Being a native Texan and growing up with the best BBQ, I am ecstatic to find this jewel of a restaurant in my beloved city of Winterthur, Switzerland. The BBQ is best to none in Switzerland and the owner, Tim, and his staff are most accommodating. My new favorite place to eat. I ♥️ Cross BBQ.

A great place for a delicious lunch that you don't have to wait long for. The flambéed penns are delicate. The salad wasn't the usual monotony. It's quiet and you can have a good conversation. The furnishings are super cozy and dignified. A great place without the usual hustle and bustle. Highly recommended!

was there a few weeks ago. Very nice restaurant, but the service was a bit chaotic. My drink was taken away before I was finished. The waiter then said he would bring me a new one and I got Sprite. The wrong side dish was brought to my companion. The food was really delicious, except my spare ribs were so dry and burnt that you almost couldn't eat them. The dessert was amazing! I can highly recommend the tiramisu! Maybe we were just unlucky that day.

As an American I am very impressed with the BBQ here. The smoked brisket is excellent and the BBQ sauce reminds me of Kansas City style BBQ sauce. Whenever I need a taste of home, I go here. Cross BBQ has the most authentic BBQ in Switzerland. It is worth the trip if you don’t live close by. Tim and Kim are the owners and they are both down to earth and super friendly. They go above and beyond to make their customers feel welcomed. On sunny days the outdoor seating is nice. It is a family friendly place. For quicker meals one side of the restaurant offers take-away. The portions are very generous at both lunch and dinner times. Make sure to come hungry! Thanks very much to the Cross BBQ team for a wonderful dining experience!

It was my first time eating at Cross BBQ with business friends. I came across this very good and hospitable restaurant while walking past. The first impression came true. We were greeted by the very friendly staff and served very attentively throughout the evening. The food tasted very tasty. And it looks as good as the pictures on the internet. Pulled and all the meat from the smoker was just great. The brisket was spot on perfect. All you can say is Chapeau, for the whole concept and above all for your perfect hospitality. Delightful little restaurant specializing in smoked meat and BBQ. Quality of the meat is 1A. Braised in the smoker until it falls off the bone. Fresh salad, crispy fries and a simple but excellent wine list. We were served by an extremely capable young woman with roots in Kosovo. She sets the standard for service and friendliness and successfully rounds off this evening with her warm manner. 5 stars 5 hearts

Unfortunately the food was very salty and we had to pay 4.- for Hanenwasser. But the quality of the meat was great and we were served by the extremely professional and lovely Julia - service was first class!

This is once again a restaurateur with a heart. It was our first time visiting and we can only report positive things. The service was extremely friendly and competent. The boss/chef himself came to the table and exchanged a few words with us. Since the french fries machine was broken, he didn't hesitate, delivered a replacement and added a bottle of wine. They prepare the dishes with a lot of heart and passion. You really feel welcome at Cross BBQ and are happy to go back! Keep it up Cross BBQ Team, encountering a craft like yours is simply enriching. Great restaurant with delicious grill menus. We were here twice. A reservation is recommended. The food is delicious. Ordered brisket and ribs both times. The tiramisu with mango was also very special and tasted good. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is very cozy. Would love to come back here.

This is my third time coming here because the food tastes sooooo good and the meat is of the highest quality. The owner and the staff are very hospitable. Every time When I stopped by, there were "extras" from the owner. If you come here, be sure to try the brisket and smoked chicken! It has a large selection of different wines on the “wine wall” - the Sauvignon Blanc goes great with the dishes. During the day, there is a take-away outside the restaurant with great ciabattas and burgers!

I landed in Switzerland today and decided to stop at Cross BBQ. The food was like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. Presentation, service, taste…. all of it. I recommend to get all in one platter for the juiciest flavored meat you’ve ever tasted.

Brisket had no smoky taste, ribs were bone dry, pulled beef and pulled pork too, sausage could hardly be skewered with a fork, it was so rubbery. Price/performance is absolutely not right! The service employee was overwhelmed by the criticism. The only really good thing was the vegetables and they were in a BBQ shop. Big disappointment.

Very fine food, but the staff leaves something to be desired. A huge chaos, drinks were not brought or were brought incorrectly and the wrong things were brought when eating or not at all. Definitely room for improvement.

Absolutely brilliant restaurant with an incredibly personable and friendly boss. Among other things, we had the all in one platter, an absolute dream - the best Texas BBQ east of the Rio Grande! One of our companions couldn't decide and Tim, the owner, quickly stepped into the kitchen and created a special pasta especially for her! This was also absolutely top class, we have never experienced anything like it. After we were finished and paid, Tim chatted with us briefly and this small talk turned into a two-hour conversation filled with rum and beer, about God and the world, Kosovo, American work colleagues and a thousand other topics. Rarely have I experienced such an unexpectedly great evening. Thank you Tim, Winterthur can no longer be imagined without you. The rip eye was fantastic, cooked to perfection, great meat quality. The quacamole was also super better than some Mexican restaurants. And the owner is really a great host you felt. Very welcome from the start, so you can overlook one or two little things that weren't 100% perfect. Will definitely come back and try the brisket.

It's just sad to talk to the employees like that and at such a loud volume. I'll never eat there again, last time I had a huge stomach ache after the soggy burger anyway. Has nothing to do with Cross BBQ!!

A friend and I were sitting in front of the shop and wanted to treat ourselves to a burger. Unfortunately, we and other customers noticed that the boss there spoke loudly and in a very inappropriate tone to his employees. One of them even cried! This is not an exemplary and appealing restaurant where I would like to eat!! Bloody hell…! We prefer to go to McDonald's... it was delicious and the staff was a lot nicer☺️

I have been looking long for some great American Smoked BBQ and Tim knows what he is doing. If in Winterthur a must visit!

It tasted good, no question, the meat was very tender and deliciously seasoned. Food came quickly. What is absolutely missing is the smoky taste that comes with a BBQ. The suspicion is very obvious that the meat has never actually seen a smoker with wood. .My experience so far has been Unfortunately, in a BBQ restaurant where there is no smell of smoke from the smoker, there is no real BBQ in it. The BBQ sauce was very weak for my taste, no spice and it is really very easy to make very tasty sauces that cost practically nothing. There are 1001 original sauce recipes from the USA on the Internet. As an idea, in the USA BBQ is always weighed, fair for both sides and the guest can put together whatever meat they want. The flexibility of the menu could also be worked on. It's a shame that it's not possible to change individual positions in a court. Incomprehensible to me these days in the catering industry.

I was there for the first time last week and took the "Prime" menu (lunch), which was spare ribs. What can I say, fantastic and really smoker-like, wonderful. I thought this couldn't be topped, until the manager came over and spontaneously brought over a piece of brisket, so he won me over, so much hospitality and great food, from a real smoker. Top, top, top!!!

Service was a bit long at start Spare ribs where quite big (even the half rack), super well coocked, but the bbq sauce was more like tomato and not really smoked. Overall good meal but not the best spare ribs experience

What a pleasant surprise! We arrived late to the city and made a last minute reservation to Kreuz/ Ross BBQ. Dogs allowed on their outside area, and perfect location close to the railway station and city centre. Food... The food was brilliant, grilled to perfection. Haven't had BBQ this good since Texas. Owner and staff were very service minded and informed us about the history of the place and came with perfect recommendations. We had ribs and pulled beef with Züri fries, mouthwatering good! I honestly can not find any negative sides to this place. They also have a boutique hotel on site, had we known the we would have tried that out too. Highly recommend!

The service wasn't great due to the summer holidays and the lack of staff, but the food was excellent and the chef really understands and loves his craft.
