In our opinion the buffet was not a real buffet. Very small selection and it didn't really look appetizing. It also smells unpleasant. We felt cramped in the restaurant itself. Tables were very close together. For a price of around CHF 70, we hoped for more. It's a shame - unfortunately we can't recommend this.

Today we were able to enjoy the fantastic Easter brunch at Falkenstein Castle. It was just amazing! The food was more than excellent, the buffet was constantly replenished and there was really nothing missing. There was something for everyone, from yogurt to beefsteak tartare. The food was fresh and the quality was high and very good. Everything was fully booked except for the last place, but the service was never overwhelmed. The whole team simply had everything under control from A to Z. Dear Falkenstein Castle team, thank you very much for the wonderful brunch that we were able to enjoy with you. You're great!

As soon as I made the reservation, I felt welcome as a guest. Just as we arrived and were escorted to our table. Both buffets were very tasty. I would have loved to bathe in certain dishes, they tasted so delicious. Fresh and beautifully prepared, a treat for all the senses. The service was very attentive. We felt very comfortable in the inn with our teenager. He also found that he would like to eat at Falkenstein again. We'll definitely be back soon. A compliment to the kitchen and a big thank you to the whole team

- The food was great and very tasty. - We had the 3-4 course menu for Valentine's Day. Unfortunately we sat in the restaurant for 3.5 hours. Which is definitely too long. - The atmosphere is certainly nice for some people. I personally don't like it. But it's more due to the colors than the furnishings.

Everything perfect! Great reception, greeted by the other service professionals. Despite the high standard and upscale, we felt very comfortable due to the staff. Not picked up. Everything was explained to us regarding the process at discretion. The service was all very attentive and not intrusive. The food was excellent, both value for money! We are all thrilled and I would like to mention it again, thanks to the service staff who gave us a lovely evening.

We can highly recommend this inn, we spent a wonderful evening there as a group. First we had an aperitif in the cozy wine cellar and then a fine dinner in the beautiful winter garden. It was a very pleasant visit to the restaurant. From the reception, the support and also the food on offer, everything was silent. The staff is very attentive, the rooms are comfortable and the food is very good. We were there for the gourmet buffet à discretion. Will definitely stop by again for a visit. The last Fondue Chinoise de Luxe in 2023 - at a brilliant New Year's Eve price 😉. It was worth every franc for that. Starter buffet, meat and side dishes, dessert buffet - everything wonderfully prepared and lovingly presented. And always appetizers that surprised even the most spoiled palate. The team around the host couple Würgler impressed with their attentiveness and warmth. We'd love to come back. Happy New Year everyone!

What a disappointment! Reserved in the large hall/restaurant, unfortunately our place was in the small Sääli! Service was a disaster. We were constantly disturbed by the staff while eating! Main course far too small for this price! The birthday child was at the dessert buffet when a Gugelhopf was put out for him, completely carelessly on a small plate! 3 years ago the plate was beautifully decorated! I specifically called and asked that the table be decorated with natal decorations, which I was assured of! Unfortunately, this was not adhered to either! A very, very disappointed visit and that for the 40th birthday, which will leave a very bitter aftertaste!

I simply feel at home in the Gasthaus zum Schloss Falkenstein and always spend top-class evenings. The unique ambience, the exceptional furnishings with great attention to detail, but above all the exceptional hospitality of the team, as well as wonderful home-style cuisine with always seasonal highlights and a great buffet. You don't find this combination often! As a cooperation partner, I also enjoy working with the owners, always at eye level and with great passion for their job and the restaurant. A real treat!

I was there for a birthday party with 21 people. The food was very, very good. The ambience also unfortunately there are 2 points that surprised me very much, firstly because there was only one service person present, which was totally overwhelmed with 21 people. Unfortunately, the boss was never seen. 2. The buffet was pretty empty, so the guests had to wait up to 10 minutes until the food was available again. Price/performance was also very high. Unfortunately, the boss wasn't exactly open to criticism either. Very unfortunate! Luckily, there are other good restaurants that will definitely be happy about our next big event.

I was a guest at a birthday party. The staff already neglected us at the aperitif. The person celebrating his birthday helped with the pouring. Later I had to shout to the waitress that I hadn't received any wine yet. She said I was just “invisible”. Such a statement is unworthy of such an upscale restaurant. Luckily the food was good! Since the concept change in 2003, I have been happy to come to Falkenstein again and again and enjoy the appetizer and dessert buffet. Very friendly, courteous and some of the service staff have been the same for many years, which speaks for itself. And all of this at a fair price. Hopefully this will be around for a long time!

Very courteous staff, excellent food, the rooms are beautifully kitschy, like in a castle. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable if you stay for a long time, but that's the only negative. It was a wonderful evening!

Update 9/29/23 Have been there several times in the meantime, again today after a long break 🤗 Luckily I can only repeat myself. It's a shame though, there's nothing at the wonderful buffet that I don't like. Would make my life a lot easier 😜🤭 so unfortunately we have to come back. Three years ago: We were just there again and fought our way through the buffet. If you don't find anything there, it's your own fault. And the staff, who were so unfriendly and overwhelmed, were super nice, accommodating and deserved a good tip👍 So dear Falkensteiners, watch out, we'll be back 😉

Perfect wedding celebration! We celebrated our wedding party in the winter garden and it was simply fantastic! The food was delicious and prepared with great attention to detail. Every bite was a delight. The location itself was beautiful and had a romantic atmosphere that suited our wedding perfectly. The staff was extremely professional, friendly and attentive. They took care of each and every guest and made sure that we didn't lack for anything. We truly felt like kings and queens on our special day. The planning and organization of the event went smoothly. The restaurant team was flexible and took all of our wishes into account. They really went above and beyond to ensure our wedding celebration was an unforgettable experience. If I were to get married again, I would choose this restaurant again without hesitation. I would recommend it to any couple looking for a place to celebrate their wedding. It will definitely be an unforgettable experience! A very nice evening, very fine buffet, great conditions and lovely company, what more could I want?

