The Gasthof Alpenblick in Ferenberg is about 9 km from Bern. The focus of this house is certainly not the rooms. Our room was basic but acceptable. We had a room with a bathroom. But there are also rooms where the toilet or shower are on the same floor. I can't judge these rooms. In the evening, in the dark, there was no light in front of my room door. During the day this is less of a problem because of a skylight. Unfortunately, this is of little use in the dark. The dining room is very friendly and, if I saw it correctly, relatively new. The food (pizza and salad) was good and in sufficient quantity. I can't complain about the breakfast either. You got a plate with sausage/cheese, tomatoes, mozzarella, butter, a basket with bread, orange juice and the hot drink you wanted. The inn is on a hiking route. Catering to hikers or cyclists who are going on a tour is more the focus of the house. From there you have a beautiful view. Rabbits and hedgehogs also say “goodnight” to each other. Anyone looking for peace and relaxation has come to the right place. If you like it more luxurious or want to have more action without having to drive the car first, you should look for another alternative.

The view is very beautiful and you can enjoy it with a good coffee and dessert. The homemade cake tastes very good and the portion is large. There is also fondue and the staff is very friendly.

I love it. 3 days stay and I was very satisfied. I will always stay here when in Switzerland.

This review only applies to the restaurant operation! There wasn't much going on late Saturday afternoon due to the weather. We got a good seat and were served quickly and friendly. The dishes we ordered were all very tasty and presentable. The portions are large, so you'll definitely be full. The price-performance ratio is right and the prices are within the usual range. We'd love to come back and when the sun is shining we'd love to sit outside on the terrace with the great view.

Very unsympathetic staff. Unless you sit outside, you won't be served properly. If you then speak to a waiter, you will be ignored and given nasty looks. But the food was very good.

Unfortunately no longer recommended. The food was ok, but after the unfriendly service and 50 minutes of waiting (for chicken nuggets with fries, perch fillets and pizza tonno) we and especially the children lost the fun.

I went to an aperitif on the terrace on New Year's Day. The salmon roll (only 6 Fr.) was delicious!

The check in was terrible because the waiter didn't know where to take me and no one else from the staff was there. The check out was extremely accommodating with a sensational breakfast. Fantastic view. However, I was locked in with my dog ​​overnight, stupid when the dog has to go out. The room was homey and comfortable.

We didn't sleep at the Alpenblick. I immediately felt at home in the restaurant. The wooden interior is just beautiful, really homely. The tables are elegantly set. The various salads are very fresh and there is plenty of dressing. The selection of game dishes on offer in autumn is good. I chose a wild boar caree with spaetzli, red cabbage and chanterelle sauce. That was good. I would have liked to have had more Schwümmlis. The lasagna with wild sausage mince, which I've never had before, was ok, very mozzarella-heavy for my taste, the Belchamel was missing the final kick. The pork schnitzel had a fluffy, crispy breading and was really good, the fries were delicious and my table friends enjoyed my side dish. A bedside table like the Merengue with whipped cream is missing from the offer. It's a shame, it's a tourist restaurant and could have a dessert menu aimed at sun worshipers. We felt comfortable, the service is quick, attentive and not intrusive. There's still room for improvement when it comes to eating, I'll definitely be back, the pizzas looked delicious.

Waited 2 hours for deer pepper with spaetzle. Service was friendly, but there was a problem in the kitchen.

Friendly service and courteous staff. Unfortunately it was raining and the view was therefore a bit cloudy. Rooms simple and functional - ideal for one night.

Food was good. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time until someone took our order. The same applies to the service of the food. We were able to enjoy the two pizzas we ordered after a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes.

What's going on there!? One waiter for the entire terrace alone. We couldn't order a snack or dessert. The waiter was totally overloaded but he remained very friendly😂😂thanks. Maybe the personnel situation should be reconsidered.

This review only applies to the restaurant. Service was good, although expertise was lacking. We each ordered a Zürigeschnetzeltes with salad in advance. The food was low quality. Apparently little was homemade and an attempt was made to “compensate” for this with the portion size. Even the new “more dignified” table settings couldn’t change that. We would be surprised if the new tenants at this location remained in this position for a longer period of time. In addition, the need for another “authentic” Italian must be questioned. Italian cuisine is already being spoiled in more urban areas. In this location, following a predecessor that offered authentic and always good Swiss cuisine, the new concept is incomprehensible.

