Café Chaplin in Genève

Great discovery, the staff is welcoming and friendly, the dishes are excellent, the perfect restaurant to enjoy good dishes to share!

Delicious food! Customer service was fantastic! We had a very pleasant time with our work team and we plan to return.

Previously, for decades, it was a wooden temple. It's located right across the street from where I live and yet I've never been inside. Looking at the photos and the reviews I am sure that it is certainly much better than the Tea-room which is right next door. and which has been drowning in false favorable opinions since I wrote an unfavorable comment during the Covid period because it was absolutely not supportive. Yet the place gives me the impression of being closed off, withdrawn into itself. The exterior is extremely sober, 2 tables max outside, and only if the weather is nice, the glazing is almost opaque making it impossible to see at all if there are people there, among others, and especially not of external menu to look at the dishes offered and no slate boards where the dish of the day could be written, and other little things like the price of coffee with croissant, orange juice, ... in short the ABC of the profession of hotel. Nothing encourages me to enter there since nothing encourages me to enter there. The place absolutely does not give the illusion of being a café restaurant. For fun I'm giving three stars because despite everything, it seems clean to me... but too cold. Accessible to people with disabilities ♿️

Nous avons découvert ce restaurant grâce au passeport gourmand, et nous avons adoré ! Ce charmant petit restaurant, situé dans une rue calme des eaux vives, a fait voyagé nos papilles le temps d’une soirée ! ;) Les mets, de l’entrée au dessert, étaient tout simplement délicieux, relevés à la perfection, et très savoureux ! La carte, qui change régulièrement, ne comprend que quelques plats qui avaient l’air tout aussi bons les uns que les autres ... Et j’espère y retourner avant que la carte ne change pour tous les goûter!! De plus, le restaurant est tenu par une famille très sympathique, accueillante, et patiente, qui prend le temps de nous expliquer ce menu que nous ne connaissons pas. Bref, si vous recherchez quelque chose de différent, que vous voulez vous évader le temps d’une soirée, en dégustant un délicieux repas qui sort de l’ordinaire, foncez-y!! Vous ne serez pas déçus ;)
