Do you want to spend a nice evening or day on beautiful Lake Zug? With beautiful sunsets or sunrises you've come to the right place. Here you can forget about the day for a while. Next door you can walk along the jetty to the end of the jetty and enjoy a fantastic view. In summer you can even take a dip in the cool water nearby and cool off. With caution there are a lot of private ships there when they go out.

Tap water carafe 0.75 for CHF12.60. Incredible demolition, not recommended. We won't be coming back

Top restaurant! Very happy with the food, ambience and service. Everything at a high level. The restaurant is very busy and you definitely need to make a reservation in advance. Lovely again!

Very nice place - simply brilliant with the artificial fog. The waitresses remain very polite and nice even under stress. Big portion and good food.

The most beautiful restaurant on Lake Zug. If only a small part of the restaurant is open on sunny days, guests are allowed to picnic on the unserviced parts of the terrace. These sectors are simply not “maintained”. We didn't have a seat in the served part, but we had beer and Prosecco with us. This didn't bother the employees. But it would still be good if more of the terrace was open on warm spring days.

Nice location although as it’s winter we couldn’t sit outside or enjoy any views since it’s dark in the evening. Restaurant has a great vibe and atmosphere. Had the perch and while ok, isn’t the most exciting dish. Our party also ordered the French onion soup ala Paul Bocuse and was very impressed. Overall it’s a pricey experience.

What a disappointment. We have been recurrent clients of this restaurant. We are a family with kids. We have booked as usual our Sunday lunch, and this week we were sitting at a table next to a big open window (7•c outside) and my family was cold. We kindly asked to be reseated somewhere fare away from the window or to close the window. Unfortunately the answer was we can’t replace you somewhere else (although they were plenty of space at the back of the restaurant) nore close the window. We were therefore left with the dilemma of staying but being cold or leaving. We therefore left the restaurant, and the waiter asked us to pay the water which we did, but was disappointing to not have a commercial gesture! It was therefore the last time we will go to this restaurant.

Friendly service - good food - reasonable prices!

Unfortunately it was far too hot in the local, we were served food 15 minutes apart even though both of us only had one course. I had slightly different expectations of a restaurant like this

Very nice food and wine choice always

Online it said open until 00:00. I took the long journey from Bern because they said the atmosphere was very nice. I was there at 10:05 p.m., the waiter said, since there are no more guests, you have already cleaned the coffee machine and you would do it straight away :)

It was super great. A nice employee gave us a seat so that my granddaughter could enjoy the delicious chocolate fondue👍😊despite the full restaurant, excellent service, incl. Coloring pencils for the little ones. We recommend. Thanks for that.

Hafenrestaurant offers an à la carte and a selection of 3 so-called "Menu" at lunch. These are 3-course meals which are economical and prepared en masse. I took a "Menu". Lunch time service is a bit rushed, for lack of a better word. It feels like they are trying to get you in and out like at a fast food restaurant. Lovely view of the lake from ceiling to floor windows.

We only ordered dessert. The serving lady was unfriendly because she barely said hello. When I ordered the bill, she walked past us and said “yes, right away” without looking at me. After paying we said goodbye but she didn't answer. For me it's simply incomprehensible and completely unfriendly!

The employees here don't want to serve you. It's better to have a coffee party at the bar and ignore it for 20 minutes. Thanks for useful :)

After the wonderful walk, my wife and I wanted to have a drink and maybe something to eat. When we sat down at a table, we were driven away very unfriendly by a waiter who said that this table was reserved, I don't emphasize hello or anything, just very unfriendly. We were lucky, there was a place in the launch..... We ordered coffee and a water, with lemon, we had to wait a while and got everything except the specially ordered lemon... A quick look at the desserts menu and it was clear to us that we would order something, so it happened that we received our order, with great joy we took the first bite, yuck, really inedible. The menu said home-made, unfortunately what we got was anything but home-made.... I know this restaurant thrives on its LOCATION, but I still think that every guest is important.

The restaurant experience was underwhelming due to unfriendly staff and a lackluster atmosphere… slow. The service was notably cold and unwelcoming, making the overall dining experience less enjoyable. The staff appeared disinterested and failed to create a positive, customer-friendly environment. Additionally, the atmosphere lacked vibrancy, contributing to a rather dull ambiance. While the food may have met basic expectations, the overall impression was overshadowed by the unfriendly service and the uninspiring setting. It's a place that could greatly benefit from a more customer-centric approach and efforts to enhance the overall dining atmosphere.

This place is magic. Summer cannot be better dining at the lake or winter having fondue on the chalet!

The fondue was very tasty. Really friendly staff.

