Great hiking route to Burg Hohenklingen. Also possible to go by bike and car. The view is amazing!

Wonderful evening in the castle restaurant. Great view over Untersee and the Rhine, attentive and courteous service, menu for all tastes.

We were there yesterday for dinner for my partner's birthday. Consistently 5 stars from the service & the welcome to the food & the farewell. Here the guest really is still king. Thank you very much and we'll be back!

Wish I could go back here, the sweet fresh wine in the fall is extremely good, I think it's called Süsse. I went to Switzerland as an Au Pair and was lucky enough to visit here.

We went to the castle to eat at lunchtime on a Saturday. The fish and game were excellently prepared and the dessert was a sweet ending. The icing on the cake was the service with Andrea. It made eating and visiting the castle enjoyable. We can only recommend this restaurant with its unique atmosphere.

If the restaurant is closed, the short walk around the castle is definitely worth it. The view is breathtakingly beautiful. Next time it will definitely work out with a visit to the castle.

Very good restaurant with wonderful food and great service. The view from the castle is great, you can see the whole of Stein am Rhein. If you want to go to the restaurant you should make a reservation.

We were able to enjoy our Christmas party in the castle today. In addition to the fantastic food, the service was first class!! She was extremely attentive, super friendly and I was given special consideration because of my intolerances. I can highly recommend it. The review refers to the castle and not to the certainly great restaurant with an award. The castle is free to visit and you can see everything. There is also a small exhibition of modern paintings to admire. The view from the castle's outdoor terrace, which in summer also serves as the restaurant's terrace, of the town and the Rhine is fantastic. Don't forget photography. The climb through the vineyards is also great. If you only drive up, you miss this.

Wonderful ambience, very well maintained facility. Enjoy the view on the wooden clad balcony - gigantic. The castle, castle chapel and castle tower can be visited free of charge. Parking spaces are available free of charge. There is an elevator (from the parking lot) for disabled people.

Great food, nice and competent staff.

We didn't go to the restaurant. Horrible, nose-squeezing smells (not fragrances) came out. I'm not picky, but this was altar stinker. Not a single star. (I do not usually do that.)

Very nice restaurant in the great castle with a perfect view. We only ordered something delicious from the snack menu and an Aperol Spritz, but everything was great and the service was quick and friendly 👍🏼

I received quick and informative answers from the restaurant, around five months before the visit. Organization of an excursion for 10 people. Lunch à la carte at the end of September. The three hours in the castle and in the restaurant flew by: after the aperitif, the group ordered Wienerschnitzel and pike-perch fillet and cheese variations: everything was excellent, including the starters, summer salad and the Riesling soup and the desserts. Price/performance is right. The castle invites you to stroll freely after your meal - allow around thirty minutes for this - it has one or two information boards, modern elements made of glass and steel flow into the restored old walls, a wonderful view over Stein am Rhein and how the Untersee becomes the Rhine. The restaurant was recommended to me by a friend from the region. And they always know best.

Tough climb but a great view of Stein am Rhein. We can't say anything about the food since we were only at the castle.

The castle can also be visited without visiting the restaurant. I included the visit in a hiking tour... Very nicely restored, informative and an interesting exhibition...

I love this unique place, the castle, the view, everything.

There isn't much to see in Hohenklingen Castle. There doesn't seem to be any guidance. You can move around on your own. No entrance fees and parking is free. Unfortunately we didn't visit the associated restaurant.

Top location with friendly staff

The restaurant is located directly in the castle. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy a great view of the town of Stein am Rhein from the battlement. The entrecôte was fried pink and fell apart in the mouth. Delicious!

Our visit to the Burg Hohenklingen restaurant was an unforgettable experience. The service was first class, attentive and friendly, which made the food taste even better. The meal itself was fantastic, a culinary masterpiece that made my taste buds dance. The atmosphere of the castle gives the whole thing a unique charm. I highly recommend this restaurant, it is an absolute must for any foodie. A visit here is not just a meal but an experience not to be missed.

You can enjoy a wonderful view of the Rhine downstream from Stein am Rhein from Hohenklingen Castle. That alone makes it worth a trip. I was there on a Sunday and couldn't find a place outside on the terrace. That's why I recommend visiting on weekdays or by reservation.

Great castle, lovingly repaired. Nice interplay between old and new that subtly complements the inventory. The entire property is very successful. I can rate the restaurant because it was closed when we visited. But the map reads very well...

I can't comment on the food or service. We just went to the castle 🏰 to look at it. It's nice if something like this still exists and can be viewed in part true to the original. Parking spaces are free and there are enough available. The climb to the castle is not too difficult. There are information boards inside. There is even a small exhibition or museum. Toilets 🚽 are clean. You have a great view of Switzerland and Lake Constance. Everything great.

Superb medieval place with a superb view of the Rhine. Service a little spartan but very good desserts (we only had dessert)

Castle can be visited free of charge. There is a barbecue area with a lawn nearby.

This place has a beautiful view. Looking down at the village, the Rhine River, and the city's landscape. Located on a high mountain Must travel up by car, bicycle or on foot. There are restaurants and restrooms available. This place has beautifully preserved and still maintains the original condition of the castle. You can go see the inside of the castle. Because some places restrict people from going to see the inside. Restaurant service was good. Can cater Coming in winter is beautiful in another way. Come summer, the view is beautiful and the weather is also good. Every time I come, I'm not disappointed. Sipping coffee or ice cream is very satisfying. I like it.

