Café des Bergues in Genève

Coming regularly to this small, very Parisian café. I was able to enjoy a delicious breakfast, the orange juice was fresh and pressed in front of me, the croissant was crisp and the coffee was quality. As usual, I will come back. Little extra for Sarah, the very smiling and pleasant waitress!

Too expensive and bad service. Haven't been served for too long and not very friendly staff.

This small café is located on the quai des Bergues right on the edge of the transition between the Rhône and the lac Léman. If you find yourself on a sunny day, then the view from the outdoor terasse is dazzling. The staff is very friendly and enthusiastic and the setting, chairs and tables are very stylish and attractive. The drinks are pricey, but given the location and view, and that we are in Geneva, it is quite understandable and explains why it didn't affect my rating. So if the sun is out and you want to stop by a small café (and can afford to pay a little bit extra), then you should totally try le Café des Bergues.

Great place but specially i take my hat off to the woman working in this cafe bar is a great professional, high-quality service while working alone with a full venue. Keep up the great work 🙏

Cozy cafe. 13 francs for a wheat beer isn't exactly a bargain. But a nice view of the Geneva fountain.

The company has no credit. It charges twice as people pay, and after several times of reimburse request, even if the staff always said the manager will refund the money asap, they never did. Liar.

A little have you seen me, price accordingly

From New York, live in Singapore and was in Geneva for 1 night and found this gem along the river. Without a doubt the best Martini of all time. I’m coming back to Geneva just for this martini.

Disastrous service. Price of a 5 star without being so. Staff particularly aggressive when asked to justify the price of a coke at CHF 7 and a carafe of water at CHF 5. The place is nice but we need waitresses with less attitude who don't look down on customers. Damage

A good spot in Geneva to quietly sip your cocktail, watch the water (or people passing by) and meditate.

Perfect location but chaotic organization. Owner/manager wake up! A customer from the very beginning, the staff changes “every 3 weeks”. They seem to be at the end of their rope every time. Opening hours seem to fluctuate. In the morning, some customers are served, others have to wait until the terrace is set up (10 a.m. and the café opens at 9 a.m., no sense). The location is perfect for afterwork but the café closes at 7 p.m. At least yesterday May 3, 2023. In short… don’t be in a hurry at all. In my opinion, a waste. Hoping that this changes for the better because once again the location is just great and this place could be very pleasant - simply, perhaps, by hiring a second person. Nb: I tend to post positive opinions but sometimes, constructive ones are also needed

The only positive point is the location and the terrace. Be careful, even if the menu says pressed orange/lemon juice, don't order because you will be served a juice in a carton made from concentrate. Go your way

Very friendly, they speak Spanish and if it's cold there is a blanket to cover up and a bonfire, the cafe is very big

If you want to have a coffee with a view of the lake, why not. But coffee is already expensive: 4.50chf but the quality of service is at a minimum. There are coffee residues on the saucer (see photo) and the cup served is already stained with coffee. For this price, I prefer to go elsewhere.

Lovely place to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine on a sun-drenched promenade overlooking Le Lac. Very friendly and efficient waiter. A little pricey, but you are paying for the view, the location and the sun. Recommended on a sunny day.

Certainly this place is well placed! That’s not all!!!! You still need to know and want to welcome the customer with professionalism, generosity and elegance! The first “information” sent to us upon our arrival: “I’m warning you, I don’t have / no more coffee” (it’s 6:00 p.m.) Us: “….this is not what we wanted to order” 4 glasses of champagne later: “Do you have anything to nibble with the champagne?” NO!!! ….. What Professionalism and Generosity!! The time comes to pay for our consumption: No invoice or even ticket??? The young man serving (obviously stressed because he has been alone since the morning, he tells us) ... at the same time ..... he must not "manage" the terraces of Place du Molard.. either! “if you are not satisfied tell my boss, because I no longer have a printer (for tickets..) Us: the name of your boss? Him: Ah, I can't pass that on to you! It is time for certain people who claim to be professionals to respect their customers by truly giving themselves the means to be so because after all.....it is the customers who allow these people to “run” their businesses, right? This is Geneva… that is to say… not very high in terms of requirements and respect for a certain know-how! Damage….

Very beautiful terrace on the banks of the Rhône with a breathtaking view of the water jet. Impeccable service and quality offering (food and drinks), I will come back.

The best place in Geneva for a drink with friends near the jet d'eau. Beautiful outdoor furniture, street artists in the background. Great time.

We had an enterprise get-together party here and we had great time with pleasant and funny ladies staff, whom I thank for their service. The choice wine was great, choice of beers should be expanded

A beautiful place with views of the river. We ordered a lemonade and a chocolate. Both were delicious. The prices are expensive although normal for the area.

Perfect place to create a nice café! The problem - zero umbrella and really high prices! If only the quality followed… My Negroni at the bottom of my glass was difficult to drink!

What a pleasure to have discovered this establishment on the Quai des Bergues. The pâté en croute and the Tarama with Wasabi were perfect. Breathtaking views and absolute calm. Not to mention the charm of the place, a typical chic Parisian bistro

Finally the quay comes alive with the arrival of a second café. The terrace with its tables all facing the river is very nice. No parasols so in full sun it's complicated but as soon as the sun goes behind the building it's perfect. Small downside regarding the prices which are as high as at the nearby Four Season. Too bad, at this price I don't think I'll come back. A spritz for 16.- or 1 dl of rosé for 13.- doesn't really appeal to me... Good luck anyway, even if I think you would have everything to gain from making prices more affordable to attract customers.
