Gioconda in Meyrin

NOT for 2 people. If your party is 4+ or 10+ I guess it’s okay. It’s the super busy very loud type-place. Food was okay but had pizza so.. bit difficult to get that wrong. They sat us next to a huge table and it was uncomfortable.

Food was good service was terrible. Hire more waiters so one poor lad doesn’t have to help the entire restaurant.

Geneva is expensive, this place isn’t so there’s a win But one of those restaurants where 8 floor staff are busy rushing frantically but no one is getting served. No clear delineation of who is in charge and who is looking after which section My pizza was ok, needed a bit more in the oven Couples were waiting 15 minutes to get served / greeted and another 15 for the bill to appear. Great potential but needs a management reorg pretty quick.

Food is decent, but the service is appaling! The waiters don't speak English at all, and we ended up sharing the same table with a group of 6 noisy people, considering that the restaurant was EMPTY at that time! This is totally unacceptable and ruined the whole atmosphere. I don't recommend having dinner at this restaurant.

Poor reception, long wait even if we had reserved the place, we could not find our reservation, the staff were very stressed, the service was very long, to order 3 coffees we had to wait 35 minutes. And to get them we had to travel to ask for them!

A good dining experience. Gives an authentic Italian feel and everyone appears to be Italian. One of the better meals had in Geneva.

We took it to eat at home. The pizzas were made extremely quickly, in front of us and with great skill. They were incredible and wonderful. Our congratulations! We were only disappointed with the employee, who rolled her eyes and didn't make an effort to understand us.

Friendly staff, good food that was quickly available. Nice pizza. GVA prices. Nearby to the Nash hotel. So overall, well recommended.

We were a couple, my plate arrived and my husband was still not served... I started to eat slowly while waiting for his plate to arrive, I ate so slowly that I finished my plate cold that my husband's pizza wasn't still hadn't arrived! When the waiter brought him his pizza he cleared my plate! The owner's gesture was to offer us a digestive (a normal thing for Italians!) but we had to pay for our coffees (the biggest profit for restaurateurs) which is unacceptable!!! Even at home we eat together and we don't watch each other eat!!!

We are two. Two errors on the dishes. Restaurant half full and order taken 25 minutes later. The bread is stale from the day before. The dishes are sparse. Disastrous value for money. I strongly advise against it.

The prices are very high and the products are very bad... Green salad is written at 8 sfr (lettuce only) Pizzas start from 20 sfr. It's not even mediocre. The waiters definitely don't speak English... (Although they understood English, all their answers were in French.) I do not recommend. Don't go in vain and get ripped off.

I'm not a pain and a hurry, but there, meh 🤷‍♂️ seafood pizza sparingly garnished with 1st price mini shrimp, 3 mussels… Certainly “cheap” but hey, there are limits. And the service is long at midday when the room and terrace are almost empty... as for the waiter's smile and good humor, we'll come back... he doesn't even listen to the order until the end and leaves... Be careful, the new pizzeria almost across the street from you is going to take it all 😌

Befitting restaurants in Switzerland, very expensive food, carbonara for NIS 100. The carbonara was tasty but with pieces of meat that could break my teeth. The service was nice but they made a face when we asked for more parmesan and the waiter told us it was expensive. In addition to all this, they charged everyone else 2 francs because we didn't order a drink..

Very friendly host with top dishes

food was delicious but the service was terrible for us americans speaking mostly english. they are a restaurant right near hotels and an international airport so it’s shocking to me that they treat tourists this badly. should have read the other reviews that say the same thing. really though, the food was amazing but the bad service tainted our evening.

Called them to ask if they did delivery, was quite sick so couldn’t quite speak it in French. The person couldn’t understand me and simply hung up after a single second, not even letting me try to figure out how to phrase it. I was hungry and tired and miserable, and I’m disappointed to see that other people have the same experience. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.

Located very close to our hotel and the airport. Large, well-shaded terrace. The pizzas are excellent. The negative point concerns the service. Our waitress was friendly but quite slow, luckily we had time. And at the next table, they were treated to an unfriendly and unpleasant waiter. The prices are relatively fair.

Birthday meal. Big disappointment for most dishes. Poor quality pizza, far from what we ate to take away a few years ago in this same restaurant. Carbonara pasta with cream, bathed in oil.. Tiramisu with whipped cream instead of mascarpone... Unheard of for an Italian restaurant.. Collectively very disappointed by this experience which is a drop in quality compared to a few years ago.

It was all a bit odd here: the staff seemed confused about seating me. They were amazed I didn’t speak French but only English, as a tourist. They were then baffled by my asking for recommendations: “How do I know what you want?!!!” The plentiful waiters served people in some sort of grudging, performative rush — as though they just couldn’t even. The pizza wasn’t terrible. All in all, an indifferent experience. Don’t bother.

Excellent restaurant. We stopped here before our plane flight the next day and were very pleasantly received. Excellent catering with lots of choice. Very good food and very friendly staff. We were well received and were very satisfied with this experience. I recommend you without hesitation to go there stop to eat.

