Blumen Café Fany in Winterthur

I reserved a brunch as a birthday present for Easter Saturday 6 weeks ago and now received a phone call 4 days before that they were « allowing » to close due to few reservations. I don't find it customer friendly at all. You should decide earlier not to open at all and not to accept reservations. It was difficult to find a table elsewhere at short notice for this weekend.

Very special little restaurant. You feel like you're in another world😍!

Beautifully made, surrounded by flowers and greenery. Offer is good and expensive. Comparable in price to competitors. The restaurant and the furnishings make the difference here.

Ambience and the cappuccino were good. Unfortunately our cakes were not at all tasty and fresh. The cheesecake tasted bad and the shortcrust cake with plums was soggy, but still tasted a little better than the cheesecake. Unfortunately I wouldn't eat cakes there anymore.

We came here for a coffee stop and loved the atmosphere! It looks very special with the beautiful plants. The only thing that could be a bit “disturbing” because of the plants is the tropical heat. It seemed like the humidity was a little higher. But on the other hand you also feel like you are in Bali and it is beautiful and calming 😍🥰 The cappuccino was great! Beautifully decorated and also tastes great! We'd love to come back. ✨️😊

I went to the cafe on the morning with my little girlfriend and at first the service was a catastrophe, arrogant, absolutely uninterested in the service and completely rude🙁. I don't think it's worth it for a second person for 1 plate 5.- I have to pay it in no time 🤷🏻‍♀️. So the place is nice, but I'll definitely never go there again 😒. Everywhere I go, no matter where I eat or drink or whatever else is going on, it's nice 2,3,4 valleys nice, but I don't have to pay for it separately. Ultimately, I don't need to eat on the table without a plate, what kind of thing is that? easy to use🙁 . chan just say catastrophe. It's a shame but not recommended😕

Very chic café, the breakfast with salmon, cheese, cold cuts, Birchermüesli and Zöpfli was sensational. I especially liked the different cheeses. The staff was super friendly. And you feel like you're in the jungle...

The team at Blumen-Café Fany conjured up a wonderful breakfast-to-go for my maids of honor and me upon pre-order, tailored to my wishes: super delicious, prepared and packaged with a lot of love - the wedding day couldn't have started any better! A visit to the restaurant is also highly recommended and every time it is like a little excursion into another world.

The best cafe in the area! As the name suggests, you can buy flowers there or stop by for a delicious coffee. The owner is very friendly and always open to a conversation. She takes good care of her customers and advises customers at any time. The café is also very clean and you feel very comfortable despite the plants. The food offering at Blumen Café Fany is very diverse and tastes very delicious! Everything is lovingly prepared and the flowers around it not only satisfy your stomach but also your eyes! I would definitely come by more often if I didn't live so far away. A trip is always worth it!

Bad employees not friendly, an employee with a bad mood

Dear Fany Flowers, please speak to your server named Roberto, he is so rude and says three times loudly how stressed he is. Okay, the cafe is very relaxing. As soon as you enter the restaurant you will feel a peaceful atmosphere and feel like you are in nature. But the theme of the restaurant does not reflect the mood because this waiter name “ROBERTO” ordered hot drinks and cheesecake, he came to us and gave us a teaspoon without cake because he forgot to add it to our coffee. And I ask him if we can have our cheesecake now too. He suddenly said he was stressed at the moment. and served our cheesecake 25 minutes later. He says he's stressed again for the second time. We understand when he's stressed, but the funny thing is we don't ask him. Thinking that he is quiet, loud and annoying when he says how stressed he was. For us it's quite inconvenient because we just want to have a quiet coffee break while meeting our friend who is slowly coming into the cafe one by one, let girls talk and enjoy the good atmosphere in the restaurant. But because of him, ROBERTO "scolds us for the third time and says he's stressed again" and we should first ask if the other table is free because we've moved. Since our other friend came in we are still having coffee and cake. Sorry, no respect and it seems like he doesn't like his job he treated like that. So embarrassing that other customers have to hear him say how stressed he is.

