Solid food, friendly service, great views

Visited on February 24, 2024. Very pleasant restaurant! The food was very tasty and was served quickly. Only the salad dressing could be a little spicier :). The BBQ wings are particularly recommended! I would like to come back.

The Brasserie de Lac in Weesen impresses with its fine chicken wings and a selection of delicious sauces. The wings are perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and juicy tender on the inside. We went out for dinner last night because we wanted to treat ourselves again. We ordered Chigen Nagets for our daughter, and chicken wings in a basket and a whole chicken in a basket for ourselves. The chigen rodents came first, about 45 minutes later the chicken wings came. Again about 45 minutes later the third menu came, but not the chicken in the basket but chicken wings in the basket. We told the waiter that we had ordered a chicken in a basket, and not another chicken wing in a basket. He left again and about an hour later the chicken in a basket came, but it was bloody and not cooked through. After that we didn't want to wait another hour or more. If we add everything up, it's a waiting time of over 2 hours just waiting time, and that's for one chigen rodent, one pulp wing and one chicken in the basket. The chef wasn't able to get all three menus together so that everything was on the table together, so each of us had to eat alone. There were two people sitting at the table next to us who were just having a drink. When the bill came, the guest noticed that more had been charged than just the two drinks. The restaurant was so to speak empty, there were about 10 people in the restaurant. Years ago it was the most popular restaurant, always busy, the food, the quantity, the quality, and the service was great. But they have decreased a lot, except for the prices, which have increased. Everything else at most two stars, but certainly not four or five.

Went to Schwert yesterday afternoon and wanted to eat chicken wings like the ones we ate there a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the disappointment was great, my mother's portion was poor! Some of the breading on the wings was almost black, clearly fried for too long. The same goes for the fries, which seemed like they had been warmed up. I wonder why such food leaves the kitchen. It probably would have tasted better with any snack.

Were there over lunch, location was great, but that was it. So it's definitely not a brasserie. But they don't have a name anyway, French onion soup, reminiscent of a cube bouillon with onions and coq au vin, where the vin was is a mystery to me, only the "vin" was missing. The chef is probably in love because they didn't skimp on salt. If there had been Aromat and Maggi on the tables, we wouldn't have sat down at all. Water is served with one glass, the second comes 10 minutes. Later, the table is set from the front with a napkin, fork and knife, so for someone on the right and for someone on the left, soup is served without a spoon, you also have to ask for the bread separately, Sause with Mistkratzerli also without a spoon to ladle. It would also be a good idea to dust off the piano and go to the toilet. All in all an absolute disaster, once and never again.

Very beautiful there on the banks of the Walensee. Eat. A little higher priced for German wallets. But the food is good. Had beef skewer with fries, sauces and salad. Under 30sfr. Beer non-alcoholic 0.33 7.20sfr. Take the bucket straight away.

Regular customers here. Always fantastic . Love the food the location next to the lake. Staff always Uber professional and attentive. If you don't like this restaurant you don't enjoy eating out. Brilliant experience.

My husband poisoned himself with old chicken meat and spent the whole night on the toilet. Small portions, big prices. Would not recommend. A stomach ache and a hospital visit and all for 120 euros. Old chicken and old oil.

Was sent away from the table where I was assigned because it was reserved for the people who left. But they didn't come later. Food was great, but sauces were missing and came relatively late. Ambiance is actually nice, right on the main street.

We ordered 2 mixed salads with chicken strips price (53.80 Fr.). Salad looked like it had been lying around for several days, the chicken strips were very dry and the boss just said I would pass it on to the kitchen and still charged the full price. Price performance is absolutely not right. Not recommended.

True on Monday for dinner. Yes, there are such dingy restaurants in Switzerland! The food, I think the microwave was in use. Unfortunately the waiter was also grubby, dirty shirt… Definitely not recommended. That's why no stars are given

Ate good. Supplement for chicken wings at your discretion for just CHF 5.00. My partner's stroganof came from the streamer and was unfortunately correspondingly tough.

Great location. I haven't eaten something so delicious in a long time. Friendly. We were there with our Newfoundland dog and he felt really comfortable too. I can simply recommend it

Unfortunately, the food was only slightly seasoned, which was a shame, otherwise OK. It's the location that matters.

The worse experience I have ever have in restaurant. We ordered ice-cream waiting about 30 mins and at the same time others came ordering coffee then in a fr mins was ready… obviously taking time of ice-cream is much less than making coffee…. The staff were so strange, the behavior of a guy with tie and glasses was so rude…

French cuisine, cooking was well prepared. service very well continued it's a good voice.! the steak served in one piece with the bones.

