Café Restaurant Au Suisse in Romont (FR)

A stone's throw from the Château de Romont (FR), the friendly Café-Restaurant Suisse welcomes us with a smile! With the ladies from the gym, we'll put the world back together in a good mood with a good coffee or other drink! See you next time to meet again! On this Saturday afternoon, 02.24.2024, it was on foot with my two friends (Cannes) that I came along Chemin de la Côte to the very well renovated “Café Restaurant Au Suisse” to drink a good chocolate hot ! After a short break, I headed not far from here to the Collegiate Church of the city to attend the 5:30 p.m. Holy Mass and then returned on foot passing near the Tour à Boyer who beckoned to me ! As its name suggests, delicious local cuisine, hearty and quality, 30 m from the entrance to the castle...at a very reasonable price...The perch fillets were perfect

A nice discovery... By chance while passing through romond Menu.. A killing between the surprising deer plate. In sauce with a pear and apple cinnamon accompaniment. Sweet and savory plate. We had dinner there recently, never again! Three francs for a carafe of water (without ice) from the tap… It’s not the boss who creates a good atmosphere. Courage to the employees.

The boss is not only bitter but also rude! She drops my bag on the floor twice. The first time, she said to me: "I hope there's no egg in it..." without apologizing. And the second time, she lets it slide on the ground like a shopping bag! When I tell her that I don't put my bag on the floor, she replies in an unpleasant and haughty tone: "Oh, sorry, Madam." It is obvious that decorum and elegance are not part of his daily life. It's a shame because his employee was very nice. This experience was unpleasant, I don't recommend the restaurant... It's a shame because the cuisine is okay!

Yum, we recognized the taste of coming back! everything was perfect from the aperitif to the coffee, Swiss specialties deserve to be known next to the magnificent stained glass museum on Place du Château 😍

Unfortunately I have to give this location a slightly more negative review. The food was of poor quality and too small for the price. In the end, our comrade was charged too much. We left the restaurant with a mild stomach feeling and still a little hungry. A pity.

Serve half full beer and insist on no substitutions.

Rip-off -Food was far too little for the price. -Had to pay for a drink I never had -I ordered a large drink 3 times and only received 1 large one

Excellent cuisine, beautifully renovated restaurant right next to the castle and inexpensive - what more could you want?

Good Fribourgois cuisine, including Rosti, Filet su Perche. Friendly attentive service in an authentic building. Prices seemed quite high for me e.g. 32 CHF for a plate of Filet du Perche.

No atmosphere, see if the food is good there

Unfortunately I had to eat with a team of friends all 2G except me but tested negative the same morning... I was sent away with my takeaway meal and being looked at like a plague victim. I don't want to give bad publicity to this new café in Romont.... Although VERY DISAPPEARED

The flank steak with shallots is simply succulent, the meat is tender, it's killer and the jpur dish is good and hearty and a delicious polemta well done

For lunch we tried the country omelette... inedible due to an abundance of salt. Without additions in addition to the ham and shaping according to the cook, but horrible all the same! And bland tortellini with bland sauce...

Simple, inexpensive meals. The service and the kitchen were impeccable.
