Gasthaus Sonne in Klosters-Serneus

We had an absolutely fabulous evening with a group of 9 at this charming restaurant. The food was of exceptional quality, the service was both friendly and prompt, and the exquisite selection of wines complemented the rustic ambiance perfectly. Everything came together in such a harmonious way. I wholeheartedly recommend giving this place a try if you're ever in Klosters or the vicinity - it's a must-visit!

We visited Sonne Restaurant for the first time last week (our friend, who lives in Klosters, suggested it — we were delighted that she did). It was so good that we went again on Saturday. The food was all, without exception, really first-rate, the Leberwurstbrot in particular was completely delicious. And the service and atmosphere could not have been more friendly and welcoming. There seemed to be quite a few local people eating there, too, which is always a good sign. Can’t wait to go back!

Perfect food, perfect service, perfect atmosphere. I could eat there every night.

Went to this restaurant for the first time, liked it so much, returned three days later ! Very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Lovely Swiss home cooking. Will be back when we are next in Klosters.

What we were able to experience again last night is simply unique. Full house, every chair occupied and the service extremely friendly, quick, competent and simply a pleasure. All dishes are again of the finest quality, beautifully prepared. Despite her “disability”, Anja was deployed as if nothing had happened, and from the bottom of her heart, get well soon.

No matter whether you go with friends, family, as a couple or alone. You are always warmly welcomed and you can feel it. Everything is just right, the staff is super friendly, the food tastes very good, the atmosphere is cozy, you just feel good. This is the restaurant to go to when you are in the area. I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Coziness is very important in the sun. A place to linger and eat well. 👍👍👍 We'll definitely be back.

We went to the Sonne (Sonnenstube) restaurant for dinner during the sports holidays in February 2024 and can recommend the restaurant without reservation. Very friendly and warm service and excellent food. If we are in the Klosters area again, we will be happy to visit the restaurant again.

Went here twice for dinner this week. Once “up” and once “down”. We ate very well both times, we like it better “upstairs”, but the quality, service and friendliness of the staff were excellent. Simply everything is very good and somehow everything is uncomplicated. Thank you.

We recommend. Good cuisine, main course portions not too big, but just right so that you can enjoy it. Tiramisu and homemade ice cream impressed everyone as dessert. We always like to come back!

Amazing food, service and ambiance

The welcome was warm and nice, the table was beautifully decorated and in general it was beautifully decorated. The meal, beef fillet stroganoff with mashed potatoes, was very good. I would order it again immediately. The others were all more than happy with their food. This was my third time in the sun and it won't be the last.

It's that time again, I was on the road as a driver for the WEF, it's well known that the days can sometimes be long. I know the owners and know that their days can and are long during this time...very long, but I also took the time to visit in the sun. I'm telling you, the sun rose again at midnight when I ordered hungry, when I received what I ordered I was happy and my stomach also had fireworks. It's unbelievable what Jörg creates in the kitchen at this time, well understood at 10 p.m. there is a light dinner cart, which doesn't bother me at all, because normally the kitchen would be closed at some point...but not at this time of year😄. I would like to thank you and your wife Anja and your team for taking the time to prepare a perfect dinner, even in this long and hectic time. Very nice, intimate and well-kept restaurant! Anja and her colleagues immediately put us at ease and accompanied us throughout the evening with their kindness and friendliness. We opted for foie gras, which is not always present on the menu, and we were happy, perhaps even more convinced if the portion was a little more generous! Then we continued with pork steak and beef fillet, served with herb butter sauce and rösti. Everything perfect, nothing to say! We concluded with a Crèmeschnitte which was also excellent! We congratulate Anja and Jörg on everything and thank them for a great evening!

The Stübli is very quaint, perfect for a cosy dinner in Klosters. The food was fantastic and the service was incredibly friendly. Nancy made us feel so welcome with our two little kids - thank you! We will definitely be back.

Absolutely recommended! Such great service, the staff are very kind, attentive and great hosts. When the food was still so delicious, we were thrilled and happy that we chose this place for dinner. We had a zander fillet and steak and both were fantastically combined and coordinated with all the side dishes. This makes eating fun. Big compliments to everyone and hopefully see you again soon

Discovered and very positively surprised, top products prepared with love, a beautifully selected wine list, the service was very friendly despite being fully booked there was no rush. An early reservation is recommended otherwise you will miss something.

I was having dinner in the sun with my parents. The ambience is very cozy and beautifully bright, not overloaded and has a rural flair (upper floor). The restaurant was fully booked but the noise was pleasant. The service is very friendly and accommodating and remains relaxed even when the house is full. To start I had a beef tartare with pickles and mustard seeds and other harmonious spices. The tartare was briefly fried on one side. Simply outstanding! The main course was braised pork cheeks with mashed potatoes and vegetables. You didn't need a knife for the cheeks because the cheeks were as tender as butter, the sauce was nice and strong, the vegetables were nice and crunchy and the mashed potatoes were like a light "cloud of butter". A perfect dish from A - Z. The crowning glory was the tiramisu, the alcohol (I assume Amaretto) wasn't too dominant, the mascarpone cream was nice and soft and the coffee taste was also pleasant. I can't remember the last time I was able to enjoy such good rustic and classic cuisine in Klosters. The map will be too "small" for some people but I think it's just right. We enjoyed a fine “game” dinner for four. Although the restaurant was practically full, it wasn't too loud. We appreciated that.

Highly recommended again and again for a fine meal

We immediately felt at home in this cozy restaurant Sonne, in the middle of the monastery, with extremely friendly service and excellent food. The authentic hosts Anja and Jürg more than convinced us that there is still lively gastronomy with charm and quality in Klosters. With a small but very fine and exquisite menu, every guest is sure to find their favorite menu. The price/performance ratio is top. Our Klosters recommendation, because the way to love is apparently through the stomach ;-). We will be back.

It was crazy how delicious and nice it was here. Tartar Special/Deluxe! Compliments to the chef and the landlady, absolute recommendation! Would give 6 stars. Homemade greaves with fresh, delicious bread were also included. Erdinger non-alcoholic (best) available - nice. Teller went back sparkling clean. Gladly again :)

There are at times places which remind you of home, of where you grew up. This is one of them - warm and friendly. There are a number of Swiss classics on the menu, most with a bit of a new twist. When is the last time you had cordon bleu, but could describe it as succulent? I won't betray how.... you'll just have to visit in person. Well done Anja and Jörg!

We dined twice at Sonne during our visit to Klosters. Both dinners were excellent! The service was great, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was really nice - for both our large group dinner and for our date night dinner. They have a very nice wine list and a really wide selection of delicious entrees. Making a reservation online was really easy, and the owners were very responsive and helped us secure a seating that allowed us to still catch the bus home before it stopped running for the night.