A delicious restaurant with Italian food. I recommend it 👍🏻 especially the pasta and pizza. The chef is clearly an expert and experienced in the work 👌🏻 with his family cooperating with him. Classy and beautiful behavior from the staff, thank you to them.

Delicious pizza, fast and friendly service

Very friendly service and a nice menu with lots of choice. Had the veal Milanese and glad I did. Vino by the carafe was enjoyable. Sat outside.

“Italian” restaurant (I put it in quotation marks because carbonara with cream is a crime, but everyone has their own opinion on the subject), noisy room, long wait at lunchtime, the pizzas are very good, the lobster pasta is absolutely to avoid ! Industrial pasta bathed in oil with half a lobster placed on top which you of course have to shell yourself (see photo), why not put this dish with your homemade pasta (which is good), why offer it like this …you should seriously consider revisiting this dish on your menu. And then for almost 40CHF… it’s shameful. In short, go there for the pizzas but not for the pasta.

We were sick after the meal and when we called them to inform them, they refused to listen and implied that we must have "eat something else"... It was an address we went to happily, farewell!

Hearty and lively restaurant near the airport. Very varied menu, there is something for everyone. The servers maintain a rhythm that commands admiration and it must be the same in the kitchen.

Full restaurant. Staff a little overwhelmed as well as the kitchen but they did their best. Well done. We were a team of 9 people. Pizza spaghetti tartare salmon steck...all very good

The first time I went there, I ordered rare and received an overcooked sole. I still ate it so as not to waste... I was going to go back (because geographically close to an event), but when booking by phone, I got yelled at by the waiter because I didn't call not at the right time (12 p.m.). He tells me to call back later, because it bothers him for the service. I therefore did not follow up on the reservation, and am no longer likely to go there.

Slow but attentive service. Food: we ordered 2 salads. Good. But as main course we had 2 different pastas with black truffles. For 39 CHF you'd expect freshly cooked pasta. It seems it was pre cooked !!!!!!! and reheated. Of course olive oil and great freshly graded truffels on top were tasty.

The food is very good, but too noisy for me. The dl of red wine opened at 9.- seems excessive to me.

The owner is top notch, the waiter leaves something to be desired, he didn't explain the dishes, my fried squid was too salty and not well cooked, fillet of beef we asked for medium rare, it arrived blue, the cannelonis the stuffing was bland (minced meat as if she was boiled). Damage

I give all the stars to support the servers who were great. Except ours. We ask for a cold raisin ball and a caramelita ball: he brings back a flan. We explain that we want two scoops of ice cream. He only brings one back... In short… our server was overwhelmed but the others were great! The pizza was great! I recommend this restaurant

Very good Italian restaurant and well served

Easy to find. Lots of tables and spacious dining rooms. Nice decoration. The waiters serve quickly (we found a Brazilian waitress) and with very friendly and polite treatment. The meals are very good, varied. There is a buffet of choice. A positive and very pleasant experience. The "owner" is very talkative and friendly, interacts a lot with customers and is very friendly.

Spaghetti alla pesto was horrible(not well cooler and no taste of fresh basil. The parmesan cheese was mixed. You pay 3 Frank more than on the list is written. They charge you with 2 Frank of you do not order drinks.

I don't know where to start because there is so much to say!! Execrable waitress!!! Another waitress (short hair of a certain age) told me that she would bring me the baby chair, I could always wait for her, I went to get her myself mm! Super pizza and service. This dough is one of the best I have tasted - close to Naples dough. The price is well worth the taste :-) Highly recommended!

Simply the best Italian restaurant in the area. Great selection of dishes, fresh and homemade and tasty pizza made with talent in front of you. I'm a regular customer in spite of living on the other side of the canton. Staff is helpful and friendly, specially pizzaiolo and the girl serving on the terrace. We appreciate to see the owners on duty at each visit. I strongly recommend.

Zero customer service to review. Pizza without taste, the tomato base is concentrated tomato, no cheese on the seafood pizza (pescator). Conclusion we cannot call this restaurant Italian.

Having passed by this place by chance, we decided to stop for dinner. Inside it is very large and also has some places outside. The proposal would like to be that of an Italian restaurant, but the menu is very touristy and the dishes are discreet: there are a vast number of first courses, second courses and pizzas. The dishes chosen were quite good and very plentiful, the only flaw was the excessive seasoning, especially on the vegetables. The staff is quite hasty, but friendly. Prices are average with other local places.

The hidden gem of Geneva. If you're in town, check this place out! The food is delicious, the people there are great, the place is beautiful and cozy, the atmosphere is Italian at it's best. The prices are great too, and they make some crazy good pizzas! We almost couldn't stop eating, but the portions were quite big, so luckily we were able to bring home the rest of the food that we couldn't eat. It's located right next to Geneva Airport, and is a great place to start or end your trip to this lively lovely city. Thank you 'La Gioconda' for an amazing last night of our trip to Geneva. We're looking forward to next time!
