Gasthaus Ochsen in Luzern

For the first time since the new tenant arrived at the Ochsen. The food was very well cooked, very tasty. The selection of dishes was good and varied. The service was very friendly and competent. The service specialist can deal very well with a wide range of guests. The boss is a friendly, likeable woman. We felt very comfortable. We would be happy to come back.

After a long time we went back to the Ochsen. After the reopening, the food was very good and came quickly. What I complain about is the staffing in the service. There was a birthday party in the hall with over 40 people and the restaurant was also very well occupied. 2 service staff for all guests. They tried very hard to serve the guests appropriately, but that wasn't possible without the quality suffering. The managing director was not present that Saturday evening.

We were served very friendly and courteously. The meat is fried exactly to the doneness. The Chateaubriand was simply a poem. The price-performance ratio was completely right. Keep it up.

Poor service prevents a better rating. It's not a big deal that the bottled red wine isn't poured into the carafe at the table (although it worked for the white wine). But when the red wine is poured into the white wine glass, the menu is not served as ordered and a desert menu is only served after repeated requests, I can't give a better rating.

I was thrilled with my visit to the Ochsen. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes, of which I would particularly recommend the Beef Fillet Cube Stragnow - it was deliciously prepared and had the perfect amount of flavor.
