A huge hike but worth it!! A beautiful refuge where before entering, you take off your shoes and choose comfortable slippers. It is a designer retreat with an unmissable view. The menu offers typical dishes, I chose tagliatelle with wild boar ragout! It is possible to stay overnight and there is a beautiful fireplace.

Alpine hut used as a hostel or simply a restaurant. Very bright due to the very large windows that let in light.

In this rude place they don't take cards. Even if they have the predisposition for the pos. Exhausted after a long walk we wanted to eat, but we couldn't. We asked the owner to pay in another way (paypal, bank transfer) and he yelled at us that on the site it says that they don't accept POS, and that we would have to equip it. Clearly, however, there is nothing written about it on the site. Bottom line, we headed back on an empty stomach, he didn't even give us a sandwich. You are miracle workers. I wish you failure

After a very peaceful 1 hour and 30 hour walk with the family, we stopped to eat Zola braised polenta and mixed platter which I recommend! All very good and plentiful! We will be back...the only flaw is the limited choice of wines!

HI! A little kindness… There was a beautiful dog playing with a stick at the entrance. Unfortunately, despite ignoring it, she bit me on the thigh when I passed her. He later made the same gesture of nibbling two other people. I then reported the matter to the managers, to prevent further nibbling. Now, nothing against dogs, if they get excited no problem. But the managers who didn't show the slightest interest in asking if everything was okay, if I needed disinfectant, or even just apologizing, made a bit of a difference in the feeling of concern from a Capannaro! For the next time :)

We stayed in the cabin for one night and overall were very disappointed. The entire building was a bad construction with only 2 toilets for 42 beds, the hallway like an underground car park. The view is great, the rooms are nice, the dinner was also good, but we were annoyed about the breakfast: cold coffee (probably tapped from the machine) and apart from butter and jams, nothing else in the way of cold cuts - no cheese, no sausage. Compared to all the other huts in Switzerland, it's very meager and completely overpriced. The fact that everything (butter, jam) is in plastic containers and even the juice is served in plastic cups really annoyed me personally... no trace of sustainability!

After 1h40 of walking a splendid view of the Gulf of Lugano. Excellent cuisine. Possibility of sleeping in a room with an unobstructed view.

Really nice location, well organised, breathtaking view and great humanity on the part of the manager (unfortunately I don't remember his name), who met me and a friend on the bike along the way up and helped us in a moment of difficulty. And not only that, as soon as we arrived at the hut he also offered us a welcome beer. Kindness is priceless. We recommend everyone to go there!

Best mountain hut around Lugano, by a long mile! Easily accessible and with some of the best views in Ticino. The owner is welcoming, friendly and informal. Definitely recommended for any type of traveler!

Beautiful place and super kindness of the staff.

Wonderful experience for those who love to do a bit of exercise in the mountains. The hut is modern with a Self Service restaurant which offers a lot. The food is good, but you don't go there mainly for that. The service (partially Self Service) is excellent, everyone is very kind and helpful. You can also pay with twint (if you can get an internet connection). Nice excursion made on foot starting from Corticiasca, and great satisfaction when you arrive at the hut and can refresh yourself in front of a breathtaking view and a good dish or some appetizers.

A beautiful place, shame about the nice friendly service completely ruined with a request that I find bordering on ridiculous. Once you sit down and have ordered drinks for six people, after 10 minutes they feel entitled to tell you that you will have to get up soon to make room for those who want to eat. To say terrible is an understatement. Their request annoyed me a lot.

Exaggerated prices, terrible welcome, they asked us to get up 5 minutes after we arrived to seat others. Never again.

Great view and modern, but sometimes impractical architecture. Hanging options in the room not well thought out; How about a few more hooks on the wall or a clothesline stretched under the windows? The hefty extra charge for a double room wasn't worth it; The architect only planned one wet room for everyone on the upper floor. Breakfast was very poor. It's a shame that the potential isn't being exploited.

