HeK (House of electronic Arts Basel) in Münchenstein

Interesting exhibition, but probably not immediately accessible to everyone.

Free from Wednesdays to Fridays from 12 noon to 1.00 pm and on the first Sunday of the month.

Great space. Although it all depends on the artists who are exhibited. But the presentation is decent.

Absolutely weird place. Can't recommend. There was a day party for 8 hours, but the music was way to loud so only like 20 people attended... Is this some sort of performance art or were they serious? Reminded me of a 2h soundcheck I had to endure here 2 years ago until I realized that it was actually some sort of "theater"...

Technologies of the last century in futuristic shiny packaging look much worse than this house. Is it worth not going to this museum, of course not. Don't forget to bring your friends and good mood!

We ate there and it was very good and interesting. I was at the exhibition with the children a few weeks before. Is also interesting for children.

The free outdoor installation Appearing Rooms by Jeppe Hein is currently on view. The museum itself is closed until early June 23.

Relatively small, well worth seeing, changing exhibitions

one star for the staff, one star for the ambience and another for food and cafe at the bistro. We found the exhibition too small and not impressive, maybe not my scene

A well-structured institute with a wide range of offerings and carefully curated exhibitions. Also worth seeing is the museum shop and the “Genusswerk” bistro.

SO IN THE APP EVERYTHING TAKES EEEEEEWWWIIIIIGGGG, THEY DIDN'T EVEN ANSWER ME AFTER I TOLD THEM MY CONCERNS AND IT WAS URGENT!

Not my type of art so I won't give a bad rating but I can't give a good one either because for some reason it didn't draw me in. If you like modern art and digital content this might be for you, but for some reason I was expecting something else from this place.

An urban, industrial and modern area, the art exhibition is very well presented. The Only negative point: the staff/guides for exhibition are not friendly and not doing their job staying static, selecting to whom they will talk and to whom not…

Was there at the street food festival!

Great food, exhibition, workshops, staff! The staff are incredibly nice, the exhibition has a lot of attention to detail and is very unusual. I had a lot of fun with the workshops. Was also there on Halloween and you can see how much effort the employees put into the decorations etc. And the food was great too! Can't complain :)

Our first visit to HEK. Actually, that's not our world. But we got involved in all the video installations and immersed ourselves in a fascinating world. Very impressive. We stayed much longer than planned and will remember it for a long time. Many thanks to the young lady from HEK for the great tour of the “Wired Magic” exhibition.

An incredible space that is absolutely worth visiting.

Interesting exhibition. Food for thought about what technology can be used for but also misused for. Lots of impressions that should also help us understand climate change and also extensive thoughts about where the whole thing should lead us. A symbiosis of surveillance and environmental damage.

On the homepage it says that the museum opens on Tuesday at 10 a.m. When I arrived, the lady at the reception told me that the HeK only opens on Wednesday and is closed on Tuesday. It's just strange that the museum doesn't seem to care about its own digital content.

pretty inventive! the fashion exhibit is a little bit pretentious and at times makes no sense but all in all ambitious

The House of Electronic Arts is located in Basel near Freilager-Platz and tram stop 11. The name says it all. We came here on a bus tour from Freiburg im Breisgau as part of Regionale 20, an exhibition series of contemporary art in the border triangle. A good tour provides an understanding of the electronic arts present here.

Totally new world. Well depicted.

Very good experience and original content. Few museums are dedicated to electronic art. Pleasant attention from the staff. First Sunday of each month with free entry. It has a very cozy cafe where you can drink and eat light dishes very well. Recommended.

Mhmm, a little small, interesting depending on the exhibition and 'artist'.

It's the future...with electric PC..3D...maybe our future like future films!! They don't mean anything to me. But they certainly do to the young people of today's generation. It also makes me think about professions that are dying out as a result. Like dental technology... that's what the CAD CAM system is for. (SBB???Locomotive driver...?)

Good exhibition when I was there. However, I imagined something different with "Future Love". In addition, the VR glasses could not be used. The menu popped up and this can only be removed with the HTC Vive controller, which was not there.

Greatly curated exhibitions of electrified art in the hip industrial area. Herzog de Meuron's archives just around the corner. Sit relaxed in the café. It's worth a visit!

Not a place like this in Zurich. The "House of electronic art" is by itself a promising initiative, and the fact that it is placed in one of the referential cities in the art world, just make it credible. Not pretentiously huge neither too small for its duty, and showing already a clever and thrilling direction even its young age. This is going to be The Place for digital art and debate. For sure
