I thought it was a coffee shop and innocently walked in with my dog, not noticing the sign saying dogs are not allowed. I was literally chased out of the store, which shocked me a little bit. Actually, I just wanted to order a coffee, which I could have had outside. But it wasn't offered to me. I totally understand that there are people who don't like dogs, and in his case he seemed to be in a real panic about it being a grocery store and dogs not being allowed in it. I understand that. It's also absolutely okay for me if he has a rule that dogs aren't allowed in. His business, his rules. And yet a slightly friendlier tone, a hint that I could perhaps tie the dog outside (I don't know if he has such a device), perhaps even the possibility of him collecting money outside, would have been a little more customer-friendly. He didn't seem stressed, there were no other customers present. A pity. I felt like I was being treated like a complete idiot who had to be told that dogs weren't allowed in a grocery store, it was like Migros. From the outside I didn't think it was a grocery store, but rather a cafe. So I didn't get to enjoy the apparently very good coffee. And I couldn't find out, as I intended, whether there was a French press for sale there...

Bob does a great range of freshly roasted coffees of different varieties, as well as an ever-growing selection of hand selected teas from around the world, and lots of accessories to match. There's always a good atmosphere in his shop; he is clearly passionate about his trade, and is always happy to discuss in detail lots of different aspects of the worlds of both coffee & tea. He is a mine of information!

I have lived here for 5 years and I discovered Robert's shop by chance, thanks to a friend who reported it to me, and since then it has become my point of reference for coffee and more. Robert knows how to sell the coffee experience, the passion, the knowledge. Going to him is like taking a journey into tastes and flavours, among the fantastic aromas of his shop. It's having a chat that is always pleasant and stimulating, relying on a professional who knows how to guide you by the hand in offering his many niche and high quality products. This is a really nice coffee shop in Zug. Here you get the best coffee in town and can have also a nice chat with the owner about anything coffee :) We also did a barista course here which can be also highly recommended! You learn everything from coffee beans, roasting, grinding, brewing methods, milk foaming, coffee machines, maintenance & cleaning - we spent about 3h-4h on the course and learnt all the basics that you can do a proper coffee at home later on.

No tea service on weekends, no alternative milks, but there is an excellent loose tea selection to buy by the 100g bag

Best coffee in town! Location is very easy to reach in the old town of Zug. Fresh and best quality coffee! Yesterday, September 26th, 2016, I took coffee again that was roasted on September 23rd. The small roaster knows his craft and so does the owner and barista Bob. Every cup of coffee is made with dedication and professional tools. It's always a pleasure to visit Bob's Food Store and Bob understates his store name! Actually the shop should be called Bob's best and fine food store. But that's how he is! modest and cosmopolitan! Visit his store and see for yourself the wide range on offer.

Probably the best coffee in town & definitely the one with the most detailed background information. Lots of other delicious things too: Quality & exclusivity are very important. Best recommendation, because there is something to suit every taste here.
