Very cozy place. It was nice to spend a brunch time there on the weekend.

Inconspicuous from the outside ... a mixture of office, family coffee shop, neighbourhood meeting place and hipster hangout on the inside. Excellent coffee products (specialty coffee) are almost a matter of course when you know that the Kaffee Macher:Innen from Basel stand behind them. Everything is completely relaxed but at a high level. A good selection of baked goods.

I really like this place. They serve very good filter coffee, they have a variety of vegan snacks and some lunch or breakfast options as well. It gets rather busy, but the public is amazing as well. You can come work or study here if you don't mind the noise.

They don't know how to make a long black. Disappointing 😞

Very busy and large cafe with lots of good seating in various formats. Great for later Sundays for a coffee and the excellent lemon drizzle cake. Nice Bohemian type crowd and good music. No8 tram stop just down the road.

Zurich conditions… except there is no matcha here. The staff isn't very friendly, prices are rather high (Capucchino 1dl like a flat-white), it's very loud and crowded, with busybody hipsters sitting around everywhere. Breads are thinly topped. Accessibility with a wheelchair is poor. There used to be a popular coffee with me and I know that this rating doesn't change anything because the owner (still) has enough customers...

Overrated. You walk in and are not greeted by the staff. There is also no matcha or soy milk here. The atmosphere is okay, but very loud and crowded. Pita bread is delicious, but there's nothing else worth mentioning. In the higher price segment. Very unfortunate…

In my opinion, you can get the best coffee in the city here. It’s also a really comfortable place to hang out. Always happy again - especially in spring ;)

I tried the Schale coffee, which is a long milky coffee, it was too milky for my taste. One of the two places on the European Coffee Trip in Basel. They also sell various coffee origins and they have a dedicated shop next door to the coffee place.

I usually hold off on reviewing a place based on a single dish, yet Frühling compels me to break that rule. Their chai syrup, seamlessly blended with oat milk, created a symphony of flavors in a single cup. The balance achieved between sweet and savory, with the temperature spot-on, elevated a simple brew into an exceptional experience. It wasn't just a drink; it was a flavor journey, enhancing the chai's essence with each sip. The ambiance of Frühling added to this delight. There was an authentic vibrancy, a mix of eclectic charm and a clientele that brought a refreshing alternative vibe. This wasn't just another café visit; it was a memorable encounter with taste and community.

Really great place. Everything offered on the breakfast menu is excellent. The quality of the products used is excellent, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. I particularly appreciate the water dispenser, where glasses and carafes can be filled self-service. Always worth a visit. Update 2023: Self-service used to work well. Since the coffee is now very popular, you have to wait in line for a long time. This is particularly annoying when you have breakfast and want to order a second coffee, for example. Then you sometimes have to queue for 20 minutes and the companion waits alone at the table.

The mainstream hip place to hang out, work or have business meetings. The go-to location in Kleinbasel. Prices are mid-high and coffee ok. Atmosphere is lacking and the staff is not the friendliest. Unless you've ran out of options I'd avoid it.

Great coffee with regularly changing beans and appropriate advice

Hearty cafe. Coffee, homemade iced tea and Shakshuka were very nice. Unfortunately, my chai latte was heavily watered down and therefore not particularly aromatic.

Like in a side street in Paris, you can sit here and watch the goings-on in the neighborhood. Cold brew coffee was super intense and very tasty, I recommend poppy seed cake with it, it was really very good and very juicy! All in all a super cute café, I'd love to come back!

I always enjoy coming to spring when I'm in Basel. The coffee, which is roasted by the coffee makers themselves, is fantastic. Cozy interior and a pleasant atmosphere invite you to linger.

A real gem of a café. Super delicious breakfast. Absolutely relaxed atmosphere. Totally well-rehearsed and perfectly organized team. Even at peak times, the girls behind the counter don't feel the slightest bit of stress. On the terrace you can enjoy the sun and fresh air in summer. And of course the coffee comes from the coffee makers in Basel and is therefore super fresh and absolutely delicious.

Ruanda filtered coffee was amazing. And the rhubarb tart was also delicious

The food was amazing, especially the rich and flavorful shakshuka, and the ambiance was great. The only minor issue was that the espresso (served in Americano cups?) was extra acidic. However, the friendly baristas more than made up for it!