Price-performance ratio is becoming less and less good here and can now be rated almost 0 points. The one! Pieces of veal slices in a mushroom ragout were tough and cooked far too long, but the vegetables were more than crunchy. The only saving grace for the two points in the meal was the cream slice, which is really recommended. The service is OK, but nothing more. The windows are leaking and it's cold. I was probably here for the last time today.

The harbor restaurant is a classic and really beautifully located. Nice decor, great view, right on the lake. Unfortunately, the team, including management, has been totally unmotivated for a long time. After I kindly pointed out to the staff why they were all wandering around the restaurant so listlessly, they hadn't asked us for 2 hours if we would like something more to drink, or even if we wanted to stay for dinner, just without saying a word! Putting a note on the table, “Reserved from 6:15 p.m.,” there was only a succinct shrug of the shoulders. For the love of the guests, please replace the management and team, it would be better for everyone 🤷🏼

We had to wait over an hour for food and were constantly ignored. I am very disappointed with the service. Small dogs are welcome. Large dogs must stay outside. I just find it...

The Aperol wasn't tasty and the game plate was a wild collection of food. The Alto Sios wine, on the other hand, tasted very good

Price-performance is not right. We like to spend a little more money on good food, but unfortunately that's not the case here. The guests come anyway because of the location, so they don't make that much effort anymore... Our waitress the other day was very friendly!!

The location of this restaurant is undoubtedly beautiful. Unfortunately, I have to say that the prices are exorbitant considering what you get. When I ordered lunch, I was disappointed that I only got five lettuce leaves and two tiny pieces of meat for my money. This portion was definitely not adequate. In addition, the service staff that was responsible for us was unfriendly. They forgot to bring us the menu and during the payment process they couldn't communicate with us properly. This experience disappointed me.

I liked this restaurant, very nice view, good food and drinks, excellent service, menu for kids, even a coupe of kids prosecco, we had happy family dinner there.

Attention e-bikers: Not suitable as a stop for e-bikers. Electricity prices would be high and therefore the battery cannot be charged. The offer that I would pay 5 or 10 francs (a full charge costs 40 Rp) was rejected: otherwise there would be too many e-bikes and we don't want that

Great ambience and very friendly service

Food mostly good to very good, prices in the upper segment. Service was consistently top, the ambience with a view of Lake Zug was a dream. Time management: serving food very quickly. Perfect for a short lunch time.

On warm full moon nights, the terrace is the ideal place for lovers and romantics. (Artificially generated) clouds of steam on the water in front of the terrace create a mystical ambience, which, together with good food and attentive service, ensures a successful evening.

Very long waiting times, food is overpriced. People asked us if we knew what we wanted to drink or eat, but we hadn't even gotten the menu yet. Nothing special and too expensive, there are other locations that are much more attractive.

A beautiful location. But! We were told the restaurant was booked out, and they said we could sit at a surfboard, which was empty, we said yes. It took approximately 10 min to get a menu, then 10 more before them came to take our order. The staff were always polite but very, very slow . 22.50chf for 4 1/2 prawns that were well and truly past their best. The Garlic bread was soggy and lacked any flavour of garlic well actuly it just lacked flavour. The dessert was lovely, although it was overpriced . We spent just under 2 hours here, and despite being apparently booked out, the entire inside remained empty as well as much of the alfresco terrace. Very disappointing.

The perfect place for breakfast or brunch on a beautiful day

Service was very nice - table not clean, food 'from the can': whitefish fillets were fresh, crispy biscuits not homemade, vegetables ??. And this for 37 and 39 francs for the plates. Rip off!!

We were here for lunch with the team. Super tasty food, very cleverly cooked and including soup and salad, the menu price is absolutely right.

Good food, great view, but the service staff leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered a bottle of wine. The bottle of wine was placed in the cooler on the table and not even opened. Instead the starter was served. Afterwards someone came to open the wine. A short time later, one person had already finished the appetizer, the other two people hadn't yet and they were still clearing the one empty plate. This can be improved.

We had gone there a few times in 2012-2016 and always felt that service was poor (mostly unfriendly) and food pretty average for a pretty high price. We decided to give it another try and were very pleasantly surprised: the location has stayed amazing with a view on the lake, the harbour, the city and the Alps. Now the terrasse has a flair, with different corners, but most importantly, service is very friendly and good, and the food is truly excellent. So glad this amazing location is now an uncompromised experience, worth the price asked. Maybe one little downside: the whole service can be a little slow when they're full (which is almost always) UPDATE July 2023: it was full and service was fast, and tap water is free (unheard of in Switzerland)!!

Very good restaurant with a beautiful and large terrace along Lake Zug. We went there in the evening and enjoyed a magnificent view. Very good food and very good service. It is better to book, the place is very popular in summer.

