Gasthaus zur Waage in Windisch

We have been coming to Roger and Samira for years. The food is always fresh, beautifully prepared and delicious. The hospitality is always incredibly accommodating, warm and super friendly, whether alone, for a business lunch, with the children and/or with our dog. You feel like you're in the family. Simply great and would love to do it again and again!

Very good and varied buffet for our family celebration. Upbeat and friendly people work there. We will be back.

We were able to get to know the scales in the company of a few friends. What can I say: I regretted not visiting this place sooner! We had a really great evening and felt like regular guests who had already visited 100 times👌 The hosts were so warm and put a lot of passion into their work🙏 - unfortunately that's hard to find today. We can absolutely recommend the restaurant, the food, but especially the hosts - we will be back soon🤗

We've been driving past the scales in Windisch for years and said to ourselves that we had to eat there sometime and yesterday was the day. We received a very friendly welcome from the boss and were escorted to our table. We were given the menu attentively and asked what drinks we wanted - it turned out to be a house iced tea, highly recommended! To eat we ordered the cold Tafelspitz and the Portobello mushroom as a starter and the roast pork and the Wienerschnitzel as the main course. All 4 dishes tasted phenomenal, were beautifully presented and had a sophisticated twist. The berry trifle and the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert had the same praise. When you have a nice chat with the waitress and the boss, you really notice the passion and closeness to the guests - an absolute recommendation for everyone. We are looking forward to the next time.

My friend Jelena and I count the Gasthaus zur Schwert as an insider tip. The warm welcome and the cozy, familiar environment impressed us in the long term. We were able to experience very courteous and attentive service. What we also like are the imaginative and unusual dishes, which don't make it any easier to choose. We would be happy to visit the Gasthaus zur Schwert again and can recommend it to everyone. A journey into the world of culinary delights, accompanied by loving hosts.

A very nice place for a cozy and enjoyable evening. Inconspicuous restaurant from the outside, which has been beautifully designed inside and in the garden. Very friendly and attentive service and very delicious dishes. Tatar (freshly prepared at the table) or the schnitzel is highly recommended. We will definitely come back! So recommended is unfortunately different, schiggi miggi appearance the rest is very disappointing... price services zero. For a children's menu (SCHNIPO) 25.- The piece of meat 20.- and the few fries 5.-. It wasn't even enough decoration to at least have a nice view. So in other restaurants you can get a lot more for less and there is still room for parsley and tomatoes. These are the restaurants where I hope you go... But if it doesn't work, complain in the highest tones!!! Something like that upsets me because it's a rip-off... Price monitoring should stop there, really. So it has nothing to do with expensive, rip off. It will also be noted on TripAdvisor.

We think there are lots of free parking spaces in front of the house. We also find the restaurant cozy. The service was very friendly. However, we would like to give some constructive criticism when it comes to the food. We ordered boiled beef and got 4 slices of boiled meat and 5 strips of vegetables with 4 small potatoes for a price of 45.00 francs. Here we find the price-performance ratio is not right. As I said, this is intended as input. We would have liked to give 5 points. We'll come by again when we get the chance

A very nice place to enjoy the food and the ambience. The service was very well organized, I think the portions were the perfect size, but I can understand if it might seem like too little for some people. The price range is rather high but I think the quality and everything around it is worth the price. I think the scale is recommended

We wanted to order a meal from the à la carte, but this was not possible as à la carte meals are only possible in the evening. There is no mention of this exception on the website. The Schnitzel French fries menu, without any other ingredients, for CHF 42.00 per person is at the upper limit. One negative surprise was under the schnitzel, which has something to do with care in cooking. We will no longer go to the Gasthaus zur Schwert.

Samira and Roger and their team do their job excellently. Very nice garden area furnished with a lot of love. The dining room is also very nicely decorated. The service leaves nothing to be desired. You are still welcome here as a guest. Thankfully, the offering is not overloaded and what is served is of excellent quality and beautifully presented to the eye. Even though it's not in our immediate area, we like to come back again and again and are always very satisfied.

Very good restaurant, the Wienerschnitzel is world class (quality over quantity, that's how it should be)! The wine list is a paradise for fans of Austrian wine. The top service is also particularly noteworthy. 100% recommendation!

The terrace is superb and the service top! The portions are correct and the food excellent.

Today's visit left an ambivalent impression. What was offered was ok in the secluded garden, but SFR 48.- for an entrecôte without any side dishes is simply not possible. French fries cost an extra 6.- and a dollop of herb butter then costs another 3.- That even beats the Zurich prices at Bellevue or Paradeplatz.

Austria in Windisch! From the fine starter, to the paprika chicken and the boiled beef, to the spectacularly flambéed Kaiserschmarrn, we as homesick Austrians were completely satisfied. And, not forgetting the wine list, which offers fine wines from all Austrian wine regions. We'll definitely be back.

We can only recommend this restaurant! The food (we had game) was very tasty - one of the best sauces I've ever tasted. The dessert menu takes you to Austria: the pancakes flambéed at the table tasted extremely delicious. But the best thing is the warm and cheerful nature of the hosts. We had a great evening and would love to come back.

Everything was perfect, especially or despite the fact that we had to be outside because of the certificate requirement. The food, the service, the ambience couldn't have been better for us. I can recommend it to everyone with a very clear conscience.

Went there spontaneously for lunch on Wednesday. Wiener schnitzel with fries. The Wienerschnitzel was as it should be. The homemade lingonbee sauce went perfectly with it. I don't normally like these because of the acidity, this one was just great. The fries were also fried to perfection. I'm happy to pay that price for such good food. We'll definitely be back.

Very nice and individually decorated restaurant. Specializes in Austrian food, small but fine menu. The focus is on seasonal specialties, Tafelspitz and of course the Wiener Schnitzel is a must. Had boiled beef. Comes in pans on a rechaud in bouillon with vegetables. Buttery tender and has nothing to do with boiled meat. Pumpkin soup was also delicious and the desserts are also to die for.
