Beautiful place with nice hiking trails

Very unfriendly manager. Barely a hello, Mr. was getting impatient and complaining because I couldn't get my ticket out, my fingers were so frozen....we were the only two customers.

The fondue is royal, not to say imperial, the manager being a professional cheesemaker. We also tasted glariade, a sort of “Burgundy” fondue with Herens cow meat, excellent, the meat melts in your mouth. We highly recommend this simple and rustic establishment.

They bring us the menu and after 20 minutes of waiting, they come to tell us that the boss is in a bad mood and so he closed the kitchen. A shame !!! In addition, dogs are only allowed on the terrace...

Very nice place, staff not very smiling, I don't recommend the coffee, coffee served in a glass and it's a real sock juice.

What a disappointment for the double cream meringue, we who have been dreaming of this typical dessert for several months! It's ordinary, 12 Swiss francs...it's better to go to the dairy and the baker and prepare yourself a dessert which will have more taste and presentation Cantine En They, to escape!

I don't have any cash with me, and you can't pay by card there. Silly of me of course. But I find it scandalous and unheard of that I was not allowed to use the toilet.

Small canteen/refreshment bar. After a magnificent snowshoe hike, very nice to finish with a very good bowl of soup and a small glass of white wine. A few more tables and chairs are missing.

The location is marked open. We called for three days to try to make a reservation, but no response. Given the location we do not take the risk of going there without reservation. Too bad, the reputation of the place appealed to us but we had to book in another restaurant. 😕

Amazing ! After 15 days following my visit, I am still amazed at their miserable sense of welcome. Indeed, we were on a family walk accompanied by 8 children. We buy 8 ice creams in this establishment. When leaving, we simply ask them to fill 2 water bottles, so that the children will have something to drink on the way back. Dry and so mind-blowing response. "NO ! take the water from the pool!” For information, it is clearly written non-drinkable on the basin….

The They valley is a natural wonder. It's good to stop at They's canteen. An advice? Enjoy a homemade pie for dessert, cooked over a wood fire... Nearby, the herd of Hérens cows, relatively rare in Chablais, is worth a look. These beasts take part in fights and establish their hierarchy with horns, particularly during the Alps.

Magnificent valley floor, often very snow-covered. Dogs allowed only on the canteen terrace when it is open, picnics prohibited, except sitting on a barrier at a good distance from the benches, but hot drinks welcome during this Covid period, to take away.

Very nice plate from They. The dried meat was generous and very tasty. The cheese is excellent. Sparkling water at 18 chf per liter and a half is too expensive with children. Damage..

Alpine canteen, the boss and staff are very friendly. Every year, a raclette festival is organized. On foot, the access path runs along the river.

The apricot and cream tart is killer

I've never eaten there. On the other hand, I live in the region and I have met the owner of this canteen many times. He is probably polite and even pleasant with people who fill his wallet really well... on the other hand, if you are unfortunate enough to come across him while you are on a bike, he will have no respect for you and will force your way behind the wheel of your bike. his 4x4...and if you dare to make a remark he will clearly tell you that all cyclists, pedestrians and others are pains in the ass and complainers. (I'll spare you the profanities he is capable of saying)...coincidence? When I'm in the car I've never been yelled at by cyclists or pedestrians, although for him it seems very common. In winter if you continue beyond the canteen he will yell at you even if he doesn't climb a mountain... on the other hand the classic track that goes up to his refreshment bar he doesn't care if he massacres it with his snowmobile... He doesn't like athletes, nor people with dogs, the only thing he likes is making money...and only those who fill his fund deserve (maybe seen the other opinions) a minimum of respect. Then maybe the food is ok, but do you really want to give your money to someone so rude?

We just stopped there to buy a bottle of water. CHF 10.- 1.5 liters!!! Superb hiking and region, but remember to take your drinks and move on...

The food choice is limited, mainly fondue, but it is good! Personnel is very kind. Even in winter is easy is easy to reach with a 30 minutes walk With a sunny day the view is stunning !
