Switzerland in general had always lssues with service being not the most friendly but this one with its arrogance is probably one of the upper ones in the list. The food is good though. I used to enjoy the restaurant a lot more but it is slidi g downwards in my list.

Chef can't cook!!! My husband ordered polenta with truffles gratinated with alpine cheese, I ordered capuns. Everything was served way too early. The polenta was a disaster! Plate was served way too cold. Alpine cheese not available. Poison green sauce!! You could see with the naked eye that the whole thing would be nothing!! Capuns; They were actually quite good, but the sauce was far too thin and didn't taste good at all! Also served way too cold! After our complaint we were served a new portion of polenta. With different sauce, more cheese and hot plates. It tasted much better! Why not like that?

We ate at Chess Veglia three times and experienced both restaurants. Service, quality, reservation system - everything was extremely pleasant and convincing!

we made a reservation for the pizzeria 3 weeks in advance, when we arrived they did not have us on their printed out list. we asked them to please help us figure out what happened, we even showed them the call history on our phone when we called to reserve. the woman who was seemingly the manager acknowledged that she was probably the one we spoke to, but also pointed out the call history was not proof we had a reservation. though correct, very frustrating to hear her say that. no apology, no backup option, just constant insistence that the pizzeria was full. to lose the reservation was frustrating enough, to treat us like it must have been our fault was just bizarre. perhaps they had a large tour group they wanted to accommodate instead, perhaps they favor reservations from Badrutt’s Palace guests, perhaps it was simply a 1 in a 1000 mistake, but it at least threw our night off. So if you are going to go, just call ahead to confirm your reservation. and if you end up in our situation, try Krone up the road, much better experience.

The meal was brilliant and as we politely said no to desert, they kindly brought us a small plate of Cookies, tiny Amaretto biscuits and various small chocolates which I imagine are made right there in town by the famous chocolatier. The dinner was well worth it as this was simply a delicious dinner with amazing service by the waiters.

We loved our two entrees. I ordered a mixture of Veal and chicken which was ground together and lightly sauteed in a delicate sauce with some Taglioni pasta (tasted homemade)and Spring peas. My son ordered a bowl of pasta with lobster in a light tomato lobster sauce. I asked if they would bring me a mixed green salad and they quickly made one for me.

The best truffle pizza i ever had. Chateaubriand also not bad. Beautiful view. Very convenient from Badrutt palace to restaurant.

What a fantastic little restaurant. The waiters were so helpful and accommodating. When we arrived the restaurant wasn’t open but it was no problem and the staff let us in for a drink. We ordered food for our daughter which came out in no time at all. The food we had was incredible and you simply couldn’t fault it.
