I was traveling by bike because I was driving the Swiss Mobile Route "Moränenseeroute 360" not far from this place, maybe a minute by bike. They also thought about cycling, because you know where to put it when you arrive. It's definitely worth taking a detour here. Friendly hostess, nice atmosphere, and the ice cream with pieces of fruit (mango, strawberries and nectarine) and cream was refreshingly good. I also enjoyed a special beer from the region. A large linden tree offers plenty of shade when sitting outside. It is also possible to spend the night in a tent.

Wir konnten uns auch die Küche ansehen, die Weine waren wunderbar und wir haben zum Schluß noch ein paar Eier von wirklich glücklichen Hühnern für zu Hause mitgenommen.

I had heard rumours of an oasis of calm in the nearby hills where delectable food was served...yet it took me a few years till I had the opportunity to experience it myself.The meals are prepared with great attention to detail,, with the finest of ocal vegetarian products...the cooks/hosts are delightful and will wilingly divulge information regarding the produce they use. The second time I ventired up, this time, I took my husband for a treat. As he is a great meat eater and can be wary of products such as soya etc I was a little hesitant...Needless to say I shouldn't have worried...He revelled in the fact that choice of what he would eat was in the hands of the cook...and to my utter astonishment loved the strips of delicious spicy soya served on top of salad...indeed he absolutely loved the whole experience...I'm afraid I cannot disagree more with 'frichtig's' review of this restaurant...So please ignore it's narrowmindedness...We will certainly return on a regular basos...perhaps next time on a warm summers evening so we can enjoy the stunning setting in the garden! Friday nights are now Vegan which was a revelation...in this region, where it is difficult to find decent vegetarian dishes full stop, having the opportunity to enjoy a similarily wonderful vegan meal is something I look forward to experiencing!

Last week friends and I went up the hill for dinner, and the only bad news was 1) it was dark and 2) I forgot my camera. Thankfully, it's only a few miles away from the home of friends, and so today in a bit of conspiracy we decided it was a perfect opportunity to venture up the hill again, to enjoy a glass of wine, a Ticino red of course, and then remedy the missed photo op! Arriving just after 16.00, we sat outside in the garden until the sun set behind the Stockhorn and the chill and damp sent us inside. Only then were we 'officially' greeted by the harmless growl and muted bark of the watchful dog who gave us the eye as we climbed the stairs! She's a true character, and I'm sorry to say that I forgot to ask her name!The minute we opened the door we encountered not a restaurant but a home, the welcome as genuine and warm as the space is relaxed. The open kitchen greeted us with a bouquet of fragrances as passionate cooking enveloped us once again. We then lazed away 3/4's of an hour, slowly nursing our drinks in the lovely, still, sun-warmed sitting area just off the kitchen on the mountain side of the house. [Remember: It's a compliment to the cook to stick your nose into her open space, sniffing and giving her a wink and a smile before heading to your table. Just don't expect her to stop and chatter if the house is busy.]Executive chef, chief cook, sous chef and pastry maestro, Swiss born and bred, the red-haired Brigitte is likely to transform before your eyes after a glass of wine and a blink, changing into the pure Irish fairy that she is at heart! No doubt the same geographically misplaced sprite that rules her heart and soul also reigns in her kitchen as well! The fare Brigitte prepares is delicious, healthy and every turn of her spoon mixes the ingredients with love! The food that she prepares and Bruno serves is vegetarian but will equally please and fill --to 'stuffed'-- the most gluttonous carnivore. The portions are generous and if you clean your plate and smile, and think you still have an empty corner, you might even be offered a second helping. While I didn't partake, let me assure you that those who did drooled before and after over Brigitte’s beautiful desserts. A bit more about the food: Herbs, salad, flowers and much of the fruit come from the garden just outside the two dining room windows. What isn't grown there is sourced locally. If the weather is clear walk, take a stroll in the garden to appreciate it and the other works of art you find scattered around. There's plenty of outdoor seating when the weather allows, including a little nook for two underneath the windows with the ever-present Swiss geraniums overflowing from the window boxes.The environment is spectacular; the home is a quintessential Swiss mountain chalet (Brigitte was born on the premises!); the wine is smooth and rich; the salads are beautiful, elegant and impressive; the main courses are as delicious as the desserts are yummy and the espresso is rich. Da ich zurzeit, aus beruflichen Gründen Veganer auf Probe bin, kam mir ein rein Vegetarisches Restaurant durchaus gelegen. Dies aus dem einfachen Grund, dass ein "normales" Restaurant sehr oft Mühe hat die Vegane Küche überhaupt zu verstehen, geschweige denn konsequent umzusetzen.Somit habe ich gleich bei der Reservierung um ein veganes Menü gebeten, was auch ohne Probleme machbar war.Leider hat uns dann die doch etwas "esoterische" Atmosphäre sehr verwirrt und wir wussten nicht ob wir uns nun in einem Restaurant, einem Öko-Laden, oder sogar in einer privaten Wohnung befanden. Alles wirkte sehr unprofessionel und improvisiert, was sich dann auch in der Qualität des Essens (ausgenommen vom Seidentofu- Tirami Su, dies war Weltklasse) widerspiegelte. Soll heissen, hier hat sich wohl jemand wirklich sein Hobby zum Beruf gemacht, was leider nicht immer voll und ganz funktioniert.Das Bauernhaus und dessen Lage sind durchaus wunderschön, auch die Idee des Vegetarischen Konzeptes hat Potenzial, aber doch braucht es meines Erachtens mehr Fachkompetenz um ein Restaurant zu führen. Wirklich Schade denn es wäre eine gute Idee...

