I recently had dinner there with my partner. The ambience is a nice mix of modern and “homey” and you immediately feel at home. The music is at a perfect volume, not too loud and not too quiet. After ordering and receiving the drinks, an amuse bouche came from the kitchen. This was very tasty. Our menu was very good. I had an entrecot with fries and vegetables. The entrecot was perfectly done, as were the vegetables. My partner had a bacon-wrapped chicken breast with hash browns and requested an onion sauce. That was also very tasty, you can really tell that the rösti and onion sauce were freshly prepared and the special request was accommodated without any problems. The portions are really big enough, no one will leave the restaurant hungry. The host couple was very friendly and accommodating. You feel very welcome and comfortable. The price performance ratio is very good. I'd love to come back.

Cindy and Erkki are super friendly hosts and the food here is simply great/outstanding. We are from the Lucerne hinterland and would love to go to you. I can really recommend it.

I was there for the first time today, we had the Black Lion Burger, the best burger we have eaten so far. We will definitely come back. Even with a lollipop for the children :)

After the change of tenant, the restaurant remains a top address for good food. The kitchen staff is still the old one and the service from the new tenants is very friendly. Of course there is still the home-brewed Löwenbier Highly recommended, gladly again.

Things will soon continue with the Gasthof zum Löwen Grünenmatt. July 1st, 2023 Reopening under the new host couple Cindy and Erkan Weyermann including the usual kitchen team. We look forward to seeing you... See you in July

Great food, unfortunately it won't be a shame for much longer

The food deserves the excellent quality. Price performance is very good. I would happily recommend this to my closest friends! Unfortunately, an employee who was in an extremely bad mood served us! Very moody answers to questions and not even their own beer was recommended. “Man” doesn’t feel WELCOME as a guest. “Woman” lives passion and professional pride differently than I have experienced! Luckily there is an older, very calm and friendly lady in service. Thanks.

Beautiful and cozy restaurant with good food and friendly service. The Raufli Christmas market also takes place here in mid-December - a small but very stylish and beautiful market with lots of local handicrafts.
