Brasserie Reh in Winterthur

I called and wanted to reserve a table then I said my name and it's a bit foreign and he insulted me in Bosnia and hung up on me

Really bad. We ordered a Wiener Schnitzel three times and received a lump of meat that was just a strip for just under 48 francs per person. That doesn't work. Heaven sad. Never again, a restaurant like this should be closed by the authorities. That's cheating.

Man oh man!! It must be really difficult to put a Wiener Schnitzel on your plate. Please stop ruining a national dish.

On Friday evening the two of us had homemade tagliatelle with sun-dried tomatoes, strips of beef and my best friend ordered the club sandwiches with a glass of open Pino Noir. We are two experienced gentlemen in life and lo and behold Everything was top fresh and well-planned portions. Apart from a few homemade bowls of French fries from the juicy club sandwiches, there was nothing left. Halfway through the well-intentioned portion, I didn't think I would finish the plate with the delicate tagliatelle, as it was so fresh and prepared with great attention to detail, I ate it up in no time. The reception, the welcome, the service, the waitress as if from a better world, they literally read your wishes from your eyes. The next time we visit we have to register for Idealer Weisse. This time we went in on the chance. And we were just able to get a place. My only friend and I went one house further, satisfied and strengthened. Perfect, very pleasant climate and ingenious products. We were surprised that in today's fast-paced world there is still something so unique and relaxed in a city like Winterthur.

Went to meet a friend for dinner and a bottle of wine. We ordered Wienerschnitzel with fries and salad. To eat we were given a pressed meat-like piece in an inedible coating. After a complaint we received an extra portion of the same cheap food. Conclusion: Wine was the salvation - but 36 hours of stomach ache from the food. Since I couldn't find an email address, I wrote a postal complaint to the restaurant management and haven't received a response yet. Never again in the deer although the service was nice and understanding.

Really good food in a relaxed atmosphere.

Mixed feelings. There were a lot of positives but also negatives. I particularly liked the location itself. The service was also extremely friendly and handled difficult situations well. Pizza and spaghetti were very good. The meat was also of high quality, unfortunately it was more medium than medium rare but you can turn a blind eye to that. It was definitely tender and juicy. The appetizer attracted negative attention. A French onion soup that wasn't. Even after seasoning it four times with salt and pepper, it was absolutely tasteless. 4 croutons and some mozzarella on the bottom of the soup, yes that's not a cheese crust like you expect. Bruschetta was also bland, and the garlic sauce on the shrimp was a simple mayo, shrimp was frozen. Price was OK, the main course and the service made up for the questionable starters.

Relaxing atmosphere and nice food

We were all very disappointed with the food. When I was looking for the toilet I was asked in Italian if I wanted to pay, even though I ordered about 2 minutes before. We will definitely not visit this restaurant again: miserable food at exorbitant prices.

The food was terribly bad. The venison ragout was tough, overcooked and some pieces were still cold! The porcini mushrooms noted on the menu were missing. The Spätzli resembled a 3-day-old rice pudding porridge and tasted of nothing. The sauces didn't taste like anything either. The service was demotivated, the empty cups from the previous guests weren't even cleared away and we waited 15 minutes to be able to pay. Once and never again!

The food was very tasty and the service was friendly. What made me particularly happy was the disabled toilet on the ground floor.

We visited this restaurant for an aperitif for a special occasion - probably for the last time: the service was little or not at all interested in us and the aperitif was below average.

We ate very, very well from the starter (fish soup) to the dessert, but unfortunately the service was understaffed and disorganized, so you had to wait a very long time - from ordering to paying.

Today I had lunch at the Brasserie Reh on Marktgasse in Winterthur. I found a shady outdoor table at street level and was served quickly and very friendly. I got beef bourguignon and mashed potatoes garnished with fried onions in a separate bowl. Overall it was a huge portion. I was already full after half of it. It was presented quite nicely, but I could tell at first glance that it wasn't the Boeuf Burguignon that I know and love. It was OK, so nothing that really wows me. The service was really great and deserved 5 stars. It is worth mentioning that the building was built in 1615 and was originally attached to the clock tower of the western city gate, also known as the Chefiturm. In 1871 the city gate was demolished. The historic rooms on the first floor are particularly worth seeing. The beamed ceiling bears the year 1620.

Good pizza, mixed salad one of the largest we've ever had in a restaurant. Tasted very good. Super friendly service.

Environment was great and the staff was nice. Dessert was far from good; when I asked if they made it daily I was told that “it lasts up to 3 days” so they don’t make fresh ones everyday, and the taste proved that theory. Using raw eggs for something and let it sit for days = food poisoning.

