High quality but very pricey - chicken main courses are 34.50.- and Mango Lassi is 9.50.- for a glass. You wouldn’t pay that much even in the centre of Zürich.

My new favorite resti for Indian cuisine - great food (the butter chicken is amazing), super warm hosts and beautiful restaurant.

Wow... I'm stuffed! It was that delicious! Top kitchen, fast service! Until after the meal, then we took care of other guests! I would have liked to have had another coffee, unfortunately we were no longer noticed! So I drank my coffee at home. Otherwise everything was very, very good.

The price/value is unacceptable for Thalwil. No other restaurant has such prices. This is not Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich...

Best Indian food on the Thalwil side of the lake (from Kilchberg to Richterswil). The dishes are delicious and authentic Indian. Kudos to the owner for not serving the dishes swimming in oil.

Delicious Indian restaurant with very friendly service. Great Indian sauces and tender pieces of meat, as a starter samosa with 2 different dipping sauces. The portions of the main courses are not small. There were numerous customers who ordered takeaway this Thursday evening. Reservation recommended.

We were a group of 5 and the first time to this indian restaurant. As a starter we ordered the ginger mix plate which consists of 2 Pakora which were crunchy, 2 Chicken wings and 2 spinach soufles. As main we ordered butter chicken, madras chicken curry, chicken badami corma and lamb badami corma. The butter chicken was creamy and to the point. Th chicken was cery juicy for all chicken dishes. The madras chicken was well seasoned and the spice was perfect. The lamb was soft and tender. The best we had so far. Also the wine selection is big. Overall I can strongly recommend this restaurant

It was our first time at the newly opened Ginger restaurant. The restaurant is very warm and lovingly furnished and we immediately liked the mood and atmosphere. Everything is freshly prepared and tastes great, our children were also thrilled, especially by the many different types of naan bread that are freshly baked in the tandoor oven. The portions of the starters and main courses are very generous and the dishes are easy to share! We will definitely be back very soon and can highly recommend the Ginger restaurant to everyone!👌🏻

Great food and service hidden in a side corner of Thalwil.

We reserved half an hour in advance and were lucky to get a spot. The food was delicious, the mango lassi was a bit thick but tasty. The only thing that could be better is the naan bread, we've had better. The staff is friendly and helpful. Enough parking spaces next door, as it is 300m from Thalwil train station, it is also very easy to reach by train. PS: they only have one baby chair in the store, first baby come first serve.

Ambiance: Modern Indian atmosphere, we felt very comfortable in the guest room. Service: Very friendly and attentive. Here you can tell that they enjoy pampering their guests. Eat: I can't say whether it's authentically Indian because I've never been to India. However, we have already been to a few Indian restaurants in Switzerland, so I can say that we had the best tandoor chicken tikka at Ginger. With a super fine grilled aroma on the outside and buttery and juicy on the inside. The other dishes were also convincing and we enjoyed the world of Indian spices. Price: Very fair price-performance ratio. Conclusion: A top Indian in Thalwil that we would visit again at any time.

Just amazing indian food where you wouldn't expect it. We tried it several times for dine-in as well as take-away and always hits the spot with their smooth pungent curries, variability in textures and flavours and always lovely service. Chettinadu lamb and Paneer tikka masala are to die for.

Great, great local Indian - quality food, super cold Kingfisher's and friendly staff. I live nearby and try to visit every week, either with my wife and/or friends. I've tried most dishes, but my favourites are the Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Lamb (off the menu, but the chef happy to make it for me). Some of the reviews mention poor service, but I've never seen that, the staff have always been super friendly and attentive. Thank you, Team Ginger!

Very good and authentic food. Same quality as what you can get in premium Indian restaurants in UK. Well prepared meat and amazing vegetarian options. They also have lunch menu with variety of things inside, which is very nice especially if you're new to the place and want to try lots of different food in one meal. Definitely worth trying.

the food was good but the waitress that served us dropped the beer glass on the table and on my clothes and didn't take any action! just removed the towel and didn't replace it! I asked for a napkin to dry my clothes and She didn't bring it either! He didn't replace the beer and he didn't offer to help me dry my clothes! This kind of accident can happen in any restaurant, but the attitude to help is the most comta and that was Zero! The boss was friendly, but the service did not please me!

good food but the poor waitress who has to serve all tables by herself plus the takeout customers is clearly overloaded. her boss should consider hiring more personnel. ---- recent revisit: "if you're going to reserve a table at 20:30, be aware that you have to hurry because we close at 21:30" me: "ok no problem". we were ready to order at once, but didn't get asked until 20:55 what we wanted, and then they came back 10 minutes later because they had forgotten what we ordered. At 21:25 we were rushed out and the food we wanted to take home was dumped in 1 container, mixing the fish curry and the butter chicken, so rather spoiled. food is still great (but expensive) but the service is not super organized, and bordering on the rude.