Definitely below expectations. We asked for a cheese platter (without cured meats) as we were vegetarians and were told that we couldn't have it, I wonder why it wasn't possible to cut and serve only the cheeses and I really can't explain it, because it didn't seem like a absurd request indeed. We then ordered tagliolini with porcini mushrooms and they were totally tasteless, coming from someone who is used to eating with very little salt and who generally never notices the lack of it. We were not even served a slice of bread as an accompaniment and not even any grated cheese was available which could have improved the dish a little other than some Grana Padano in a sachet, which was not recommended by the waiter himself. High prices, I generally have no problem paying a little more as long as the dishes and service are good but unfortunately this was not the case here. It's a real shame because they told me very well about it. One star only for the horses outside the hut, very cute :)

Enjoy a delicious meal and drink on the terrace with a beautiful view. Then we continued the road and unfortunately fell with the MTB shortly after departure (broken collarbone). I went back to get care and the men from Capanna Monte Bar took me to the next village, what great service! Definitely come back again! Thanks again for the good care!

It's always worth a good effort on foot or by MTB (the real one, not the fake electric one of failed "bikers"...). The view after a "real effort" (...) is the greatest reward.

Nice personel. Very family friendly. Nice rooms. Extremely comfortable for a hut, probably due to the good access and water supply. Enjoy your meal. Breakfast only at 8 a.m., but fine with everything you need.

The hut is quite new and modern, has a beautiful view of Lake Lugano, the food is good and the staff are friendly. To reach it from the "Corticiasca Paese" bus stop on the left, go up some stairs and walk along a little asphalted road with little traffic for about an hour before arriving in the woods. Once inside, you still have to walk about an hour and 20 minutes before arriving at the hut. Unfortunately, this season the path has some rather large ice sheets which you need to pay attention to.

Dream location, great location, fantastic view. It was just a little stormy. Tip for interested visitors: avoid rush hour

The view certainly needs no introduction and is a point of reference for every Lugano resident who wants to take a walk in the mountains. The hut offers excellent dishes that have nothing to envy of a restaurant and with many local products. Well done new managers!

maybe not your typical alpine SAC hut but rather a family/ biking friendly destination. staff (very friendly), location (great view), building (very modern) made it a nice stay! p.s. even though building seems new and sturdy (lots of concrete), it is not very soundproof so that you can hear the creaky door downstairs or your next room neighbors what might give you only a short sleep :-)

The view enjoyed from the terrace is worth the visit. Quite crowded around lunchtime on a beautiful Sunday in October. I did not eat the dishes offered by the kitchen, which is why I cannot comment on them.

It was very nice there, even if the chef didn't know how to make al dente. They were out 3 minutes early. But service is friendly and the bike ride up was very nice.

We were even able to enjoy a delicious braid for breakfast

This hut really looks more like a hotel than a SAC hut. The hut warden is not interested in his guests, loud disco music in the evening and even after 10 p.m. it is still quite loud around the hut. The food was also the worst I've ever had at a SAC hut, otherwise it's always the best! The breakfast was also very spartan, even for a hut. The view and the portion size are positive.

The hut you like or don't like. It appeals to those who want to take a walk and find themselves in a place with a stunning view, with excellent service, with affordable prices and an excellent environment. It doesn't appeal to those who are nostalgic for the old hut as the new one is mostly a restaurant. Enjoy your visit!

Very friendly staff, very good polenta stew

Great view, great food for dinner, glutenfree options & bread available, the employees were polite and it was clean. You have to pay extra to use the shower. And they are very particular about when they serve which tea. For whatever reason you can't get anything other than black tea for breakfast, even though they have many different teas, but they are only served after breakfast (I assume the other teas are fancier/more expensive than the black tea and is not included in the breakfast package).

We went there at the beginning of July 2021, the fondue was exceptional, the best we had eaten in our lives. Bread baked on site and homemade, potatoes and incredible melted cheese. Very pretty place and beautiful view. Although it's a sport to get there, it's definitely worth it. This is the place not to be missed during your visit to Switzerland!

Architecturally great and very modern hut with a fantastic view. The dinner for overnight guests was very tasty, but unfortunately the quantity was saved and there was unfortunately no second helping that is usual in SAC huts. The beer price of 8 CHF for half a liter of Boxer in a plastic cup is pretty outrageous for a hut that can be served by car. The breakfast was also very stingy: cheap industrial bread, ready-made confit, cheap muesli and no cheese. Unfortunately there was no marching tea either.

Nice view over the whole of Lugano and Lake Maggiore, but the hut is more reminiscent of a hotel than a classic SAC hut. The hut attendant doesn't put his heart and soul into it, it's a shame.
