Very good food and friendly service

Very tasty hot stone! The restaurant in and of itself is nothing special, but the hot stone is something to kneel down on 🤤 Both the beef and horse are super tender and delicious. You get three sauces and a side dish (fries, croquettes, salad,...). The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. The clothes can go straight into the laundry after your stay 😅 The prices are very fair: 200g of beef on the stone with salad, a beer, dessert and tea cost 45.-.

The meat was fine and very tender. The staff was friendly, but generally we felt rushed from the start until we got paid at the end. While all 11 of us were eating the salad, the rechauds with the hot oil pans were brought out. The price of CHF 20 for an additional pan is totally exaggerated (we didn't take one). The price increase per person from last year to this year is also completely unjustified. The restaurant has always looked unchanged and old-fashioned. All in all we were pretty disappointed. We come every year with 11 to 13 people, but it has never been as uncomfortable and rushed as yesterday. It's a shame, because dinner should have been more comfortable and in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Mecca for meat lovers. Good luck and cheap. Anyone who goes home hungry has only themselves to blame. Reservations are an advantage, it is usually full.

As always, the meat is only good. You can determine the cooking level yourself using the Heissenstein, making the meal a new experience.

This review is for lunch. In my experience, the food is much better in the evening. Now to the food: fries well fried and with fresh oil. The salad is put together a bit carelessly and the sauce cannot be chosen. Now to the low point, the horse steak. Chewy, dry, and a weird shape (I think it's just using up leftovers). I've only been there twice for lunch so far, but both times I didn't like the meat. As already written, it is much better in the evening (e.g. the hot stone). But what I always love is the herb butter, it's great and I always buy it in the attached butcher shop.

I have rarely eaten such good horse meat. Had a generous mixed salad as a starter. The Fondue Bourguignonne was very exquisite with great sauces.

The best horse meat I've ever eaten...

If you love good meat, you've come to the right place! The fillets from the hot stone are super tender and everyone can enjoy them the way they like. The side dishes are also delicious and the vegetables are delicately seasoned. Only the sauces for the meat are so 'well'. The restaurant is a typical 'village pub', so simple and practical.

Well enjoyed stone-grilled 500g horse fillet steak, extremely tender and tasty. Lemon sorbet with vodka as a dessert makes me so refreshing! If you choose 500g, you will be praised from friends, but it would be even much praised if you choose croquettes instead of salad for garnishing.

This evening we had dinner at the Frohsinn restaurant. You should reserve well in advance as there are usually a lot of people. You get to wear a bib while you eat, which was a fun experience. The food was delicious and the meat on the hot stone was perfect.

This inn has been around for many years and absolutely deserves the term “insider tip for excellent gastronomy”. It is therefore worth reserving a table early.

The stone here is very good. The foal with morel sauce was stringy and at this price I expect people to ask me how cooked my meat should be and not for it to just be served almost raw. The service wasn't particularly great either. When they brought me the wrong salad, I had to ask twice so that I could get the one I ordered (with a ready-made sauce) and the ice cream had ice crystals and we had to get the separate chocolate sauce that I ordered a second time Ask, for this price a disappointment

Extremely good food from start to finish, butter-like horse meat and the price is very good too. Very friendly staff, attentive even when crowded. The meat was perfect, seasoning and stone too, and the little sauces paired very well :) I also recommend their cider. The dessert even if simple was the best way to finish this. Would recommend to go if you are around.

We have been eating here regularly or shopping at the butcher shop for over 20 years. The waitresses are always very friendly and quick. They have to, because the kitchen produces the best quality at an incredible speed. My favorites are the pepper steak, the foal fillet and the horse schnitzel. However, most people prefer the horse fillet in the hot stone. Anyone who has been there once will always go back. That probably says it all. I'm already looking forward to the next visit after the summer holidays. Luckily, before the holidays, the freezer was filled again and a horse steak with pepper sauce was eaten straight away. hammer

I haven't eaten at Frohsinn in a very long time and I was very happy to visit. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The fries were very crispy and the horse steak was very, very dead. It's a shame about the good piece.

One of the greatest places for a good horse on hot stone, also lunch breaks are great here.

Food very good and really very good price/performance ratio

Beef fillet and horse fillet were both great, I couldn't say which was better and I don't normally eat horse meat. The landlord has also invested in a professional coffee machine, so a great espresso rounds off the meal.

All great, the only thing is that there is only one stone on the plate, so there is a risk that the meat will already be done towards the end. Two would be ideal.

You can eat very well, the meat is really excellent and of good quality. Excellent service and attentive and kind staff. Highly recommended.

Here you can get the best hot stone. The quality of the meat is perfect. We have already been to 7 different restaurants that also have Heissen Stein. No one was as happy as this one. We'd love to come back.

Great food! Quality of the food is exceptional! The service is not always quick in the fully booked restaurant. The ambience also suffers somewhat due to the high occupancy of the restaurant. Really recommended!

The fondue Bourgignonne was great

Yesterday I went to the Frohsinn horse restaurant with my wife to enjoy the fillet (gentleman cut for both) on the hot stone. Everything was perfect; Buttery tender horse fillet with crispy fries and the three delicious sauces, garlic, curry and cocktail. In addition, the very nice service, who also brought us a second garlic sauce. For all my relatives and acquaintances, the Frohsinn is a “highlight”. Nevertheless, the old laundry should be taken out of the washing basket again and dressed for the visit. But later, when you sniff it, you will be reminded of the sensational enjoyment.

The food was very good. Unfortunately there were only 2 in service for so many guests and the orders therefore took a long time.

Top horse meat! The fillet on the hot stone is an absolute highlight. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the super good quality of meat. It is best to leave the jacket in the car. It's sizzling everywhere in the restaurant - a cool atmosphere - and the smell of grease gets into your clothes. Parking spaces are directly in front of the building. We'd love to come back😀

Spent a very nice evening here. The horse fillet from the hot stone is awesome. Juicy and tender, that's how it should be. Plus delicious sauces and fries. The staff is friendly and seemed well-coordinated. It's better to leave the jacket outside in the car because of the smell :)

Very interesting prices. More unique than rare case in Switzerland: fondue chinoise and horse bourguignon with the all-you-can-eat formula. Friendly staff, even when very busy. Good beer. The only flaw... when you leave it seems like you've been fried too! Leave jackets and overcoats in the car. :-)

A very good restaurant! We were there on March 24th, 2022 with a group of people. You have to make a reservation otherwise you may not get a seat, but it's definitely worth it! There is a very good selection of meat and portion sizes. The stone on which the selected piece of meat comes is always hot until the end and does not need to be replaced in between, which makes eating even more of a pleasure. I would love to come here again.