Introduction: My son and I went out for dinner recently. 1) Starter Buffet: Rated a 10, the buffet was extensive and really delicious. There was a wide variety for everyone. 2) Fondue Chinoise: Another 10. The mix of veal, chicken, beef, veggies, sauces, and french fries was great. It's a complete and tasty dish. 3) Dessert Buffet: This also got a 10. They had a good range, including sorbet, a chocolate fountain, Tiramisu, fruits, and cakes. Each dessert tasted fresh. 4) Service: They earn their 10 here. The staff were friendly, attentive, and polite. They even gave us some cake to take home, which was a nice touch. 5) Ambiente: With a rating of 9, the place has a beautiful terrace. The view of the castle in the background added to the experience. 6) Price: It was on the higher side. We paid 200 CHF for both of us, but given the quality and experience, it felt worth it. 7) Room for Improvements: Didn't find any. Everything seemed on point. In short, the place offers a solid dining experience. It's good for special occasions or when you feel like treating yourself.

Buffet looked like in a cheap restaurant, food was mediocre, staff overwhelmed, price-performance ratio absolutely poor. Totally overpriced and leaves a lot to be desired. Disappointing experience.

We were there for a birthday invitation. The hall was beautifully decorated and the tables were nicely set. The standing apero is a bit tight in terms of space. Excellent, rich self-service appetizer buffet. The very good main course was served at large round tables, accompanied by delicious white and red wine. For dessert there was once again a very rich dessert buffet, one of the highlights being the so-called ice cream ball! Unfortunately, this beautiful hall has a small disadvantage. The noise level quickly reaches a level that makes normal conversation at the very large tables much more difficult or almost impossible. Unfortunately, the chairs are rather uncomfortable for older people and those with back pain.

Creations that were lovingly coordinated with each other, with excellent wine recommendations. The children chose the main course from the menu. They were allowed to put together the starters and dessert at the buffet: an excellent, large selection. Everything lovingly prepared and freshly prepared. Thank you very much. The ambience and the quality of the food always impress. I'm happy every time we go there again and the friendly staff do their best to delight the customers. A lot has changed since the change of ownership, in particular the kitschy overcrowded area has been tidied up a bit. Although I miss this a bit, it was almost like entering another world. You have remained true to the concept, the quality and the courteous and friendly manner. Always worth a visit!

Our "quiet" table, which was reserved for us, was at the end of the room, which had barracks-like rectangular tables for 4 and 6 arranged on the left and right, not very comfortable. The tables were set in a classically clean manner with white tablecloths. Unfortunately it was hectic because preparations were constantly being made to reveal things in the hallway in a restaurant at the back. Through traffic, in addition to the passage in the back that led to the toilet. The food was really good - but the ambience wasn't for us. However, we didn't want to subject our elderly mother to a salad buffet à la Club Med. There was a lot of hectic activity - perhaps the consequence of a busy company. It would have been nice if the Fondue Chinoise legions had remained among their own kind. And: The hosts were very approachable and friendly. A compliment for that.

No more Falkenstein Castle After we made reservations for 8 people on New Year's Eve, my wife became ill. We unsubscribed by email. It was also only set up for 6 people. Eight people were fully charged on the bill without any communication. After a discussion with the boss, the “fine” was reduced to CHF 90. Argument: The cancellation came too late, the meat had already been cut. But we didn't receive our meat either. This is an outrage and absolutely indecent. Such machinations should be communicated when making the reservation and at the latest when canceling.

After a break of over 2 years, finally a visit to Falkenstein Castle again. For me, the restaurant has one of the most beautiful garden terraces. The atmosphere is really very inviting, tasteful and cozy. Falkenstein is known for its starter and dessert buffet, which is very rich and of good quality. The main courses were also of high quality. The lamb fillet and risotto cooked perfectly. Where possible, the local origin of the food is taken into account. The service was excellent, extremely attentive. We were served by the boss. Even after Corona, I can recommend the restaurant without reservation. We will come back.

From the first step into these venerable rooms, you feel warmly welcome and are greeted that way. The name hospitality is given its due honor. The crew knows what is important in a guest and the best thing about it is that it is not an act. The guest in turn feels this and so a wonderful symbiosis is created for the time you spend in these rooms. The culinary delights and the wonderful wine list complete the hours. The two hosts themselves have a (super)natural and empathetic aura that just does you good. I feel at Schloss Falkenstein the way we treat our own customers. And we also come from the service industry...

Extremely delicious food, nice service, one seemed a bit stressed, but there shouldn't be any deductions. From the aperitif, amuse bouche, starter, main course to dessert, it was simply excellent and highly recommended.

Very nice restaurant! Great offer with the starter platters a discretion... but unfortunately you often end up overeating afterwards :s In my opinion it would be great if there was more choice of vegetables or light starters.. Price-performance is not to be sniffed at either. It's worth a visit!
