Very good cuisine, good service, friendly, beautiful location and view

Fantastic grotto with a gigantic view of Lake Maggiore. The boss and staff are absolute professionals: courteous but not intrusive, very warm and, above all, know what they are doing. The food was excellent, once again a big compliment to the chef.

Very good cuisine and very friendly service. Were treated very like family. Excellent view. We really enjoyed it this afternoon and last night. A visit to this grotto is definitely worth it, especially for people who like good ambience and good food.

The dish of the day was disappointing, beef entrecote was tough and full of nerves, not good flavour. Extra virgin olive oil for salad dressing TASTELESS and ODORLESS! It's a shame as the location deserves a lot, friendly staff.

A beautiful grotto. The view was fantastic and the restaurant is generally in a very quiet location. The service was quick and competent as well as very nice. Apart from that the food was very tasty. We were particularly impressed by the homemade dessert.

The place is very nice, they have a huge, well-equipped covered terrace where you can eat even in the rain. The service this time was not at the top... not too much attention is paid to the customer. It's a shame because we have already been there other times and were very happy. Despite this the cuisine is excellent.

Stupendous!!! Beautiful location with multiple terraces and a breathtaking view of Lake Maggiore. Grotto modern and adapted to the times.. What can I say about the dishes.. Spectacular and delicious where quality and quantity are combined with a presentation of a true restaurant!!! The choice and association of the same deserve applause.. WELL DONE!!! I took a venison carpaccio which is honestly one of the best things I've tried and as a second braised meat with polenta... Congratulations you made me dream. I'll definitely be back.. Table service could be improved.. They deserve the five stars anyway.

What a great restaurant! The staff were in a very good mood and seemed professional. The prices were moderate I also think it's great that they offer a Seitan Steak! That alone actually deserves one more star. Large selection also for vegetarians and delicious desserts

Magnificent views over Lake Maggiore and a wonderful ambience. The food is to die for. Our favorites (we order them regularly when we are there) osso buco with risotto and the tiramisu. Highly Recommended.

Beautiful location, wonderful ambience and the service as well as the cuisine are absolutely PERFECT! 👍🏽 As soon as you enter the Grotto Ca' Nostra, you are warmly welcomed and while you are escorted to the table, another employee follows with a dog bowl with fresh water! We love our four-legged friends here, as we were told several times, and yes, that is actually the case! 🥰 The service was so courteous, attentive and in a good mood that you unfortunately rarely experience anymore. The food was absolutely top class - bad PERFECT! And yes, there was even a short one on the house....or two or... We will definitely eat at Grotto Ca' Nostra again ♥️

Our dishes were quite good but the service was deplorable. As soon as we were seated, the waiter only repeated to us “aperol? Aperol? Aperol? » without having yet been able to look at the drinks menu. Strange to push consumption like that… Then we had to constantly fight for his attention and order. For desserts we abandoned the idea after 20 minutes of attempts on our part and obvious avoidance on his part (constant back and forth in front of our table to get rid of others, looking in his shoes each time). Even to pay you had to hang on! However, seeing the vegetables on the plates of the tables next door we began to doubt the general quality: all the meats and fish were served with the same mix of vegetables which resembles that frozen mix that they serve you in all season: broccoli, carrots (cut in a zig zag pattern for a more chic look), celery and zucchini. Barely thawed and boiled, our neighbor even complained about it. In short, we won't be coming back: quantity clearly takes precedence over quality...

Highly recommended, we always like to go to Ca'Nostra to enjoy a cozy evening. The ambience, the nice landlady, the super fine Ticino food, the view... all in all perfect for us.

Only one star because you can't do less. I recommend looking carefully at the prices and not trusting what the waiters say. It's not worth commenting on the red wine - in bulk - paid a premium and served practically frozen. I won't set foot there again, after all there are many other Grotti that offer quality, courtesy and honest prices. Absolutely not recommended

We ate divinely! I appreciated however that they informed us that the tables served by us are served by a German speaking waiter only! Well, we Ticino people are very welcoming, if they know where they go to eat in our place... Let's hope that other countries follow suit - in Thailand in a couple of years I will order in dialect, in short we speak the tourist's language otherwise we are rude! Controversy aside, the cuisine is truly 5*!

Nice restaurant in an excellent location, good food and “terribly bad” service. Received the menu and then the question: what would you like to drink, we talked about wine and the waiter disappeared with the comment: “We want to take a look first”, unfortunately we didn't find any wine on the menu. We were then rescued by a nice lady who served us as usual and even brought over a wine list. The game was repeated after dinner when the same waiter asked us if everything was OK, we said yes, maybe another gelati? Whereupon the waiter didn't show up for more than half an hour and then suddenly appeared empty-handed and looked at us questioningly. We ordered the bill. 1 time and never again!!!

Were there in June 2022. Were very disappointed! The staff was feigned friendly and grumpy. Our waiter couldn't even speak German. A year ago I had veal steak with noodles there, wonderful. I can live with the fact that this dish no longer exists. But it's not that I can't find anything I like on the menu, which is too small!!! Weird veal liver etc. No Piccata Milanese, no lasagna, no Tomten mozzarella! Not even pizza! The only thing that brings joy is the view. Anything else is a disaster! Will never go there again!

We have reserved a table for 4 people for the evening. Upon arrival we were informed that there was only a reservation for 2 people! After a lot of back and forth we were pushed into a corner at a round table! We spoke to the waiter several times about this unpleasant situation complained and he treated us very, very arrogantly!!! We will never visit this grotto again and will not recommend it!!!

I was looking for a grotto.....I would say that the grotto is just the name.....in reality it is a nice restaurant with a spectacular view of Lake Locarno. We ate very well. Prices a little higher than average.

Warning: don't go there. We left after 2 hours without food. The restaurant operates at double occupancy and has too few staff. The kitchen is extremely overwhelmed. A big disappointment. Avoid this place!

Home without food We were, or rather wanted to eat, at Ca' Nostra... We don't know whether it was good - after 2 hours we gave up hope of a warm meal and left. You can do that with tourists: double occupancy and understaffing. Not even water was offered. It is worrying that the staff is ashamed and has to apologize for the poor management. show less

Very stylish grotto furnished in Ticino style in an excellent location above Lake Maggiore. Excellent food and great service that leaves nothing to be desired. Rather luxurious atmosphere, but reasonably priced.
