Superb Grotto typical of the region. We went there by chance and were delighted both by the very good food (the kid cooked at low temperature was magnificent) and the very friendly and warm meeting with the owners and their waitress. We will come back next time to enjoy the beautiful terrace

We had lunch today at this grotto in Rovio and it was as good as we remembered, or maybe better. The extensive menu offers a wide choice of dishes cooked with the care and attention that the top quality ingredients deserve. The meat dishes were simply sublime: the slow cooking and the attention to the characteristics of the raw materials are noticeable in every bite. Texture and flavor were exceptional! Furthermore, the service was quick and it was very pleasant to chat between courses with Monica and chef Fabrizio. We will definitely be back!

Great location, great food and service

After reading the reviews we've decided to switch from La Liste choices of gourmet restaurants to this local gem and it was a great decision. Portions are big, it's not Michelin restaurant, but the quality is superb. Choice of wines is decent as well. And the service is outstanding.

We were 4 people for lunch on a Sunday. Very welcoming environment and staff. The food is really good and the prices are good in proportion to the very high quality.

From the entrance you immediately notice the magical and welcoming atmosphere accompanied by the kindness of the owners and collaborators. Not to mention the chef's delicious dishes that strike you from the first taste, leaving you surprised by the goodness of the dishes with every bite. Furthermore, outside you can admire Mount Generoso and the fantastic mountain landscape. Compliments!

We went to this grotto on a Saturday evening for dinner during a weekend in the area and it was a pleasant surprise! We felt welcomed and pampered by a very kind and attentive service to our requests and intolerances, the food was delicious (the cockerel was super!!) and the place was very nice. This small grotto, a few steps from the characteristic center of Rovio, is a real gem! Warm atmosphere, excellent cuisine and authentic and spontaneous welcome! Fabrizio's chicken in the basket is a lust, which I assure you will no longer enter into consideration... My wife and I are from Denver Colorado and we have been touring Italy and we just got to Switzerland. We found this restaurant on Google and made a reservation. It was one of the best restaurants we have been to almost all week long. Small mom and Pop ran by locals with incredible food and a beautiful outdoor seating area.

After 2 years without having been in the region, we had the pleasure of being once again delighted by the cuisine and the welcome. Really recommended!

The magnificent atmosphere of the Grotto Conzo is then improved by the EXCEPTIONAL typical local cuisine, which offers a vast choice for all tastes, enhanced by the knowledge of the chef, who is able to elevate every dish. I had dinner at this place and they made me feel at home. It is run by a very kind and caring couple. The food is really great! Leave some space for desserts, which are a worthy conclusion to the meal. If you are in the Lugano area it is definitely worth going, even if you have to travel a few more kilometers than expected. Correct prices for what we ate.

We went to all of them! The restaurant is typical of the Ticino Grotti, welcoming, rustic family style arranged with care and taste. The cuisine is exquisitely local but combined with modern cooking techniques that enhance the qualities and flavors of the various courses. The right timing and impeccable service pleasantly accompany the meal. We started with a cheese tasting followed by a goulash with polenta and a luganighetta with onion and polenta that were really good and balanced in flavours. For dessert we opted for a classic "Vermicelles" made up of chestnut pulp, fresh cream and meringue. Thanks again for everything and see you soon!

The location is that of a typical Ticino grotto, quiet and cool. The sunny welcome with care and spontaneous professionalism. The dishes are definitely very well prepared with taste and exquisite, the passion, love and unostentatious refinement shines through to enhance the taste of each dish with local products. Very cozy grotto in the hills near Bissone. Service was really friendly and the menu was quite extensive and good. Besides the menu they have a long list of daily specials. Also a good (local) winelist. Prices are fair.

If we could give ten stars we would. We ate very well, surprising quality. W the game! The venison melted in your mouth and the ribs were cooked perfectly. It's not just the raw material, but also the skilful combination of flavors that pleasantly surprised us (really, tell us the recipe for those artichokes, spatzle and chestnuts!). Last but not least, the service. The atmosphere in the restaurant was a bit like "mum is cooking" but in reality the owner's very good husband was doing it. She was company, super nice and very attentive to taking care of the guest. Very well prepared, how many languages ​​does she know! It's clear that they care a lot about their customers. What can I say, our absolute favorite restaurant, we will definitely go back to taste the dessert which unfortunately couldn't fit in our stomachs because we were happily full from the wonderful portions ❤️

The staff is super friendly, and speaks several languages. The entire map was translated for us. A beautiful basic menu then enhanced with a seasonal menu. You are looking for a good restaurant and you have found it. Plus a small village on the heights from where a superb view.

Great welcome from the terraces at different levels! Very easy access, enough parking spaces! A beautiful food menu and pretty dessert menu. This Grotto is a pleasure to visit! From Rovio square or church square continue the road 200 m towards Arogno.

Beautiful Grotto in Rovio Paese. External parking lots. Both external (also covered by a pergola) and internal tables. Truly excellent cuisine, abundant dishes and attention to detail. I recommend the slow cooked ribs, the wait (about 20min) is definitely worth it! Friendly, fast and helpful service. Even the chef personally came to the tables to say hello and ask if everything was okay. We will definitely return, we can't wait to taste their other specialties (polenta, ossobuco, chicken, porcini/truffle risotto and many other goodies!).

Come sempre siamo accolti da una calorosa accoglienza! I piatti sono sempre ottimi e consiglio la tartare come il brasato con polenta che abbiamo gustato oggi a pranzo.

If you happen to stay around Melano-Rovio-Arogno, my suggestion is to try restaurant Osteria Grotto Conza. We had a lovely lunch on Saturday! Both dishes were great - Punta di vitello and Pasta fresca alla cacciatora. Punta di vitello was surved with some sort of polenta, which I would not definitely differentiate. Most probably it was grinded buckwheat or other unusual groat. Pasta with mushrooms was also very tasty. Service was fast and friendly.
