Fast service, very good food and a clean and well-kept restaurant. Price-performance is good, is highly recommended.

The trip to Blapbach is always worth it.

Great sun terrace. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We had fish crispy and chicken wings. Service was quick and very friendly. Even our dogs were provided with water.

My fitness fish crispy with salad wasn't bad, but not great either: crispy crisps were obviously not homemade (they were all identical in size and shape and baked too brown), the tartar sauce wasn't really a tartar sauce, more like mayo with a few herbs, which were salads bland and partly without sauce... I got the cruet myself. It's a shame because I'm used to better things from this restaurant. The waitress was obviously stressed and therefore not particularly friendly - it was difficult to get a smile out of her...

Amazing experience! We went on a hike along the Trans Swiss Trail and made a little detour to have lunch here. This place really exceeded our expectations. Nice location with beautiful views over the Emmentaler Land, super friendly and very professional staff and the best of all. The food was just perfect. No wonder this place attracts so many people, although it’s located in the middle of nowhere…

Nice restaurant. The food is very good and the service is extremely friendly. The ride to the restaurant by car goes well. The drive down to Eggiwil is also easy.

Home cooking. Very friendly service, even though it was busy at lunchtime and only 2 people were serving. The cook could fry the meat for less time 😁 and not "knead" the spinach so tightly onto the plate.

My sister and I were able to celebrate our 65th birthday. Very friendly welcome, beautiful table decorations. The great food and the attentive service were great. We can therefore happily recommend this restaurant with the friendly staff and great surroundings.

We ate well in a very beautiful setting. For 2 people, we ordered 2 beers and a glass of wine, as well as a dish each and a carafe of water. What a bad surprise when we received the invoice and saw that the carafe was charged 5.-! Even in Switzerland, there are places where the carafe is automatically brought when you arrive and is not charged. It’s such a welcoming gesture, especially when you’re eating and drinking completely sensibly.

We were there by car as a senior trip. Service worked great, the food was very good as was the wine, it's a shame the weather wasn't good, no view. We'll be back by car when the weather is nice.

We went to the Essen restaurant on a Sunday for lunch (with a reservation). Even though the restaurant was busy, we didn't have to wait long. We are very satisfied, the price/performance ratio is right, nice and attentive service staff, the food was delicious. The innkeeper also personally came by each table to ask if everything was okay. We will always be happy to come back.

We went to eat deer. It was really good, big portions for a fair price. The staff is very friendly and retains a sense of humor despite a lot of work. That was great, keep it up. Reservations are not a bad idea.

The seven of us found a spot at the back, without the great view. Unfortunately there were only the cheap plastic chairs there. In terms of price, we found it to be on the higher side here.

Nicely located restaurant. Great to reach by motorbike. The portions are large and the vegi cheese slices are huge. The merinque is also super big and delicious ;-) Friendly staff - we waited a little long because there were a lot of people there. Top - would come again, even though there are only 4 vegetarian dishes on the menu (without salad).

Nice restaurant in beautiful scenery. Reachable on foot from Trübschachen in 1.30 hours and from Langnau in 3 hours. It takes half an hour less to return. The Merengue is incredibly large. With cream and ice cream, the two of us were well satisfied with one portion, for a reasonable 12 Fr. At Easter 2022 there was a folk music meeting (Ländler) with various formations. This meeting takes place every year and is definitely worth a visit, even for couples who like to dance. Really recommended as a rustic trip to the Emmental.

Very genuine people and service. Great view. On Easter Sunday: Freely selected Ländler music. If you want, bring an instrument and join in. Our strawberry dessert was huge and very delicious. Gladly again.

There's really nothing to complain about here. The service was friendly, quick and attentive, the landlord himself came by, which I really appreciated. The food was regional, seasonal, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and surprisingly affordable. The atmosphere was rustic, yet still modern. If you like home-style cooking at fair prices, this is the right place.

Beautifully located in the Emmental countryside. Decently large portions. We had the impression of somewhat careless mass processing. The serving staff, even indoors, were without exception without face masks. That's it for us.