Great for Indian food craving fix. Have been taking away from Ginger for the past couple of years and have never been disappointed. My go to dishes are Poulet Biryani and Lamb Curry. Tip top!

Food was really good but they have written on the Google page opening hours until 23.00, we went there for a dinner and around 21.00 they started cleaning the restaurant and kind of kicking us out, they didn’t say it directly, but looked at us in a way we are bothering them and were asking if we want something, that the kitchen is closing etc. it felt very uncomfortable. The food was delicious but I will not go there again for the reason mentioned above.

Take away no more! Naan was from the day before and was swimming in butter, most likely to make it softer again. Portions are rather small for the fact that you pay the menu price (approx. 32-34 Fr) minus a measly 5%, plus if you pick it up yourself! This is a rip off for me and I won't be ordering there again.

A very nice restaurant in Thalwil. The service staff is very nice and attentive. The menu is very carefully selected and corresponds to Indian cuisine. The level of spiciness is adapted to the European palate. I can only recommend the restaurant. There are plenty of parking spaces nearby.

We bought a Poinz deal for Thali plate menus and we were excited to test this place as it looked quite fancy on their website. However, there was a mix-up with the reservation, as the service people on the phone did not understand that we had the coupon. So, we drove to the restaurant and they wouldn't accept the coupon. They insisted quite rudely that we never mentioned the coupon, which was not true as I had listened to my partner make the reservation. Anyway, no use arguing as they had made up their mind not to accept it. So we ordered something else. Sadly the problems with the service did not stop there. They sat us outside on the terrace although it was already dark and quite cold, and promised that we would have a table inside in a moment. They never gave us a table inside and our party sat through the whole dinner outside on our own. Our party ordered three different dishes, and only one of them was good. The lamb was excellent, meat was tender and the sauce spicy as we asked. The prawns however, had a weird soft consistency and a bad taste, which made me wonder if they were fresh at all. The beef was really tough and wasn't cooked long enough to tenderize. Even though our experience wasn't very good, we returned later to use our Poinz coupon. The second experience was by far better than the first but there were still some problems. The salad in the starter was really old and bitter, and the bottle of red wine we ordered was now warm unlike the first time. The waitress offered to put it on ice, but I think it would have been better to suggest another wine that was in the right temperature before opening the bottle. On the second visit, the lamb and chicken on the Thali plates were both good, and we enjoyed the vegetarian part of the menu as well. In summary, I would say that the place needs some serious readjustment with their customer service attitude. It's really not in the restaurant's best interest to argue with customers and refuse to take their coupons when they are already there. Also, the food wasn't sadly quite as good as I was expecting. I would definitely come back for the lamb, but the other foods really weren't worth another visit. Especially with the prices and the problems with the service.

We did takeaway due to covid. Super. Butter chicken, saffron chicken, spicy masala lamb. Sauces incredible.Tried 3 naans but no real taste difference. Not bad, just not a differentiator.Well done. We be back.

Gute Qualität aber eines der Gerichte war leider so scharf dass es nicht essbar war! Schade, dass die Menüs nicht mit Chilischoten gekennzeichnet werden, aus diesem Grund werde ich leider nicht mehr bestellen.

Sehr nette Bedienung, aber leider ist das Essen wirklich nicht gut. Ich hatte paneer tikka masala schon bei vielen indischen Restaurants auf der ganzen Welt, und hier war es leider mit Abstand das schlechteste. Kaum Sauce, dafür unendlich viel Paprika und Zwiebeln. Außerdem leider sehr fettig.

Wir kommen wöchentlich, auch für Take-Away. Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend und das Personal ist mega freundlich. Viel Auswahl für veggie-lovers!

Oh wow! The best Indian Food I've ever had! Everything we had was so good. Our children agree that they want to eat from Ginger more often. (The Okra dish was so good!) We ordered for pickup, but the restaurant was so wonderfully decorated that I hope we can eat there soon.