Had asparagus in a fine sauce with pasta and veal schnitzel which was very good. Large Cordanbleu Chicken varaionen. Large selection of dessert

We love the chicken wings à discretion because they never disappoint and are simply inexpensive. The staff is always friendly and the view of the lake rounds off the experience well.

Meh are often seen in the resti... Always fine! BBQ wings are great!! KFC is no use against it...

It's the third time we've eaten chicken wings al you can eat here. Very fine! We'd love to come back! I have not experienced the reviews about negative service. He was courteous with us, gave us time and was friendly!

I'm surprised that the restaurant only has 3 stars in the reviews. My impression for the first time. There were 3 young waiters and one waitress serving. - Very nice welcome - competent consulting - fast service - fine salad and fine fries I hope I'll drive by again? A nice Sunday and good business

The only nice thing was the view. The waiter was visibly annoyed, we didn't feel comfortable when we ordered. The salad was rotten and brown, chicken wings were ok. The service was not attentive, once and never again

This was our third time eating here because we always liked the atmosphere and we liked the service and the cuisine. The location almost directly on the lake is of course also very nice. This time our "Coq au vin de Bourgogne" wasn't quite as fine: the sauce was more of a normal gravy, there were a few vegetables, and the "half" Güggeli was quite thin. Meat lovers wouldn't get their money's worth. Therefore a point deducted. But it wasn't bad. The service was good and attentive. When our chicken was a little too red on the bone, it was cooked without any problems.

We order two lasagnes, because was the only vegetarian option, they were in different plates one was smaller but of course the same price. The waiter was really horrible. He didn't smile or seems happy at all and we had to wait so much till he come. But at least the girl how bring us the food was nice. If u don't eat meat I will really not recommend it.

We were there after a hike to have a quick coffee. The gentleman was unfriendly and seemed derogatory towards us. Had to wait a long time for the coffee. The staff is absolutely disinterested. The regular guests spend a long time talking to each other and the new customers wait in vain. After the second request, we were handed the menu card. Black Forest seemed like it had come straight from the freezer - I absolutely can't recommend it. Cappuchino is small and generally it is expensive for the service provided.

Bad service as if they didn't feel like working! And you can't even take the food you paid for home with you!

Chicken wings in a basket! 1) waited too long 2) were undercooked, tasteless, red at the bones 3) Service not attentive and without interest 3) when you report the problem, the answer comes: should we put the food in the fryer quickly??? No comment... I have to give suffering a star!!

Lovely location, good service, and really really tasty fried chicken. Get the all-you-can-eat chicken basket. I recommend 'country' or 'BBQ'-style (the 'classic' was a tad too salty for my taste). The price is fair for a Swiss tourism area and what you get is worth it.

Not only is the location of the restaurant nice, but the food is also very good with fair prices. The staff is very efficient, competent and friendly. I always like to come back here. I can highly recommend this restaurant to you.

Last week we were at the Brasserie du Lac in Weesen around 10 a.m. and wanted to have a coffee/summit before a boat trip. Self-service is the order of the day at the counter in the restaurant, no problem, quite understandable after a pandemic and a likely staff shortage. We waited in a short line and the young man at the checkout did his best but there was a tense atmosphere in the room. A choleric older employee stood at the coffee machine and stared so penetratingly at the young man's fingers, making a mess of him in front of us guests, it was extremely unpleasant for everyone involved. Hats off to the young man who remained calm and friendly despite this unspeakable situation. When it was my turn, I said to the young man: You are doing your job very well, don't let yourself be put off. Later, when I went to the toilet, I found out in a short conversation that the young man was in his first year of training. It's a shame that superiors in the catering industry still think they have to treat young (still learning) staff like this. I trained in the catering industry myself in the 1990s and unfortunately experienced a lot in this regard, but that was 30 years ago... If there is a personnel shortage in a not-so-attractive professional group, the superiors should consider whether they... can afford to treat adolescents so badly. It doesn't speak for the supposedly older generation when young people are so degraded and humiliated - unfortunately there is no trace of the wisdom of the older generation. This was very, very unpleasant for me and my companions and employee training for the cholerically overwhelmed superior would be a good investment. However, there is nothing wrong with the location and the coffee and the croissants and the young, very friendly and courteous man.

Very good location, right on the lake. Large interior and. A large garden terrace. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and very fine food. Good selection for every taste. Highly recommended.