I was there today, the location is amazing. But the food is very overpriced and the quality is simply “non-existent”. For breakfast, a croissant to warm up - not even fresh - with a slice of bread (also not fresh) with very, very little jam for CHF 12.- I must be crazy. The restaurant is also very dirty and the employees are extremely rude. It's not worth it. My tip: Hotel Vitznauerhof in Vitznau. Top quality, very good price, even better view of the lake.

Stunning location with lake view, very hospitable service, decent dishes

The food is very fine. Amount of salad bowl top. Good location, close to train and bus station. Very busy and therefore limited space and not so much flexibility with additional guest reservations. Staff very friendly! Unfortunately there are no 4.5 stars, so overall 4/5

Everything always takes a long time...

We visited the harbor restaurant for a small aperitif in the evening. The terrace is very nice and the view of Lake Zug is of course beautiful. However, we had to wait about 15 minutes for 2 beers (9Fr. per beer = too much), which is clearly too long. However, the service was very friendly. Nevertheless, I think there are nicer and cheaper restaurants in Zug am See.

Unfriendly staff, we asked whether our two small greyhounds were allowed on the terrace. We then received an unfriendly rejection because our dogs are 5 cm too tall (permissible height 40 cm)... Words fail us.

12 people had lunch on the terrace today. Thank you for the attentive and warm hospitality. We really enjoyed and appreciated it. from A to Z highest score! Recommended!

Unbelievable, Chef de Service notabene from an area in Europe where hospitality is very important, totally overwhelmed. I ordered a table by the water by phone but it wasn't possible at first. Statement: our staff is trained.......... . Except my reservation wasn't even on their list. So what exactly is the staff trained in? In addition, individual tables were reserved more than 2 hours later. Seriously: do you want to leave the tables empty because you don't know the word ORGANIZATION? The fact that I, as a disabled person, was left standing for more than 5 minutes is just one detail.

The service was horrible, we had to wait more than 20min for just 4 drinks. Unacceptable!

A restaurant located on the shore of Lake Zug, all guests naturally choose to sit by the lake, and because there is a yacht wharf near the restaurant, they see many people sailing to play. Although the visiting date is June, the evening temperature is only about 22 degrees, and it is 10 minutes comfortable. You can also enjoy dinner and enjoy the sunset lake view all the way. And overlook Rigi Mount and Pilates Mount. In terms of food, I ordered a shrimp starter and another main course is baked. The ingredients are fresh and taste good. In terms of dessert, it is very large. It is better to share it with your companions.

At 15:00 only 7 things from the whole menu are available. Only 7... Kitchen is practically close. Plus, they don't bring water to dogs. It's June, 28 degrees. So my dog has to die. We are in 2023... I would not come back in this place not even if they pay me.

For me one of the most beautiful locations in Zug. The location so close to the lake is breathtaking. Design and equipment tasteful and stylish. The service is extremely friendly and organized, the food is amazing. What more could you want 😍 Always my pleasure .

Unfortunately, the stesk was almost raw at first and then fried through after cooking. In the meantime the fries were cold because no fresh ones were added. Rather poor 2-3rd class. It's a shame for the beautiful location.

Located in beautiful surroundings, with a view of the lake. The service was really bad, the food was ok, but no more than that.

The food is way too expensive for the portions. Extra requests are not welcome. In addition, vegan options are hardly available. The service is friendly, but they don't even come with the wine with the meal. I wouldn't go anymore. The dogs are only allowed up to 40 cm, which doesn't exactly express hospitality. Aphids were obnipresent.

I had a fantastic stay at the restaurant. i have booked a table 2 weeks ago but they couldn't find the reservation. therefore i have asked them to resolve the problem and to find us a table which they did finally and just for that i want to give 5 stars. the service team was fantastic, kudos to szilvia and Ervin.

The head of the service was very unfriendly to me, she snatched my plate away, the food was terrible.

The homemade waffles are probably factory made. Dry and hard. A disappointment. The head of service doesn't even know how to deal with a customer complaint correctly and just says that no one has complained yet... well then I'm probably the only one with quality. .. Disappointing. Also her arrogant look...

Very nice place and beautifully decorated. The service is very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the bouillabaisse is not recommended because the soup seemed watery and the small amount of fish was too bland. The remaining dishes were good and nicely presented.

Love it! Food, service, and atmosphere worth of the money. The seasonal menu is always great. It is one of our top 3 favorite restaurants in Zug. We can only recommend it.

Bad service, with opening hours until midnight there was no dessert at 10.15 p.m., a number of guests were put off and no longer served.