I can only rate the castle itself since we didn't eat anything here. We came across the castle by chance because we noticed it from below, from Stein am Rhein. We then spontaneously drove up straight to the castle. All parking spaces were occupied. Then we waited a bit. You can walk right around the castle, but you couldn't get any really good pictures because you're too close to the wall. The inner courtyard and entrance are then easier to photograph. The castle was renovated a few years ago. The restaurant is really nice, with the balcony. You have a great view of Stein am Rhein. If you want to go to the tower, you have to walk past the tables, then up a flight of stairs, then there is the living room, then the bedroom, then the top level with the cannon and the great view. Then it's really worth it. The tables are set up really nicely and the guests' food also looked great. There is also an accessible, beautiful toilet, down on the left when you come in. The view is really great and I think the food is certainly too.

Great castle, unfortunately we didn't eat.

We only visited the castle, which has a very good view of the surrounding area. By the way, the part of the castle that can be visited has also been beautifully renovated, faithfully reflecting the conditions of that time.

Beautiful walk-in castle complex with breathtaking views. Various dining rooms are very antique and some have been renovated with modern elements. Unfortunately there was a very loud group in the same room, so normal conversation was not possible.

You should definitely go to the castle. It's really interesting and you have an amazing view over Stein am Rhein. Parking is free and the castle is also free. Enjoyed it very much. We can't say anything about the restaurant because it was closed when we were there.

Here you have a wonderful view of Stein am Rhein, the rows and the Lake Constance region. Visiting the castle is free. There is free parking at the foot of the castle, making the climb pleasant.

We've been there several times this month because the location, the service and ultimately the food leave nothing to be desired.

An amazing place, the atmosphere and the food is always top-notch. The last time we went out for a family dinner, notified the personal that one of the guests has pepper intolerance, and they have handled it perfectly, even provided a substitute appetizer option with no pepper added. Thank you for the beautiful time and will certainly visit again :)

We arrived by ship and the climb took about 25 minutes (easy climb). We had a table on the veranda, which gave us a great view of Stein am Rhein and the surrounding area. We only had a veal schnitzel each with the house's own wine and a grappa at the end, everything was top. The service was always present & friendly. The restaurant has its price, if you see and taste the location & the quality it is justified.

Nice views from the tower. The number of tables in the terrace is quite limited but we were lucky to get one. Sadly there's only cold dishes menu between 13:30 and 18:30 but there's still wine, and mixed platter was a good snack.

Very nice location and very friendly staff. Food was okay. It's a bit of a shame that the stairs to the knight's hall are very steep and that the path to the parking lot isn't illuminated at night. The location is in the forest and it is pitch black. You could at least work with motion detectors and then illuminate the path for a few minutes.

Old castle which has been expanded into a breathtaking location. Very fine food, absolutely professional service in a very special atmosphere. Pure enjoyment in every respect. Wheelchair accessible as a lift has been installed. Beautiful view. Simply an experience.

Very well-preserved castle, great location, it's nice that you don't have to pay anything to visit it! If you have difficulty walking, you can drive to the upper parking lot almost to the castle. If you like hiking, you can start from the old town of Stein am Rhein or from one of the hiking car parks located around the city. A visit to the castle's restaurant is definitely worth it; you can also enjoy the view of the city from here. Prices and services are okay!

Can highly recommend a walk to this lovely castle. There are 2 options getting to the castle, one steep but shorter and the other slightly longer but not as steep initially. Gorgeous views of Stein am Rhein. There is a great little restaurant at the top of the castle. Toilets are there too. Definitely a must see if you go to canton Schaffhausen. Accessing Stein am Rhein from Schaffhausen Main Train station is easy to access via a 30 minute train ride , you can also access Stein am Rhein via boat through various cruise companies (I would suggest to look online for timetables). Truly is a perfect day out for some great walking activity , fresh air and stunning views and scenery.

Excellent, a great view of one of the most impressive cities I have ever seen

the perfect excursion destination for everyone from Ramsen and the surrounding area: the castle is a single museum, free of charge, and the dungeon in which a "ghost" is up to mischief is still worth the horror. It's just a shame that the lamp under the last staircase doesn't turn off automatically when you're down, so it takes forever to see anything down there because of the annoying lamps... as I said, I think it would be cool if the lighting turned on when you have to go up or down the stairs. The restaurant is upscale, both in terms of price and taste... and always invites you to a beautiful ambience.

A beautiful restored castle with a wonderful view of Stein am Rhein. I particularly liked it in the dark as it is beautifully lit. There is a very nice restaurant in the castle with excellent cuisine. All the employees were very friendly and accommodating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👌 I will definitely come again.

Everything is perfect, from the train station with a well-signposted path, great climb, about 30 minutes with a 5-year-old child, free castle tour, view from the tower is magnificent, lots of information and the staff is happy to answer any questions. the food and the wine/drinks menu are appropriate, My recommendation is to reserve a table. Indescribably beautiful, super good food, exceptionally friendly

We dined in the Burg Restaurant in mid-October. It was a wonderful evening with great food, delicious wine and a wonderful view. The professional and pleasant service from the two ladies rounded off the evening. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to the great Burg-Hohenklingen team! We'd love to come back!

It's a beautiful castle and the coffee was great

Very difficult climb. We went up with the e-bike but it was very strenuous and I wouldn't necessarily do it again. There is also a restaurant upstairs.