Salad was good. Long grain rice risotto just isn't that great. If you're a brasserie offering Italian food, then you're doing it right. Raw zucchini doesn't really go well with it either. The employees were all friendly and attentive.

the best restaurant in the canton, we drive here specifically from Zurich to eat a typical venison salad, drink delicious coffee and eat ice cream, and what a chicken fillet with vegetables they have here...mmmm

Food was ok. Nothing special. Service was very friendly, but rather slow. Generally too expensive.

We had to wait about 20 minutes before we were even served. (I had almost no guests) It took another 20 minutes until we got our ice cream. We had to wait about 30 minutes until someone noticed us. (They deliberately ignored us) and some of the employees were smoking to our left while we were waiting for the bill. Others talked to other employees in the restaurant. All around a pretty bad experience.

The food itself tastes very good in this restaurant. Where I have to criticize is the service. You bring the salad with the main course... where do you do something like that... and pepper and cheese came to the table 10 minutes later. The empty glasses and plates were simply left standing when we placed another drink order. In the end, our table for 2 was full of dishes and glasses... there's clearly room for improvement. It's a shame for the very nice restaurant.

Been there twice. The first time we were at least served, the second time we sat there for about 20 minutes and weren't served. There's a lack of staff and those who serve there don't have an eye for the customers.

I think it's a nice place and it's great that it still exists. We met for an aperitif, I wanted something without alcohol and was curious to see if there was something different than the normal unimaginative things. She suggested something to me that sounded great, unfortunately it was just sweet and tasted like syrup, I think she called it a mojito. It's a shame, but it was still something different than usual, maybe it could be improved? It was great that the waitress made an effort when we asked if there was anything to nibble on with the aperitif. She wanted to check and brought peanuts at no extra charge. Even though I would have paid it! It would be really innovative if it were introduced that there would be something for the aperitif. Without having to ask!

Had to wait a long time for the drinks, and after that the food wasn't really good. Entrecote was not as cooked as ordered, vegetables were incredibly oily... Salad was ordered with separate Italian sauce, but came with French dressing already on the salad. We were still eating and the waitress wanted to clear the plate... 109.- for two main courses including a veggie, two aperitif drinks, a tea, a coffee and 1.5l mineral is definitely too much!

I can recommend the Brasserie Reh restaurant to everyone because the service from the Brasserie Reh Winterthur team is great and the team is very friendly and nice. And the food is very, very tasty and the food is also very, very nicely prepared. Again any time. Deserved 5 stars!!!

We have been there several times (to eat and drink). The food is very good, the service, especially the lady, is unfortunately very rude! About three months ago, when the temperatures were warm, we sat down outside, there were other guests outside and we waited for 20 minutes. in vain to a waitress who asked us about our order. After 20 minutes. I went to the restaurant, went to the counter and asked if they served outside, we would wait. There was an annoyed “yes” and the lady ran away. Back outside we said to ourselves that we had another 5 minutes. would wait and leave otherwise. That's how it happened, because no one came until then. Today we wanted to go up to the terrace and asked if it was open “Yes”. When we went up the stairs, the lady came towards us and wanted to give us a place inside. We then said that we would like to go out on the terrace, whereupon she responded with an unfriendly “No, that's not possible, I'm alone”. There was a family with two small children upstairs, others were serving downstairs. We then said we had actually asked specifically and so she took our order on the stairs. We then sat for 45 minutes. outside and no one ever came to ask for another order or anything like that. Two guests arrived, but the family left in the meantime. So it wasn't exactly stressful... I reported this back when paying, probably to the wrong person (in terms of competence).

Went there for coffee before shopping

Just arrived from the Christmas market. Father son wanted to go to the toilet quickly and urgently. Waitress, "no only allowed for guests". I don't know what the legal situation is in Switzerland, but in the other EU countries it is mandatory to grant free access to the toilet, even if there are no guests. We tried a pizza here for the first time. My expectation of the pizza with vegetables was exceeded by its taste and crispiness. The service was very accommodating and it certainly wasn't the last time I've been here.

I was at the deer for lunch today. The salad for 28 francs initially came without sauce. But hardly edible even with sauce. And the wines are obscenely expensive.

The first time I visited this restaurant was in the summer. I really enjoyed the pasta and had been thinking about it for almost two months. I went there on my birthday - I was very disappointed! I waited 30 minutes (not many people), cocktails with an obscene amount of ice in the glass! Hardly any taste. Waiter service minus 5. Cheese, salt and spices were not served.
