Grotto much appreciated by the citizens of Mendrisio, in the Cantine area, where they can try traditional Ticino foods. If you go to Bundi it's always safe in every season. Delicious polenta cooked on the fireplace for both lunch and dinner, with many delicious solutions.

If you're a lover of polenta this is your place! The dishes are pretty simple but very tasty, all served with home made polenta. It's an unpretentious restaurant reflecting the owners love for simple food and tradition. Prices are ok for Switzerland. Service is fast, friendly and attentive.

For twenty years we have been coming to eat here. Traditional cuisine and of course homemade.

One of the best restaurants I've eaten in Lugano, excellent table service, magnificent dishes, portions, wines and homemade desserts. Rating 10+

It was once again a real treat in this cozy grotto: Coniglio, which I ate here for the first time 15 years ago, Brassato, both with homemade polenta (made from 3 different types of corn, buckwheat flour and bran), with Gorgonzola on request, as dessert "noce con noccino" and "cassata con maraschino": everything served with charm and the greatest courtesy! We say "mille grazie" to the entire team and wish you at least 30 more years of hospitality!!!

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch at the grotto. Great food. Menu: me, polenta and rabbit, the wife polenta, beans and mortadella, our friend chips, beans and mortadella. As an entry we enjoyed some excellent Ticino lard and mortadella. 1/2 of red wine, a Codoni (gazzosa) and a sparkling water. Two excellent coffees and I have American grape ice cream. Price nothing to say, right. After greeting the innkeeper, who is always welcome, I walk towards the car. Oops, where did I leave my fanny pack. I tell my wife that maybe I forgot it at the table. After a while the wife comes down with my purse so happy. She asks me: Angelo where did you leave him? Bo! He tells me, thanks the gentleman who delivered it to the grotto. Now I remember, I think I forgot it in the bathroom when I arrived. I THANK THOSE WHO DELIVERED MY BAG. WITHOUT ASKING FOR ANYTHING. A GESTURE OF A TRUE LORD. Angel

A typical Ticino grotto with the best polenta in the region! I discovered it 10 years ago and I gladly go there when I have the opportunity. The staff are fantastic, they are very nice and kind. The prices are accessible and honest.

A good place if you want to eat excellent polenta accompanied by tasty dishes. I tried the venison salmì, the braised meat and the bisuncia polenta and I was very satisfied. In my opinion the only sore point is the lack of (dedicated) adjacent parking which forces you to find a space creatively or walk for miles.

Evening spent with colleagues. As soon as we sat down we informed the waiter that the number of people was lower than the established number. Consequently the waiter informs us that the kitchen closes at 8.30pm. 😱The classic grotto dishes arrive (polenta, braised mushrooms etc.) and so far so good except for the portions which were practically smaller than the people present. Two sliced ​​meats... bread not even with binoculars and two pickles. Not to mention the meats... they seemed to have been reheated for days! In conclusion we were more or less all sick with stomachs without digesting. Absolutely avoid!

We ate in this grotto for a dinner with friends, we were immediately welcomed with big smiles, a lot of friendliness and "very approachable". Basically, we immediately felt like we were at home. We started with a nice mixed platter, all excellent and plentiful meat. We moved on to the very good and highly recommended braised meat, it has a unique flavour! And we also enjoyed a nice venison stew, all accompanied by polenta made on the fireplace. What to say? Everything exceptional! We had a bottle of wine for 4, to finish with some good desserts! In total we spent 59.- each!! The only flaw is the parking, it is advisable to organize the cars, even if just below the main road there are parking spaces in the cemetery. Super recommended!!

Even though they had the posted closing time of 11.30pm to 8.55pm the kitchen was already closed, well their countries and customs, the fact remains that I took a trip for nothing.

Best polenta in the world. Simple restaurant away from the tourist crowds. Here it is prepared over an open fire in a copper kettle. I will never forget that. Plus, rolled rabbit roast and a sauce to make you kneel down and pray.

Returned here with friends after a positive experience a couple of years ago. Expectations were not disappointed. We opted for the polenta (always excellent) with various side dishes, ALL DELICIOUS 👍! The portions are generous and you can choose between different types of dishes. Nice place, if you eat outdoors, you remain in the shade surrounded by trees. The cuisine is typical of crotti. The commendable note is that although it is a cuisine rich in fat, you do not remain weighed down at the end of the meal. Excellent cheeses and homemade bread dessert reminiscent of the village cake.
