Wonderful atmosphere, the service was very friendly and accommodating and the dishes were simply excellent! It has its price, but still recommended! We will definitely be pampering ourselves more often 😋

Just grabbed an empty seat after a long walk through the city till the bridge / bare park and ordered a - large - beer. Very nice and down to earth staff and a very nice atmosphere outside. A nice option to avoid the choices within the - touristic - city center

Very nice location by the river

Personally, this was the worst dining experience I had so far in Bern or Switzerland in general. Although I booked one week in advance, they ran out of the 5 course-menu (???) and they offered 3 courses instead. And they didn’t pay proper attention to the table- when we arrived in our reserved table we found a basket with only one slice of bread-yes, it was LEFTOVERS. I mean, c‘mon guys, you have a great view of the Aare and a beautiful terrace, but your service is unprofessional and you clearly have a problem in the kitchen. They ran out of fish for the menus main course „Surf n Turf“ and replaced with shrimp instead, without giving a heads-up. And no, the fish in the said course was not local or fresh - this would justify the limited availability. I would suggest to avoid this place because the whole experience was rather disappointing, although I really had high hopes in the beginning.

Although we reserved a table 1 week in advance, when we arrived they informed us that they had three out of five courses of the menu available, which in this type of restaurants is just unacceptable. In one of the main courses, they made an alteration without even asking (used shrimps instead of fish). When we arrived the table was ready, but they forgot to replace the bread , so we were served bread leftovers (1 slice for 2 people). 3 stars only for the location, which is admittedly one of the most beautiful in Bern.

We went for lunch at noon, I expect more, they changed owners and it shows in everything, slow and clueless service. The food was fine "simple". The terrace next to the river is the best thing about the restaurant.

I didnt eat nor drink here, just found an empty table and chair on the open area, which was empty, and I sat down to work and read. The staff saw,me and we're really kind to allow me to stay there. The way they spoke to me made me feel very interested in going amd checking positivity makes a nice experience and bring costumers :). Soon I'll post a food review here.

The food was good, but the service really left a lot to be desired. A course we ordered was simply forgotten, it took a really long time before we even received the menu cards and there was an extremely long wait between courses. A pity.

We stayed at the Landhaus hotel and due to the traffic jam we arrived a lot later. Since it was already 9pm, we had to quickly find a restaurant. Without thinking about it and since there was no map at the front, we asked if there was still a spot. We received a very friendly welcome even though we had our training on. It is super tasty to eat and also very pleasant to stay. It's pricey but worth it.

Definitely the biggest scam in all of Bern. We let ourselves be carried away by the impulse when we saw its beautiful terrace next to the river, and we fell into the trap. After being charged 26 Swiss francs for three stale prawns (three, yes, counted), we thought things couldn't get any worse, until the second course arrived: 52 francs for two strips of stewed meat with a little mashed potato. Ridiculously small plates for exorbitant prices. Clearly a treat for clueless tourists. Better to go to MacDonalds, at least they won't fool you there. I very much doubt that the positive comments on this site are real, especially if they come from Spaniards, who know how to eat in our country.

I am Argentina and Casa Novo is an incredible place, excellent service, offers a varied menu to enjoy different food and a good wine list. Ideal to enjoy in couples or with friends like I have done. When I return to Switzerland I will go again, I loved everything. They even took my husband's jacket and when we left they were waiting for him with the jacket near the door, a small detail that dazzled us.

Surf and turf came with literally one small shrimp (looked more like half of one) as the only seafood component. Menu changes constantly so your mileage may vary, but it was sort of boring when I went. Wonderful wine selection but the markup even compared to their wine shop is almost comical.

Fabulous food, I had the menu and was "surprised" with the creative dishes 3 out of 5 dishes, (all dishes were excellent and well executed). Thats more creativity than in any gastronomic restaurant I visited in the past 5 years, including some top tables of Switzerland. Good going, you're my go to place in Bern now. And the scenery when you eat outside is fantastic in the old town near the Aare.

Wir hatten spontan etwas zu feiern und relativ kurzfristig reserviert, haben einen wunderbaren Tisch in der Vinothek mit Blick auf die Aare bekommen. Sehr sympathische und aufmerksame Bedienung. Wir wählten das 4-Gänger Menü, bestehend aus herbstlichen Köstlichkeiten. Besonders gefallen hat uns die Hokkaido-Kürbiscreme mit Waldpilztatar und Kaviar - von letzterem merkte man zwar nicht viel, dafür sind mir die karamellisierten(?) Kürbiskerne und der Trüffelschnee in nachhaltiger Erinnerung - eine geniale Komposition! Auch das Blutwursttapa schmeckte mir als Nicht-Blutwurst-Fan ausgezeichnet. Hauptgang für mich ein bisschen zu mais-lastig aber auch sehr lecker. Für uns ein von A wie Amuse-bouche bis Z wie Ziegenkäse ein sehr gelungener kulinarischer Abend, für den wir uns herzlich bedanken.
