A very popular ice cream restaurant. All homemade ice cream flavors. Lots of different creations that make it very difficult to decide which one you want to try. A real feast for the palate.

My favorite flavor and what I recommend is chocolate with chilli.

Everything is correct, except... First the good: - nice personel - nice shop - tradition - tastes Unfortunately there is a small vegan selection. Which is great in itself, but ice cream is “greasy”. If all vegan varieties consist of fruit, they are more likely to be sorbets. Therefore, it is best to veganize coconut. Or always offer a nutty alternative. The fat makes it taste better and the consistency is also more pleasant. Tip: Sacred vegelateria in ZH.

Good ice cream without being exceptional, lots of choice possible

I was told that this was the Schaffhausen version of the "Gelateria di Berna". I compared them and this is my conclusion: El Bertin not only keeps up, but wins! 🤗

Great ice cream like an Italian.

Fantastic ice cream! Unfortunately, the hazelnut ice cream recipe has been changed in a negative way for me personally (the hazelnut pulp is coarser than before and the ice cream has a slight vanilla note?), so I now prefer to use other flavors such as vanilla, mango or peanut. Peanut has been changed for the better; it tastes more harmonious than before, as less peanut cream is probably used.

Very good 🍦 ice cream. I had an amazing spaghetti clace. We were also able to try a yoghurt clace and lime with basil clace. Wow very good. Keep it up and greetings from Hofstetten..

There is a very large selection of different flavors here and the one I tried (peanut caramel) was absolutely delicious. There were also a few other exotic varieties that I would have liked to try. So I'll definitely come by again ;)

Top ice cream, really handmade, Favorite variety: Pistachio, has a wonderfully light roasted taste and mini pieces in it, bueno, chocolate is also good, I would like it to be a bit more creamy, but it's a matter of taste and you probably need carob gum or something similar to achieve that

Service was refused even though there was a certificate for exemption from the mask requirement for medical reasons. This is deeply discriminatory and hurtful! Have we really reached a two-class society? Are people no longer allowed to participate in public life with a mask dispensation? I am extremely disappointed. This shouldn't happen. That's why I can't give a single star, although unfortunately I have to give at least one. A shop like this with such an attitude towards its customers should not exist and should be avoided!

Wonderful ice cream shop - the discovery of the weekend. Absolute recommendation. The shop is easy to find: there is a regular queue in front of the building and if so many people queue for minutes for an ice cream, then there is a reason. Also: Large selection and there are always new varieties, be it Mayberry (I had to google it) or something unusual like avocado-cucumber. Full recommendation.

Delicious ice-cream shop. I have heard that this one is the original one around the area.

I go there very often in the summer and am never disappointed. Unfortunately, due to the high demand, there is always a queue in front of the shop, but that simply speaks for the good quality and great taste. I love the ice cream here 😍

The best ice cream in Schaffhausen and the surrounding area is available at El Bertin. Every connoisseur knows that. Since this year, however, with a “BUT”! Prices rise every year as portions become more and more grizzly. At CHF 2.80 per ball, I have definitely reached the pain threshold and I will be a long-term regular customer who will now be found there less often. There might be one or two people who feel the same way as me. I think it's a shame but in the end there is always profit and here El Bertin joins the big, monotonous crowd.. Unfortunately...

Great ice cream. Great variety of varieties. I especially love black chocolate with chili.

The service is friendly, the decor and signs have a nice retro style. Cheap prices, 1 scoop for 2.50 and a huge selection. Unfortunately the ice cream doesn't taste like water and is somehow bland. That was the case with all 4. Hence the bad rating. I'd rather pay more money and get better quality in return.

This gelateria is one of the best I know and is definitely a must on every visit to Schaffhausen. It has a huge selection of varieties and new ones are always being added depending on the season. In summer there is often a long queue, but it's definitely worth queuing for a few minutes and then taking a walk along the Rhine with your ice cream.

The best ice cream in Schaffhausen! You can really tell from the ice cream that it is homemade ice cream. The balls can even be split into two types and the staff is very accommodating and helpful with the selection.