The inn is excellent for eating out. Very tasty food. The rooms are simple but good. Good breakfast on the terrace if desired. The view lives up to the name. View of the Alps. Large parking lot and good internet. Nice and friendly. Photos are taken from the room. Gladly again and again.

Freshly made Cordon Bleus. Simply super fine. Unfortunately it was a bit too windy to eat outside. Gladly again another time. The hot stone looked tempting.

The restaurant is highly recommended even with a new tenant. The food was freshly prepared, good portions and very tasty. I had the fitness plate with fried veal liver, the liver was very tender and freshly made...I'm thrilled. The cordon bleu is also super fine. Absolutely worth another visit!

Wonderful view! We enjoyed fitness plates with breaded schnitzel and once with pangasius and a portion of 🍟. It was very very tasty 😋 a LARGE portion.

Nice viewpoint, friendly staff, food portions that were too big but good. The various salads were all poured with the same salad sauce on the fitness plates. The terrace could use more cleaning to make it more inviting.

4,5/5 points Food and drinks: Good basic food served in cozy terrace with amazing mountain view. The weather was truly amazing during our stay. And we did our share in emptying the drink storage - the delicious rosé actually ran out during the first evening :-) The Chef is a very pleasant character and together with the great crew made our stay superb! Rooms: The two rooms we had were spacious and tidy. Great view to the mountains from the top floor rooms. Only missed balconies - with those the rooms would have been perfect. Total: Great value for the money.

Definitely worth a visit for ice cream lovers 👍 Of course other delicious things too. Enough parking space.

We dined at Gasthof. The food was great and the view. The ambient was also great elegantly designed restaurant with a layed back setting. We had poor service from the waiter even when we tipped not even a thank you and enjoy day was given. The waiter also walk off as we were speaking didn't listen to our request completely. We really felt rushed and not taken seriously.

This is a wonderful place with fabulous view of the alps. The restaurant is very nice, with a good menu and fantastic servixe. The staff are super friendly. Sitting outside with your favorite drink is not to be missed. The view is stunning. We have stayed there twice and visited just for dinner a 3rd time. Cannot fault it and highly recommend it.

The right restaurant for every occasion. Wonderful view, large terrace with panoramic views, very good and flexible cuisine (currently also game dishes). Top service, quick service. Good cuisine with a panoramic view of the Alps

A warm welcome, a magnificent restaurant on a superb site. We ate Chinese fondue galore. The meats are exquisitely tender, the accompaniments numerous and delicious. The desserts are absolutely divine. Thank you again with all my heart, dear Max and Marianne!

Cozy restaurant “Beizli” in Ferenberg, right under the Bantiger transmission tower.

Very German aesthetic which is to be expected of this part of Switzerland. People inside were friendly and spoke both German and French. I recommend the evening and to be sat outside. There's something about cow bells inconsistently ringing quietly in the distance that sets you at ease.

Ate very fine saddle of venison

It was good, but not very good this time. The jambalaya dish wasn't seasoned properly, there was something missing, it was just spicy. The chestnuts on the game dishes were still hard and the Brussels sprouts were too soft. It's a shame this time it just wasn't the same. The peppermint and black tea had no taste.

We were very happy with the service, which was particularly friendly and we liked the food, it was excellent! We will be back!

Quiet country inn with good views (currently obscured by a cornfield) and romantic sunset. The menu offering is varied and with “rustic Swiss cuisine”. The price is on the higher side, of course a personal assessment. Service very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, changes are coming again, what happens next?

The service was on point when ordering and strongly recommended alternative menus to the daily specials. There was no mention in any way of the massively increased price compared to the daily menu. The Zahnder menu included 2 small potatoes and 2 spoons of spinach and a small Zahnder fillet. Upon our advice, tartar sauce was delivered later. It must be assumed that the very high price is due to the wonderful view. It's a shame, so this will remain a one-off visit for us.
