways find some nice combinations of moves ...

The other day I went bouldering with a friend to Bimano. Although it was very nice to be there, as beginners, we would appreciate it more if there were more low level routes. Besides that, we had a great time!

A perfect place to let the kids explore on their own! Very good and high-quality food options in the restaurant next door.

The children's area looks like an old converted skate park, a lot of concrete, little protection, even some dangerous posts, I think the place does not meet safety standards. My daughter was hurt twice in less than an hour and I could never be calm. The only advantage is that parents do not pay entry. A really great place for (pretty much) everyone. With a great, large children's adventure area, bouldering hall, skate park and a beautiful and delicious restaurant. 👌 only recommended.

Crazy! Crazy good that is! We went to bimano to enjoy their indoor "playground" with our two kids. Except "playground" doesn't do this place its justice. It's a huge room for kids to roam freely at with the weirdest and most creative activities possible. Different scooters and bikes made out of old bikes and such, places to climb and slide, to puzzle up or chill out- it's all there! Kids loved it, we loved it. Will be back!

Wonderful routes, a fantastic playground and delicious, sustainable food - in short: a paradise!

How can I put it... if your children come out whole, you've won! Ok that's something else, but I must not have understood the concept... machines with metal wheels rolling in all directions among barefoot children, on the frozen concrete floor. It might be nice for 8-12 year olds, but before that there are other nicer places!

Everyone had a lot of fun. However, it is quite cold in the hall.

The idea is very nice and funny...but unfortunately far too expensive, rather dingy and the same, certainly creative, but sometimes rather dangerous and defective toys for so many kids for years.

Cool indoor playground, rather alternative, therefore not typical toys, almost no plastic, a lot is reused, is constantly being restored and renewed. Floor very cold, temperature rather cool, relatively dusty in places, but the children love it.

Impressive at the beginning but then the offer quickly becomes manageable. I found it uncomfortable having to walk around in socks, it's not like everything was covered with mats. Still very well made and funny and the kids love it! A little note to the Bimano staff: there needs to be a wipe between the mat and the climbing wall.

Great equipment for the children but unfortunately far too dirty for 15fr. In the restaurant it's rather expensive for the service. You can try it out, but there are better places for children in Bern.

Very interesting for the children. It's fun and not too expensive. But if you are walking in socks or barefoot, your feet will quickly get cold on the concrete floor.

We're having a wonderful afternoon! The granddaughters are having a lot of fun!

This place is amazing! The bouldering wall was packed with great interesting routes, with a very welcoming atmosphere. Lots of problems to try and work out, and plenty for younger climbers too. My 11 years old son had a blast! There is loads of other stuff for kids to do, skating, slides and places to explore. I really thought this was a fantastic concept that I would happily spend a whole day at with the family.

Very friendly staff. Prices are ok. The bouldering routes are re-routed every now and then. Recommend mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. there aren't that many people. The arcade for children is ok.

Coolly done and actually brilliant, However, it is very dirty and there is no hygiene. The cover of the rocking bed was very dirty, we were able to fish out socks, used tissues, leftover food, etc. in the ball pit. There are leftover food and dirt everywhere on the floor.

Cheap, but few facilities to play. Other indoor playgrounds offer much, much more

my new favorite place! I have rarely seen such loving, elaborate and creative decoration. Everything is just great. The playground for the children, the super fine food and the ambience. A huge big thank you to everyone who works here!

Very original place. We ate in a large group at the restaurant and were able to taste all the plates offered at the time. Everything was very good! I will come back to discover the whole place (play area for children, skatepark, climbing (boulder) ...)

The BIMANO is one of our family favorite places. Perfect for meeting mom or parents in the Zent while the kids play or boulder while they get tired in the Bimano. The coffee and the (lunch) food are very tasty.

Great indoor playground for children and much more. The only deduction was because the temperature and the floor were very cool. It's best to dress a little warmer and take indoor shoes with you.

Rather dangerous for small children. Dirty and sticky and the staff not very motivated. Prices far too high for entry and food. Preo's performance is far from correct. In addition, there is no parking space. There are other arcades that offer much more for children.

Everytime we go thé food is sold out before 12:30. Having ran food businesses, it’s not that hard with a menu of three items, to order enough food.

We were in Zent for our wedding party and it was brilliant: open and uncomplicated clarifications in advance, very fine regional food with a unique taste, friendly staff.

I hope I always remain friendly, even when I no longer need it, it seems to me that after 15 minutes I have to wait at the counter without being served.

Rainy day, I go there with the kids and have fun for a good 1.5 hours. I leave the indoor playground for a short time and ask at the checkout for a stamp, there isn't one, we trust people, she said, oh cool, I thought I'd go outside and come back later. Everything went smoothly and I stayed there for some time. As I leave, I notice that a family turns out of the elevator with their kids straight into the children's paradise without paying at the cash register. The entry concept or entry controls should be changed/introduced, I don't finance other people who apparently don't have any money? Please dear operators, out of fairness for everyone. control the people and you will have even more income on today's wet day and you won't overcrowd the hall. Winwin situation accordingly.

Decent, good sized bouldering gym with a variety of wall types. However, the holds were very dirty and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Also, a lot of the people climbing here didn't seem to know basic climbing etiquette such as knowing not to climb under other climbers and there were many children running underneath people whilst climbing. A mandatory introductory video/waiver form could be helpful in this regard.
