I only write reviews when I found myself very badly or very very well. I would say that in this case the Grotto positively surprised me. Typical and nice location, very friendly, smiling and prepared staff. The best osso buco I have tasted. Superlative venison and porcini mushrooms. The chestnut dessert is also top-notch. Prices in line with the quality. Well done and I will definitely come back to try other dishes. Super recommended.

Polenta with Cheeks and Mushrooms world-wide... excellent desserts... Hardly forgettable walnut ice cream! Kudos to childcare… We'll be back!

One historical typical Lugano Crotto. In a forest contest … easy parking … good food (mainly for BBQ meat lovers) but I suggest to try cheese Buchon, the tonné onions and polenta with mushrooms. Good selection of local wines.

All very excellent. The only thing is that the desserts are a little pricey in proportion to the normal dishes.

Typical Ticino grotto, well-kept and located in a narrow street adjacent to a forest. Very nice location and ample parking. We had grilled cockerel with potatoes, very good, then luganichetta with polenta and pork ribs all cooked on the grill. For an appetizer onions with very delicious tuna sauce! To try!

Beautiful experience especially for the taste buds! We tasted typical cured meats and cheeses, and then cheeks and shin accompanied by polenta, a real treat! Super friendly, helpful and fast service! I absolutely recommend it!

In our opinion, this is not a typical Ticino grotto. The food was below average (quantity instead of quality), the service was scattered and always forgot something, but the ambience in the forest was quite ok. There are enough parking spaces.

Fantastic Grotto, with a large outdoor terrace surrounded by greenery. A great variety of local dishes makes this Grotto one of the best in Ticino, not to mention the great professionalism of the staff and the accuracy and attention of the owner Reto! The cavicc grotto is surrounded by greenery and also has many tables outside. Parking the car is certainly not a problem as it has a really large parking space. For now, the cavicc tips are the best I've eaten in the Lugano area.

We ate really well! Let the waiter advise you, you won't regret it! If we pass through Lugano again, we will know where to go to eat ;)

One of the best places I've ever eaten. The food is sublime, but let's put that aside for a second, as it speaks for itself. The staff is kind, helpful and professional, they make you feel at home from the first to the last second. What I found incredible is their genuineness, they are not courteous in an "artificial" way, they like the work they do and they convey it in all their actions. Rating 10 and I still haven't gone to pay, faultless.

Nice place, cool among the trees. Typical Ticino grotto food offered at honest prices. The wine list is a bit sparse (for lovers of vintages older than 2018) I recommend bringing mosquito spray :)

We were there by chance, we were thinking of booking in another grotto nearby. We had a great time, starting from the welcome, the very fast service but always with excellent quality, the very good dishes. Overall, everything was fantastic! First time I come to this restaurant with a friend for lunch: the environment is familiar (there are some beautiful long wooden tables and a very large awning to shelter a case of sun) however well-kept and very clean. Very nice location, restaurant surrounded by nature and large parking right in front. The owner and the waiters are very kind and professional, the dishes offered are not pretentious: the menu presents simple and traditional dishes (those who love polenta can find it in many variations!). Anyone who knows me knows that I'm quite demanding when I go out to eat and I must say that my experience at the Grotto del Cavicc was pleasant and definitely worth doing again, I absolutely recommend it! Well done!

There is a beautiful grotto hidden at the end of this street. You eat very well here and you can feel the family atmosphere. It is easy to reach by public transport/post bus and there are also enough parking spaces on site.

Excellent location if the day is hot and sunny. You can bring dogs and it is spacious enough to ensure that they do not disturb other tables. The food is good and the service good and in line with the medium-high cost. I recommend eating grilled meat or polenta.
