A big disappointment, the new management... Before, we went "to Régis and Paola", we always found a smile and human warmth there, in addition to good food... It was happiness! Now, not a smile, a frozen atmosphere, the food is always good but the welcome and the service really didn't convince us... What a shame, in such a magnificent and charming place, an authentic grotto under the chestnut trees...

We were here for the first time and were very satisfied. The food (osso bucco or Stinco with polenta) was very tasty and the service was very warm and friendly. The boss comes to the table in person, which is unfortunately no longer a given today. We would be happy to come back.

Our first visit will also be our last. Unfortunately, there are several points that disappointed us and we didn't like. But also a few good points. One of the waiters is overjoyed in a way, but he also makes you wait a long time because he's still busy serving the tables. The younger waiter makes things much more efficient. We enjoyed the mixed salad and the chicory salad. The two types of bread served with it were fresh. I've had better brasato with polenta, and the food wasn't really hot. The gnocchi was good. The glass of Merlot (1dl), on the menu for 3.50, is communicated by the boss as house wine, which is then on the bill for 5.00. Note, there is no wine for 5 00/dl on the entire drinks menu. For dessert, 1 portion of 2 scoops of ice cream with cream was ordered. The grape ice cream in particular was very good. The cream surcharge is 1.00 on the card, but the calculation was then 2x1.00 because there were 2 balls. The cream wasn't worth it because it came from a can. We hope that this and other reviews will help to improve points so that the beautiful grotto remains long after the change.

Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant. The service makes many mistakes: - Placement not in a reasonable time even though the restaurant was only half full, dishcloths were washed out instead. - Cutlery was forgotten and food from other tables was incorrectly assigned - CAUTION if you have a normal appetite: Main courses come in 120-150g portions (usually 200-250g), salads also come in very small portions. - Beers partly filled below the calibration mark We had rather unfriendly service and a nice beginner who brought my husband a beer twice, even though he had a half-full 0.5 liter glass. All in all, we expected more given the nice atmosphere. Price-performance not appropriate!

We were very excited for this place after a long all day hike. It was quite the dissappointment unfortuntaley. The food seemed to lack a whole lot of love. There was no flavor in any of the dishes. Honestly, the store-bought gorgonzola that was just carelessly slapped on the plate with the polenta was the only thing with flavor. The stew tasted old, very dry and just not how a stew should taste- heartwarming and bold. As a passionate homecook and foodie I cannot recommend this place to anyone with an experienced palate. Maybe if you don’t cook yourself or haven’t traveled a lot, you will like it. It’s the only way I can explain the good reviews the place still earns… strange.