Wow! Young and hip spot with a seriously good menu. Both food and coffee drinks. Super trendy space inside and out. Shakshuka was a revelation, especially with their tasty bread to dip in it. Seems to be in an up and coming / gentrifying neighborhood and worth the trek from the old town or nearby tram/trolly stops.

Speciality coffee roasts well-poured, but barista skills lacking, esp. on the milk frothing department. A little disappointing considering the reputation of Kaffee Macher. Pastries are okay, but nothing to write home about. Friendly service though and a nice large terrace.

Perfect, bustling local coffee shop, serving up quality beverages and a delicious pita with hummus and red beet! Worth a stop for a good caffeine fix and some great vibes.

Nice people and friendly atmosphere

We always come back and enjoy spring. In addition to sweets, we had a bowl and a cappuccino, the latter tasted horrible and undrinkable, the milk sour. When asked about it by the staff, they replied: this was intentional, the light roast. We should use a different roast next time. No accommodation. It's a shame, it really put us off.

possibly the best coffee in Basel. I am not giving it 5 stars because last time I went there the place was a bit dirty.

Overpriced and bad quality food :/

I can't judge food. Nevertheless, I got a fabulous coffee.

We had waited for 45 minutes for order, then we asked about it, and turned out staff managed to “lost” our order. So we get our breakfast after another 5 min. But the food was good, I would say they know how to make proper scrambled eggs, and “breakfast for two” not enough for two hungry person :)

Cafe in a quiet street, with a pleasant atmosphere to sit and drink a coffee. The service is attentive and friendly and they have a typical sweet (a braid of cinnamon and nuts) that is delicious! Highly recommended.

Saw a lot of good reviews and was told that the coffee is best in Basel, but unfortunately was disappointed. Both Cappuccino and flat white were not enjoyable at all. Such a shame as the surroundings are very cozy.

The café is pleasantly located and offers a relaxed, cozy and homely atmosphere. There are various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as vegan options. In terms of price, the café is in the mid to high segment. Deduction for cleanliness, the floor and furniture sometimes look a little dirty.

We went there for breakfast today - it was great. The service was very attentive and courteous. The coffee is really good and the kitchen is a dream. The hummus is the best I've ever eaten and the bread is super delicious. You have to try the sourdough pancakes 🥞 - a poem - beautifully garnished - a perfect overall picture. I'm already looking forward to the next indulgent breakfast!

Great location, delicious coffee, great breakfast and nice service. What more could you want 😍 We had the Viva la Pita twice with hummus, eggplant antipasti and ajvar. Really filling and perfect to start the day. We also had apple cider, a flat white and a cappuccino. As a coffee fan, I was really excited. If you want to take a short walk afterwards, you can be directly on the Rhine in just 2 minutes. Absolutely recommended!

A very pleasant coffee that invites you to linger. The service is very friendly and helpful. Both the Shakshuka and the coffee tasted excellent. Free water and a selection of newspapers are also available. We have felt very comfortable here. ☕

Specialty coffee and home made food. I love it for breakfast or brunch when you can enjoy the sun outside. You have the possibility to buy the coffee beans and other local products. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cosy.

The coffee was not hot and the breakfast wasn't pleasing.

We asked what types of beans could go with our flatties, and the barista said that there were two types and if we would not like it, she could re-make with the beans we liked. We went to try both, however one was at least bearable, while the other one tasted very bad and we could not drink it. We asked to re-make it, and yes, it was remade, however in the end we were charged for three cups. All in all, the coffee tasted overroasted and the foam was too bubbly (far from microfoam you would expect in a flat white). The barista did not care if we enjoyed or not, and the attitude was far from welcoming (quite a disappointment given all the great reviews we have read). Two stars go for the location and the interior, but does it really matter when you are not welcome and the coffee tastes far from the specialty coffee standard? (I guess the beans were good but either overroasted or not prepared properly...).

After standing in line for 15 minutes, the barista had no time to explain what coffee was served. She pointed to the menu, and asked me if I can’t read. The filtercoffee was tasteless, just like the working audience.