Unser absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant! Wunderschöne Lage im Grünen, urgemütliche Atmosphäre und unglaubliches Essen (alles hausgemacht!)! Wir sind regelmässige Gäste und haben noch nie erlebt, dass sich ein Menu wiederholt! Jedes Mal kann man sich von einem grosszügigen 3-Gänger überraschen lassen und dazu auserwählte Weine geniessen! Sehr liebenswürdige Gastgeber, die das Ganze mit Liebe und viel Freude machen. Übrigens auch für Nicht-Vegetarier sehr zu empfehlen, es ist äusserst interessant, was für fantastische Alternativen es für Fleisch gibt (auch wir sind sonst leidenschaftliche Fleischesser)! Es gibt definitiv kein vergleichbarer Ort!

Kaum zu glauben aber wahr. Im alten Bauerhaus isst man fleischlos. Täglich gibt es ein 3-Gang Menu zu einem moderaten Preis. In der alten Bauernstube fühlt man sich wohl und wie in einer privaten Wohnung. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und das Essen wird von der Chefin jeweils kurz erläutert. Auf Fragen zur Zubereitung gibt sie breitwillig Auskunft. Unser Essen war vorzüglich zubereitet, einzig das Lauchgemüse schien etwas gar pikant gewürzt zu sein. Aber das sahen nicht alle gleich am Tisch. Zum Essen wird selbst gebackenes Brot gereicht und alle Produkte sind frisch aus der Region oder aus bekannten Betrieben. Alles in allem ein Bereicherung für die Region.

Das Gasthaus Kraftquelle findet man auf dem Land in einem alten Bauernhaus. Nach dem Eintreten in einen Vorraum sieht man wie früher in vielen Bauernhäusern üblich in die Küche. Dort wird das ausgezeichnete Essen vor- und zubereitet. Das 3-Gangmenu wird zu einem moderaten Preis mit viel Liebe zum Detail angeboten. Mein Mann, ein "eingefleischter" Fleischesser war begeistert von der sehr hohen Qualität der Speisen. Zum Salat, sehr hübsch angerichtet wurde ein Gemüsekuchen gereicht. Die Hauptspeise, ein Cordonbleu auf Gemüse fand grossen Anklag. Auch das Dessert von Vanilleglace und Rumtopf-Früchten begeisterte. Das Ehepaar von Allmen/Strauss harmoniert ausgezeichnet und serviert mit viel Liebe die Speisen in den zwei kleinen Stuben. Eine Reise wert!
