Gasthaus Tell in Andermatt

Great restaurant, nice service and super fine food - different, creative and an enrichment in Andermatt!! 🤩👍

We were very happy to eat in this wonderful restaurant - run by a couple with some African influence. The menu is well thought & presented. Food & wine all excellent.

I wish I could give Sandro and his lovely accommodations ten stars! Our first trip to Andermatt with our two and four year old children. The three bedroom apartment was equipped with a full kitchen and my favorite - Nespresso machine. In the heart of town, it was easy to walk to all restaurants and the local grocery store. We could even walk to the Gondola and train station. Sandro took care of all the little details prior to our arrival such as reserved us over night parking nearby. He checked in with us in person and via email. He was a fantastic host and highly recommend his accommodations to anyone wanting to visit Andermatt. Beautiful town and culture. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent cuisine and special dishes that you can hardly get anywhere else. Service and location also very pleasant. Gladly again!

We decided to visit Andermatt in mid-November to escape the winter fog in Zurich. We discovered Restaurant Tell on our afternoon walk through the village. The hearty and interesting menu caught our attention - We made a dinner reservation, and were lucky because they had a cancellation, and we got the table for two which opened up. On arrival we were welcomed by the owner, Sandro, and we felt right at home. We ordered the soup of the day, pumpkin, and green salad to start and home-made tagliatelle bolognaise-ragout, and the ox-tail. To finish we shared the South African favourite "malva-pudding" which was the best I ever had (which as a South-African says a lot!). The chef, and wife of Sandro, came out after mains to say hello, and we had a great time hearing about the region, and also their exciting stories about how Restaurant Tell was started. Highly recommended!

The food is absolutely wonderful. It is a great combination of Swiss food with a delicious South African twist. Each dish was better than the previous one. We left absolutely stuffed and fully satisfied. This is a place not to be missed during your stay.