I'm blown away by how we were treated in this café today, I made a reservation over the phone 3 days ago. I was asked if we had any allergies or eating restrictions. Since I don't eat pork, I asked us not to have any pork with it. This was also confirmed to me with a “We would be happy to take note of this and provide an alternative to it”. When we got there we were served 3 plates, when I asked the main lady nicely and without any ulterior motives whether this was pork, she said in a very arrogant and cheeky tone “we don't have any other choice today if it doesn't suit you “They like to go too, but they pay for it,” then she immediately started taking the cake stand from the table. I'm shocked at how we were treated, we wanted to make my mom happy Mother's Day and surprise her. The surprise was a complete failure thanks to this lady. Does the question of racism also come up??? I don't know, in any case I feel very excluded because of this reaction to a completely normal question. This matter could have been resolved very easily by giving us a cake stand with no meat on it. I am very sad about this matter, knowing that despite 2023, it is still not structured as a café so that no carnivores/pork eaters can eat. My conclusion: This café is a no-go for anyone who wants to make their loved ones happy. The visuals are an eye-catcher, but the customer orientation is not there.

....very impolite. Actually I just wanted to ask if I could swap the Prosecco for a Birchermüesli/Zöpfli when making the reservation. Unfortunately that didn't work. After I asked how much this would all cost, I was told that I should go somewhere else. Mhh... I've never been there and I'll never go. It's actually a shame and all because of an unfriendly phone.

We are from Austria and think the idea is brilliant. It was a special experience and feeling. Breakfast in the jungle or rather between flowers, decorative elements, art. It was very cozy and 🔝

Fine coffee in a great atmosphere

Successful combination between a flower shop and an extraordinary café. The insider tip is and remains breakfast. If you reserve in advance, there is an Étagère with fine things that will make your heart beat faster and tickle your taste buds. Probably the best breakfast in the city in an atmosphere that is second to none.

We went this morning with the intention of having breakfast: my friend, my dog and me. We looked for a place inside where we would not disturb anyone and where there was room for the dog. After dropping off our bags, we went to order and a very rude woman, without even saying hello, very rudely told us that the dog had to wait outside because he could break things. We explained to her that there was no place to sit outside and that there was an ideal place in the corner to sit with him, but her answer was no. Still not a problem. We followed her outside, where she began to arrange tables in a not very happy way. While we waited for her to move, clean and dry the furniture that was full of rain, it occurred to me to try one last time and I told her that my dog is well behaved. We always go to cafes and he goes under the table and falls asleep. Her response was terrible. She told us that people come here for breakfast and it is disgusting with the smell of a stinky dog. It was literally nobody else inside but for the best we decided to leave. It was really unnecessary the bad treatment and the bad face of the lady. In all of Switzerland, we had never been treated like that. It is clear for me that I am responsible for my dog and that if he breaks something I am obliged to pay for it. You should be very clear in your information on Google Maps and make it clear that you ARE NOT a pet friendly establishment. It would also be good if they could train your staff to handle this type of situation, without making a customer feel bad.

Blumen Café Fany is such a nice place - that you might want to keep it secret and to yourself! Truly the word "oasis" is a fitting one here. A place where you can relax, taste delicious teas and pastries and in overall benefit from the generous positive energy of all the lush plants. Fany is the artistic head - her husband is communicative and very attentive to your needs.

Today I was able to enjoy a lovingly arranged brunch surrounded by large green plants, special decorative items, exhibited art objects and stylish flower arrangements. It was GREAT🤩

The atmosphere in the flower café is very inviting and calm. The many exotic plants make it seem very tropical and mysterious. You discover something new in every corner. The café invites you to spend relaxing minutes in which you can temporarily immerse yourself in another world while you are in the middle of the city.

Amazing abundance of special plants and flowers, artfully combined. Anything but ordinary! In the midst of this abundance, you can enjoy a fine espresso in peace with homemade pastries. Very personal and attentive service.

The combination between flowers and café alone is very interesting and also very well implemented. It's nice to have another café in Winterthur, especially one that stands out from all the others in terms of atmosphere and interior design without seeming "distinctly different" and at the same time offers good service. At first you might find the decoration a little overwhelming, but my real criticism is that there only seems to be one toilet.

Fany's flower café hasn't been around that long yet. Very close to the main train station, the four colorful tables in the middle of the vibrant plants and flowers are already enticing. Inside, exuberant greenery, flowers, art and crafts, tasteful decorative items and in between the friendly wooden tables, separated by perennials and bushes. Fany has her fabulous homemade braids in the display case and her husband brews the perfect coffee to go with them. It has become our second living room. Nicer than the first.
