A stop at Baschi in Goms is an absolute must.

This is a place I stopped by before going to Rhone Glacier. This is a great restaurant where you can enjoy wood-grilled steaks. When no one is around, you can sometimes hear the sound of firewood burning. You have to make a reservation to go, but luckily I was able to wait early and sit outside. I spent about 200,000 won for bottled water, beer, a glass of wine, a soft drink, salad, and two steaks. You must try the blueberry beer. It is fragrant and tastes close to unrefined beer. The bread served before the meal is either salted blueberry butter or plain butter, and it has a good flavor and tastes clean. It's even better if you eat it with steak later. As for steak, the baschi steak is great, but be sure to try the veal steak. Excellent.

What a good and delicious restaurant! The grilled meat is succulent, the vegetables just as...the honey ice cream and blueberries...a treat! This will now be our restaurant between Zurich and Valais when we take the Col de la Furka! Plus, the people speak French very well! And rare in Switzerland, representation of vegetables and grilled potatoes during the meal. Never seen before in 15 years! I recommend 1000%!

We don't have Valais without a visit or two to Baschi. The Baschi is one of the highlights that we look forward to before our vacation. You can't describe how it tastes in words, you have to experience it for yourself. Nobody will be disappointed. Consistent quality for years. Very good service and friendliness are very important. Cozy in summer as well as in winter. This year too… “wonderful” again!

We stopped at this cute little restaurant on the way down from the Glacier du Rhône. Luckily we had a table but it was highly recommended to make a reservation as it was full. Very warm welcome and impeccable service! We tried a restaurant specialty: a beef steak covered with raclette. Surprising and delicious. If you go inside, the kitchens are open and you can admire the people in the kitchen grilling meat, vegetables and potatoes. To finish in style we had a special coffee: with fresh whipped cream added in front of the customer. Excellent address!

This past Friday driving exercise for Olivia took us to Oberwallis and further on to the canton of Uri via the Furka railway tunnel before heading back to Pully in the evening. What was more obvious than stopping at Baschi's for an early dinner? This almost entirely carnivore palace has established its reputation on a rather simple but highly successfull concept; high quality meat, cooked on a vertical grill and served on a wooden plate together with one big, grilled tomato, as many oven grilled potatoes as you like, and butter (garlic and blue berries). This is not a place for vegetarians although they may offer one vegetarian-like dish on the menu. We have eaten here for years and have noticed not only an expansion of the premises but also the need to reserve your table at any time of the day you might want to eat. This despite they don't stop serving between the classical lunch and dinner hours, which is a good concept for those that happen to travel by the restaurant, located on the northern side of the road through Oberwallis. The BBQ area is now operated by Sebastian, the son of the owners and the staff is there since years, kind and efficacious, under the iron-fist mother of Sebastian. As usual, I had grilled calf kidneys since this is one of few places still having kidneys and liver of calf on their menu. They were grilled to perfection. The wine list is long and very interesting for those looking for rare and high quality Wallis wines. Highly recommended!

No doubt it’s a great discovery. Excellent meat and very good service. Most of the food is cooked almost in front of you in a large wood-fired grill, which will flavor your meat (which will melt in your mouth). The waitresses regularly come to you to check that everything is going well. Small appreciable gesture.

Very good restaurant. The meat was really tasty and cooked as requested! With a charcoal/fire grill like this, it's probably not that easy. The two gentlemen at the fire are excellent at their craft. The starter (beef tartare) was a bit small but very, very tasty! The cheesecake I had as dessert was simply amazing! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant and warm. The service was great. Unfortunately there were two small errors at the beginning. Unfortunately, the table wasn't completely supplied with drinks and the lady was already at another table. Definitely a small mistake that can be forgiven when the restaurant is full. That's why 5 stars anyway. Otherwise the Seevice was very accommodating and friendly. Another little tip for beer drinkers: Baschi has a very pleasant, soft blueberry beer that is only available there! Hammer👍 We will definitely come back.

We just happened to stop here while driving through and we were very glad we did! I had the Baschi steak rare, which was fantastic! The potatoes and tomato it came with perfectly complimented the steak! The server even gave us each a couple extra potatoes. Definitely stop here if you have the chance!
